  1. i might have to make that trip some time, not sure about this weekend though, going out to play paintball. might have to do some cutting a rewelding to get the exhaust to come out the sides on my brat, i think there is a support peice behind the rocker section that the side steps are located on. but i should be able to drill out the spot welds on that and move it back about 3"-4" to make room for the mufflers to mount up. i am actually using a dual cansiter muffler that i used to have on my impreza, basically, its two small mufflers side by side with a small y-pipe and some brackets holing them together. should sound just fine when done.
  2. how far are you from maryland? id like to take a look in person at the work you have done. did you do the exhaust yourself or did you take it to a shop?
  3. i am planning on running a y-pipe after the cat in my brat and then having the pipes come out either side behind the cab area. basically where the side steps are on the brat behind the doors. im sure you could do the same thing on your wagon and just run the pipes under the rocker. but it all depends on what you are going for as well. i personally love to hear the exhaust note over the buzzy hopnda next to me in traffic,
  4. isnt that the brat that was posted for sale here a few months back for a rather large sum of $$? either way, that is one clean looking brat. be very careful about the mods you make to it seeing as it is in such good condition. you dont want to risk messing up something that rare. but no matter what you do with it, be sure to take lots of pictures for us so that we can see the progress yo make. and lastly, have fun with it.
  5. glad to hear that everyone is ok, the car did what it was designed to do, race in rallies and save lives.
  6. va beach is considered "mid atlantic" and isnt this club already in existance? i think the description pretty makes me think of the usmb. but if things get rolling on it and there are chapters, id be happy to head up maryland.
  7. dont give up connie. just step back, catch your breath and start on it again. you know you have friends here that are backing you. some in person, others in spirit. you know that if you need anything, all you need to do is ask. take a few days off of messing with the car, gather your thoughts, then tackle that beast. just remember to take your time and never be afaid to ask for help if you need it. thats why we are here. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!
  8. this could get interesting. definatly going to be watching this.
  9. those would be fun on my brat, soft for driving around town, hard for takingit to the tack.
  10. i have the electrical chunk of the ignition, just not hte lock cylinder. yours if you need it, just send me your shipping info.
  11. dont give up connie, it will all work out in the end.
  12. definatly get rid of as much rust as you can. and remember to cut past the rust to be sure you got it all. if you can, i would reccomend using heavy gauge steel to patch what you cut out and use the angle steel to reinforce the areas. make sure that you take steps to prevent rust as well. get weld trough primer on the back sides of the steel to help prevent exposure. the weld through primer should be high in zink, and if i remember correctly, zinc draws corrsion away from the steel, which if anything, will slow down the rate that any new rust will form from the inside. if you can get the back sides of the fresh metal after welding, try to get some sealer or a high quality paint on the metal as well. currently, my brat has still got rust in those areas, but i dont have a welder capable of penetration on thick steel. then again, my welder doesnt even work now that i think of it, lol.
  13. very nice. looks like you all had fun with the wagon.
  14. hey man, i could definatly stand to have a set of these. is it $10 for the pair of rings? either way, hit me up, i want to send you some money so i can get my brat suspension done. send me a pm with your payment info. ill get you some $$. peace tim
  15. another bit of advice, dont do a hard launch in the car. get it rolling before you putyour foot down. the 5 spd trans in the car is great, but can flex under a hard load like a launch. i wouls also highly reccomend that you use synthetic oil in it and only NGK spark plugs. i suggest the NGK Iridium plugs, i use them in my impreza, brat, and rx. other than that, i would say to just enjoy the ride and have as much fun with it as you can.
  16. i like those pugs, in fact, i have the same style, but mine are painted a bronze color. they look good on the xt.
  17. look up "cobb" tuning. i think they have a few parts for the n/a 2.5l engine.
  18. a can of seafoam in the tank might also clear it up as well.
  19. zukiru, you have a pm. i might could help you out. maybe:lol:
  20. looks like you guys had fun. just remember, everything is better with boost.
  21. if i had the time. or better notice, i could try to come out to look at it. or if you could get it towed out to me. ive rebuilt a couple ea82t's but i dont always have the time to travel across the state, even though its only a little over an hour each way. ifyou could get the car to me, or at least closer than severn, i might be able to help. also, if you can get some pics of what you have going on, i might be able to help out that way as well. hit me up sometime, i am sure we can figure it out.
  22. congrats guys. you were soo close, like 35-45 minutes from me. would have been cool to know you were that close, but oh well, good luck at VIR.
  23. good luck man, hoping its just some kids taking a joy ride and its not being thrashed or stripped. bump for you. good luck
