  1. well that goes from one side to another and really shouldn't effect the alignment
  2. Good idea!! And let us know what you find out!!
  3. First of all you have to put the fuse in the holder to get front wheel drive. This is only on the automatics. Second it really doesn't improve tire wear unless your AWD system is old and not running right(torque bind) And it also really does not effect gas mileage either. But you can do wicked burnouts with the fuse in!!!
  4. Well I'll look for anything obvious. I mean it's not like I don't have lights but it would be cool if everything worked....Don't get me wrong I still love them! But if you think of anything else let me know. Thanks again!
  5. I wish my ignition still worked good. I can put any subaru key in my Brat and start it right up! It's a little worn out. It does have almost 260,000 miles on it though!
  6. I'm planning on going, do I need to sign up and register with anybody ahead of time? I'm planning on driving my Brat down...It's around an 8 hour drive. But yeah I just need to know how much money to send to who/where. I know that Connie said something about having a USMB tent there and I would love to have my Brat parked with all the other subys! I also like the idea of going to the reptile thing as well! I'll have my wife and daughter and a couple friends with me so it should be fun!!
  7. right, yeah I have had a friend that has done that, no I'll spend the couple dollars on a test light. Thanks again!
  8. Chrome rings? And what ground to what location. Sorry....:-\
  9. ok I will have to get a test light....I know I know I should really have one anyways. But I guess I will try this. I didn't think I would have to do anything like this because I thought that one light was used for only high beams and the other is used for High and Low. So I thought if I plugged in the one used for high and low then I wouldn't have to do anything. I also asked Brian (monstaru) and he said that when he did the conversion he didn't remember having to rewire anything. So I guess I will try this and if there are anymore ideas bring 'em on!!Thanks for the suggestions and also thanks for the compliments!!
  10. My plugs actually line up perfectly with the prongs on the bulbs
  11. Yes the axle on an EA82 is longer but he may be referring to the 86 wagon and meaning that it is an EA81 so he needs to clarify the body style
  12. So as you all know I just completed this swap, well now I only have low beams. When i put my high beams on the lights go dim. Also the light on the dash says that my high beams are on all the time. I have tried using the other plugs that were left over and then the lights only work on high beams. So I plugged the three pole plugs back on and have the same problem. So any ideas? Thanks!
  13. I say just put the stock motor behind the "cab" and the run a 2WD tranny and use the cv axles to power the rear wheels, I'm sure someone already had that idea though.... but it would be pretty cool!
  14. +1 I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to get her out working on subarus!!!
  15. I just hope he was able to get it running!!! Maybe it was more than the disty? Hopefully he gets back soon and lets us all know!!!
  16. The axle will only fit if it's the same body style car...which is EA81. If it has the same front end as your car then it will fit, if it looks like a Loyale then it won't. To get the new axle in make sure you take some sandpaper and take of any corrosion on the end of the axle where it slides through the hub. Then what I do is use a home made slide hammer, But I think if you prep it good enough it will slide in. then once you can get the hub back on you can use the axle nut to tighten it into place. Good luck!
  17. I would think he would be back by now!!??
  18. Ok as far as I know it has a switch over the steering column, mine did. And I bet it's a bad rear wheel bearing and not the rear diff.
  19. Yeah but at least you know some of the problem now and with a new temp gauge and now that you know the fan will work, you shouldn't have to worry about any more hang ups!! So at least you're making progress!
  20. Yeah I'm honestly not sure if he will pay much for anything for it! He sounded like he just wanted to make sure it got saved! I wish that he had been heading to Maine so that I could have gotten it!!!! But yeah it does look nice I know it will at least be worth the parts!!! He got lucky for sure and the PO was unlucky!:-\
  21. It looks like it from the picture
  22. sounds about right! Now I really wish I'd thought of it when I did mine:-\
