  1. There was one on Ebay a while back. They're definitely not common cars.
  2. Well... it's illegal to ship beer across state lines. Next time someone makes an exodus out west I'll make sure they bring a case of it- to be distributed evenly among the west-coasters. You guys will all run over here once you have a taste.
  3. Budweiser. Ugh. You west coast guys need to try some Yuengling. One sip and you'll decide to move out here!
  4. The LSD was *available* on anything. Jack the rear end of the car up and turn a wheel. If the other wheel turns the same direction, it's LSD. MANY 3.7 non-LSD diffs were made. It's most likely one of those.
  5. They should clip onto the metal side of the buckle on the lap belt. When you have the lap belt buckled, the hole for the latch should just barely protrude.
  6. Probably wouldn't work. The XT roof is curved quite a bit more than the wagon's.
  7. Any 85-94 EA82 4-door. The RX sedan has the exact same trunk as any of them.
  8. Tire size and wear. If the tires are mismatched it can lock in 4WD. It's really bad for the car to drive it like that. If it comes out of 4WD on gravel/snow/wet grass then you've found your problem.
  9. Oh, and make sure you leave room for the driver when you pack all that stuff!
  10. Gotta have the critical wrenches... 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, and 19mm Helps to have a ratchet with a socket in each size as well as a wrench in each size. Sometimes one works better than the other, and sometimes you need to use both to work a nut and bolt. If you plan to change axles, a 36mm axle nut socket and a 3/16" pin punch are essential. Hammers come in a lot more useful than you think. Gotta have a decent set of screwdrivers too. One of the best tools I have is kind of unexpected- it's a 2 foot long steel pipe. I always keep it in the car. Works great for putting on the handle of a ratchet/lug wrench to bust tough bolts loose, and it's also good for prying. Also could be used as a weapon- I feel better having it in the backseat when I'm driving around late at night. It's one of the most useful tools I've ever gotten. Let's see... what else... Vice grips and pliers of various sizes are great. A floor jack and jackstands are essential for working with the car raised. Damn... I got carried away there. That's $300 worth of tools at least. Start witha GOOD socket/wrench set and a floor jack, and build your collection from there. That's how I started 3 years ago, now I have enough to totally fill the trunk of an XT.
  11. Hey Scot... this wouldn't happen to be the same Scot who is Jay's brother, would you?
  12. Skip- the XT6 guys have been wondering about this as well. If they make any progress on it before you do, I'll keep you posted.
  13. So are we trying this again on the 13th or what? As it's getting into the middle of the week, I really need to make my plans. If we're still on I'll be there for sure.
  14. Thanks for the link! Here's the Lucas article: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm
  15. Are all your tires the same size, brand, and tread wear? Try driving onto a loose surface- gravel or wet grass- and try unlocking it there. Flip the switch to off and drive straight in both forward and reverse. If it turns off, then it's most likely a tire issue.
  16. I agree with the MilesFox method of stereo wiring. I've done this with 3 different head units in 5 different Subarus, and every single one worked fine. I can wire and install a head unit in about half an hour, and they've all worked great. I've heard some people say that a common ground system can damage a head unit. I find this hard to believe, as all my stereos have LOTS of Subaru hours on them. I've used my wagons for tailgating before football games and for music for camping, and I also drive about 1500-2000 miles a month, stereo blasting the whole time. Never had any problems.
  17. DO NOT USE LUCAS!! I can't think of the site that did this test, anyone have it? Lucas causes the oil to foam like CRAZY when it's whipped around at high speed. The pictures they had on this site were amazing. If anyone has it, please post it. I'm pretty buzzed right now and can't remember many details, somebody fill the guys in? Before I knew about the problems with Lucas, I used it. It actually made my lifter clatter worse. I've found that Subarus benefit best from half a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil with every oil change.
  18. Free Brats for everyone, KFC, and never having to work in the cold... Sounds like a nice place!
  19. I think he means if they still come down and rest in their proper "off" position.
  20. He also failed to put on the fun tops in the second cartoon. Oh well. Anyone see the episode of the Simpsons where Bart may have to repeat the 4th grade? He prays for a snow day, gets it, and then when they show all the kids playing in the snow... parked on the street is a red Gen1 Brat.
  21. Here in WV we haven't had a thing. They're predicting 2-5" today and tonight, but I haven't seen a flake yet.
  22. No, Morgantown WV. We go to yards that are actually about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA. They're almost the size of the almighty Harry's, though the conditions are a lot nastier and the prices are a little higher. Always an adventure though. Skip goes with us sometimes when the weather is nice, and we've gone up there with scrapdaddytatum before too. Oh and for Dennis... this is the area where we can always find PBR in bottles. If we make this run next week instead... want some?
  23. Me and Jeremy plan to be in Allentown at 9AM. Some of you guys know how hardcore I am about junkyards. Anyone got directions to the place? My cell is 304-685-1572- if coverage is rumored to be spotty in the area, don't get upset if I don't answer. Just leave a voice mail.
