Jessekrs123's 1984 Subaru BRAT
From my experience, and from what I have heard, that is one of the common issues with the 4spd D/R, and why many are changed to the 5spd D/R

Stellaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!NEW PICS!!!!
I really need someone to do mine. I have no clue how to do the wiring etc. myself. But I have a feeling my 98 Foz would greatly benefit from this mod!

A new driveshaft is on it's way! And I guess if your axles have been broken, it's hard to say how well that center diff lock mod works?!

OB Lift Blocks On Legacy
There is a screw or bolt that holds them from the top. You should be able to see the plate for them on the top side of the frame rail on each side of the motor. And yes, you need to use the ones from the Outback.

Greetings from CT!
Nice work! Just out of curiosity, why didn't you just drop the entire 2.2 into the car? It would have bolted and plugged right in and run without issues.

Cut the rear off my wagon this last weekend..
Do you think the weight is about the same? Or will this be heavier in the end? Looks awesome, and strong as hell though!

Lifted 98 Forester S
I got the 05 Forester XT cat back installed tonight. I used an MS3 adapter, which aren't made anymore. Worked great except for the typical hassle trying to find the right sized doughnut gaskets at the local parts store, but I found ones that worked. It has a deeper, more rumbly tone to it now, and definitely is louder, but still pretty quiet at normal driving. But it's newer and in better shape, and the sound improved, so I'm happy with it.

Sweet. I have heard a bit about it in the past, but it'll be cool to see the whole story!

Lifted 98 Forester S
Recently bought some used parts for this. Bought some very low mileage front and rear brakes from an 05 XT from Texas, very clean, no rust, and they came with cryo treated rotors, and hawk pads. I plan on painting the calipers with some high temp paint before installing to help keep the rust away. Also picked up an adapter to install the XT cat back. Just need to get some gaskets for that. And Kati will be stopping at Norms tomorrow (they seem to be the only place that has one) to get a good used front hub to fix the wheel bearing issue. Can't wait to get it all installed once it all shows up!

Ordered a used, but great condition 03-05 Forester auto driveshaft the other day, and that showed up today. The one I have on the car is from a 98-02 auto Forester and it was VERY used when I got it, but it served it's purpose. But it has been vibrating a bit and making a little bit of noise when I put it into reverse, so I know the u joints are tired. I'll get the new one installed this weekend!

1999 subaru Legacy Brighton can I put in Outback Springs
Used struts are fine as long as they are good. As far as new, go with KYB st.ruts, and just use the old springs. I have never used the trailing arm brackets and haven't had any issues. The wheel isn't that close to the front of the wheel well. I can imagine if you tried to squeeze some huge tires in there it would be, but you'd run into other issues as well by that time. If it was an Impreza, I would definitely use the trailing arm brackets though.

1999 subaru Legacy Brighton can I put in Outback Springs
You can, but you don't need to. The rear wheels really don't get that far off alignment. I ran the one I did for MANY miles with no tire wear on the rear.

1999 subaru Legacy Brighton can I put in Outback Springs
Yes, Outback struts will bolt in and work just fine. They will cause a little more wear on the axles, but not much at all. And it's been done many times. May want to get an alignment afterwards though.

Great to hear it's holding up well. It would still be awesome if we could get a more detailed mod list! If you don't mind....

Got a great opportunity to do some trading to end of with these! Projector retrofit with parts from Theretrofitsource.com with Morimoto HID's. The light output is awesome, and I love the way they look.

DIY Front wheel bearings - worth it ??
Wouldn't hurt, but at the same time, if money is an issue, or whatever, now you'll know how to get everything apart, so replacing the axle won't be a hrad thing to do in the future.
