  1. yep %%% is right, cause 0 is the same either way... I had a GPS in my car, it's only about 5 mph off at 30, but almost 20 @ 80...
  2. removed sway bars?? maybe? I just got my camera back, so I'll be taking a couple new shots in the next couple days.
  3. only other thing I can think of is maybe a CV...might make an unpredictable wobble/click like you describe.
  4. who was? you and archemitis?!? YOU missed out, austin and I had the good time up at gilbert!
  5. 2 things about this: 1) QMan does have an ARB locker in the rear. but he doesn't have an R180...or even a subaru...he's running an isuzu solid axle. 2) yes, there are a bunch of rear diffs that would swap in easy, but the problem is getting a front one that matches. you can't run a 4.44 rear diff (easy with a forester diff, don't even have to borrow from nissan), with the stock 3.90 front! and up to this point, no-one's figured out how to change the front ratio. Thanks for the help, but as tim said, search first. these are old ideas.... oh yea, and XT6's had the 3.9 final ratio, and some came with rear LSD...
  6. no, neither of us tried going up it...but yes, that's the one. same place I came down at C4C
  7. because they're artistic, and AWESOME!!!! even if not that impressive from an offroading/hardcore standpoint.
  8. Hell yea!!! just like to say that I was recording during all three shots very happily in the spectators position for this trip! <-- (first time the chuxwagon has left that ORV park undamaged!) also, you should all know that that pic where the 'mudwagon' is at such an extreme angle, the ground is level under the back wheels. the one on the passenger side is really that far off the ground!!! looks awesome...any good shots of my wagon? I've got a few good ones of you, I'll post 'em from the high-speed @ school tomorrow.
  9. I happen to notice that my ol' '85 had the squiters in the grill, and the '88 had 'em on the hood...and the little holes were there on the '88. so I've had 2 sets of squirters since the beginning of this beast...works awesome!!
  10. Those are sweet pics!!! I love the one of the emblem, very cool! looks like you had a great time!
  11. [hijack]my dad's old (I think mid '70's) goldwing has a 1.8L H6[/hijack]
  12. most of it isn't, except the y...to get it to seal completly (which you're going to need to if you can justify having a snorkel...)
  13. sweet!! what's that light I see on the front?? looks like you've got one fog light under the license plate...
  14. mine either...when I had mine (before it stopped working ), I literally had it velcro'd to the dash above the heat controls. and ran the wires out from behind the clock. I'll look for a pic found one, it's in the dark, but the red display is the CB...
  15. don't forget porsche, and honda motorcycles (might just be the goldwing)
  16. no, can't disengage it without removing it... torxxx, I'm not sure what you mean by the 'bottom strut nut' I just pound out the pins, and slide it off the stubs, with my high clearance aa lift, there's almost enough axle angle/DOJ play that I can get the cups off the stubs without jacking up the car. this will change some when I add the SJR diff shim.
  17. cool idea, but I bet building it will be quite difficult...good luck!!
  18. I hate ABS, although there are some days in the winter here that it would be nice (Duluth has been called little san fran a number of times)

it's right there in my sig... I measured them as just shy of 27...some tire calculators call 'em 27.7, some sites say 215/75/r15 = 28...so I call 'em 28s yes, I realize it's not the biggest tire anyone's ever run, but I haven't done any trimming, just a little bashing.
  20. looks awesome!!! lots of room at that rear tire! just trim out the back of the wheel well, and you'll be good to roll!
  21. ??? I can almost take my axle off without jacking up the car, certainly without lifting a tire off the ground!
  22. I've done many a long freeway trip in my 4" lifted, swaybarless wagon. They're DEFINATELY optional. there's one bridge on 35 where I usually drive that goes diaganolly, so the front tires don't hit the expansion joint at the same time. it's a little scary at 80+, but not enought that I worry about it.

it is sweet, eyesore's hatch has 2 tips on either side, just in front of the rear tire...I'll see if I can find a pic from MW3... about flattened tail pipes...think about it, and go look at the rockers...pretty scratched and dented eh??? if it's not, you're not trying. it's much more protected in the stock location!!! here's one... and another: look how exposed they would be to...say a log...or rock!

I went wheeling a couple weeks ago with 7 people, 2 dirtbikes, 1 ATV (with a picky driver....didn't want a passenger) and my wagon....4 people, plus extra gas for the bikes, tools, spare parts/tire....I was rubbing like mad, but only in the back
