with my wrx, i think i went 115k before i was able to get the belt service. get the work done, they said everthing still looked good, but its probably still for the best that it was changed out anyway. i do trust the dealership that i go to, the service department people are actual subaru people, the service write knows her subarus an even drives one herself.

Can you buy new Brat rockers online?
subyrally replied to ragingbull's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i had my rocker patches custom made from a metal supply company in my town. i think it was about $20 in material and about $50 for the labor to bend them into shape. I just took them a peice of my rockers that i had cut off and they matched the bends and cut it to the length i needed. keep in mind, this was 8 years ago. not sure what pricing would be like now, lol. -
Not sure if it would be a possibility or not, but the lady in the parts department at Anapoilis Subaru in Maryland is amazing. not sure if they will ship parts over seas, but it couldnt hurt to ask. Edit: are you in florida or Ireland? lol

looking good so far, cant wait to see them bolted to the car.

just a random thought, but i have a spyder manifold that i had the xt6 throttle body fit onto, or in my case, i had the manifold adapted to fit the throttle. since i didnt have any programmers or tuning abilities for the computer, i never could get it to run right on my rx. think that would help your project out any?

may he rest in peace and always be remembered. i miss will, even though i never met him in person, we discussed ideas frequently over email and chat programs back in the day. rpholz, did you get the parts? were they what you are looking for?

btw, a guy i know has a shell from an 04 sti that he will sell me for cheap. he buys and parts cars, so i have the feeling that he was just going to scrap the shell anyway. i figure ill go at it with some drills and saws and get the parts i need. going to try to get some of the sheet metal as well, might not be the exact fit for fixing some of the rust issues, but it will get me closer than i am now. i just need to figure out how i am going to get the parts home now, lol .

did anyone happen to save the progress pics from that guy's build? looks like he moved or deleted the pics.

Blow thru Maf setup??? Anybody
subyrally replied to 2K4 STI's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
wow, talk about digging up the dead, lol. i would have said about the same though, it has definite benefits, especially if you are running a custom setup. ive lost count of how many times i had an intercooler pipe come loose or a hose clamp slip when i was first messing around with turbo engines. it was annoying trying to figure out what was going on when the car wouldnt run due to the boost leak after the maf. -
dont think i have forgotten about you and the backing plates, i have been busy this week, but i am going to try to get you a shipping quote this weekend. i will let you know what i find out.
-
that might be doable, i will have to look into finding a wrecked wrx with good front clip. hmmm, thanks for the ideas.
-
looking at it on my computer now, i can see that it is an exhaust hanger. i wasnt able to get a good look the other day, my bad, lol.

i would pay so much money for an xv ute with a diesel and manual trans. i would trade my wrx for it in a heartbeat.
