  1. Good, I can deal with that. I've prob put 20K miles or so on it, and who knows when the p/o last did them. New belts even came with the car, so I deserve this! At least the tow home was a good test of the eyebolts I installed on the bumper.
  2. '86 GL wagon 4x4, 1.8L carbed suddenly died on the freeway. I had normal power and was going about 75, when it lost power immediately. Has gas, oil, power, and cranks but no runny. Seems to be cranking strange, though...rpms are all over the place, between 200-3K or so. I'm thinking timing belt, but have never had one go on me before. If it sounds like that could be it, I'll pull the covers in the morning and find out. Maybe it lost compression, so I can EJ it!?!
  3. I agree, not that that he'll make the other side match, or anything! Stops rust clear gloss would work.
  4. Along with better exhaust, hot ignition, electric radiators, etc. those Hp's will add up.
  5. You sure don't fool around, Scott! How about some rusty red primer for the shotgun side?
  6. Nice find there, Scott. I can make the other side match, if you like!!!
  7. Alright, Jeff...you don't do that first pic, and I'll try and not do the last.
  8. Ouch!...but in his defense, the time frame was mentioned. Anyone been through there since the closures? Looks like we'll be making this our first stop, and camping there or nearby if there is none. ~Eric
  9. Too bad about that guy's broken arm...hard way to learn a lesson. Love the new roof rack, Jeff, but it looks like you could squeeze a couple more in there!
  10. Put me down as another maybe. That's the start of our vacation, but we planned on driving right by there on saturday anyway. It looks like only a couple of the "more difficult" trails are closed... http://www.dnr.wa.gov/Publications/amp_rec_reiter_interim_strategies_map06-09.pdf Just how open diff friendly is reiter? :-\
  11. Here's yet another way to use this great stuff. 1/3 can each in the gas tank, oil, then through the pcv. I never changed the oil afterwards...just kept topping it off every week! My TOD's been gone now for about a year.
  12. If one of those 720 axle sizes doesn't work out, then these cars also used it and offer different axle lengths. Just watch out for the different spline counts, if you want to use the locking hubs. 240z 280z 200sx 240sx
  13. No prob, Brian, now I see...cause I didn't find jack on a soob/720 rear end. You should do this, and sell me your nissan front!
  14. All the way to the wheel? Good, then maybe you can bring some useful info to the table!?! Don't worry, Jeff...It's still Fuji heavy industries
  15. I like your idea of using the nissan 720 setup, but from the ton of research I've done, it's not been tested on an older soob. Maybe some R180 diffs converted with custom axles, but not nissan all the way out. I'm still very interested in doing this on my own car too...the benefits are just too great! Stronger diff/ stub axles/ halfshafts, rear disc brakes, lsd possibility or weld the diff and unlock with hubs. It looks like the diff will bolt-on easily, but the trick would be making a custom sub frame to mount the nissan hubs? Or convert the axles to subaru, weld or lsd the rear, and get far less breakage. This has been talked about for many years, so I'd donate my time to see this awesome mod become reality!
  16. Jeff, did you get my pm? I'd like one in white, please.
  17. Looks like you all had a blast! I'll be sure to have the time off and a welded diff, if it happens again next year. Scott, do you like rock crawling any better now!?! Bill, maybe we can meet up next month for some wheelin' and dunin'?
  18. How much for the sticker?
  19. I believe that Wallyworld dropped their 14's, but the Uniroyal Liberators are still available in a 225/70R14. For the money and daily driving, I'd go with the AT2's.
  20. The dog gate's also a great idea, in case you do a nose-dive and something becomes unsecured. A steel tool box on the back of your skull may smart a little!
  21. I did use the stock bent pipe, then just adapted it to the muffler.
  22. Ya know, I'm not sure now which I got...prob the 7407 Where did you get that pic from!?! http://www.cherrybomb.com/products/pro The inlet was supposed to be centered, so I got it backwards. Hence the weird placement on me soob. I'd buy a different pipe size or brand to get it right. Don't count on the stock pipe being 1-7/8" either. I think it's flared out to some odd size near the muffler. Here's all you need to know: http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/ea-performance-page/subaru-ea-performance.html
