  1. i got my brat with a massive amount of rust to repair and it barely ran, actually, getting on the trailer was the last time it moved under power, for $350 back in 07.
  2. i photoshopped an impreza rs front bumper onto a brat once, but that was the farthest i got. it is actually very close though. if you do it, be sure to take lots of pics and let us see how it turns out.
  3. nice loyale, you should be ok with those points for the stands, just keep an eye on the pinch welds, on some of the weaker cars (rust) they can collapse. in the rear, i usually woul lift it by the diff and support it by the mustache bar on either side. on the front, i usually support it on the subframe. i think, its been too long since ive been under one of my ea cars.
  4. i know about them, i used to know a few of their drivers, but they are pretty damn far from me as well. there is also a rally school in florida, or at least there was a few years back, they also have a spy training school as well. i wanted to go there so bad when i heard of it.
  5. we all know you are acknowledged for causing trouble at the carlisle import show btw, still have the pic of you holding the maxwell house can next to my exhaust on the rx. (somewhere) ahhh, good times.
  6. pity you guys are on the other side of the country, if you were on the east coast, id be all over checking things out and coming in for a session. welcome to the club guys.
  7. welcome to the club, yeah, i know i am late in saying it, but i havent been as active lately. i know a few ladies that turn wrenches on their own cars and what not. just keep it up and dont worry if you need to ask for advice, this is a good community. just beware the leghumpers
  8. i just started a new job that pays rather well, so maybe i can actually save enough money to do my swap, finally.
  9. now if only you were stateside, i would love to have someone that has finished a brat available to help out with my brat. one day, it will happen, im sure of it.
  10. wow, that is one clean brat. polar opposite of mine, lol. good to see another one on the road. mine will make it back to the road one of these days, i hope.
  11. i started acquiring parts to ej and 5 lug swap my brat. its been sitting in the driveway since 07. i got sick of trying to figure out the ea81 and the carb on it, so its been sitting there under a car cover for the last few years waiting for me to get the rest of the parts to do something with it. ive also beentrying to find someone on the east coast that would be willing to help me out, but then again, ive been busy with too many other projects in the last year.
  12. very cool sofar. i cant wait to see it all done. i am getting ready to start my wrx brat project soon.
  13. i am going all out on this car though, only reason i was wanting to get new parts is to keep with the rest of the new bits going into it. it getting a wrx swap when i get my tax returns back. i sooo cant wait, lol.
  14. if it comes down to it, i have the bars from my rx to use, so i guess it doesnt really matter if its available, but id like to know that i had a good part to put on. but yeah, its what ever.
  15. my friend might be able to get a better price than if i were to try by myself. i think the dealer she works for might be an authorized whiteline dealer or something like that.either way, she has contacts with them. i know that she is the type to find a way to get what you need, usually going above and beyond. either way, it wouldnt hurt.
  16. awsome, i will send a copy of that to my friend. maybe she can get ahold of some stuff for us. if anyone even wants it.
  17. interesting, can you get me the info for it? i can at least pass it on to my friend at the dealership, maybe she can get ahold of em that way.
  18. i was thinking about using a zinc galvanizing primer on it when i get it cleaned up, then i want to hit it with a good primer, metalic base coat primer, the metalic purple that i want to go on it, then maybe a heavy duty wheel paint clear coat over that. with wet sanding on the later coats for a nice shine on a part few will ever see, lol. i am going with flat black and glossy metalic purple on the brat, it will look sweet when its done, but thats a ways off.
  19. yeah, thats kinda what i was thinking, ive got the ea82 swaybar available since i stripped out my rx, its just a rolling shell right now. ill just go that route. on a side note, any one know a good way to paint the swaybar with out the paint flaking off? had that problem on my impreza a while back. i stripped it, cleaned, primed and painted it, within a few months, it was just rust all the way across the bar.
  20. i know whiteling used to make a rear swaybar kit for the brat and other ea81 cars, but from what i hear, dont anymore. i talked to the parts department at annapolis subaru, a whiteline dealer. i talked with jackie, she said that her destributor said they arent available anymore. she also said that she sent an email to whiteline in australia and is waiting for a response on that. then the idea of seeing if any one else would want a kit, we figured that if there was enough interest in it, they might make up a few kits as a one time run. so, would anyone be willing to get one if they were available again?
  21. i can dig that, i agree with the wanting of a late brat design though since i have a gen 2 brat. id like to see a later model brat in black and purple, so that i could have one that matches my brat, lol.
  22. subyrally replied to subie94's topic in Off Road
omg, i want that sambar, lol that and the rally car on tracks, thats hot. i still cant believe that he had that car drifting with the tracks on it. wow, just wow.
  23. i might try to make it this year. ill be able to roll up in my wrx since the brat wont be ready in time (unless i get a lot of help before then) and the rx is dead and not going to come back again. not necromancing the rx anymore, too much rust and bad vibes. ill know if i can make it closer to the date.
