  2. almost makes me want to get a hitch for my impreza. i know that could tow what you managed to pull wiith the wagon. great, now in thinking about things again.
  3. dude, this makes me want you to come to the cookout more than ever, i want to see your car. i need some old school suby support out there.
  4. dude, you gotta come out here once i get my engine built, i want you to help me tune mine.
  5. im still working on finding you the tranny, but the rew ive sen that were reasonably priced are a bit of a drive from here. i would go get em if i had the time off of work.
  6. you wouldnt happen to have a set of nice 17" tires now would you?
  7. we need a rally cr style brush bar, something for mounting driving lights and what not. somethine that would look cool on a rx or impreza.
  8. damn, thats expinsive. i remember seeing a double or triple core from radiators.com/ i thik it was like $125 or something.
  9. well, looks like the cook out is also becoming a swap meets, bring anything you are wanting to sell and maybe we can set up stuffs.
  10. i run blizzacks on my impreza, the best tires ive had on it since i got it.
  11. ive notice a lot of rudeness from car quest employees, i actually applied at one location here and then when i called to check on the app, which i was told to call that day, i was rudely told that the job had been filled a few days earlier, the real question is why did they keep stringing me along just to tell me to screw off.
  12. that s**t wouldnt fly at my store, i currently work at advance. my store is great, we go the extra mile for customer service, although i get in trouble for being too helpful and taking too much time. ive heard that there are a few craptastic stores in northern va. advance auto is a great store, there just seem to be a few idiots running that store down there. everything ive ordered has been right. the only time i know that something wasnt right was when a guy cam in to buy brakes for his lincoln continental, the brakes the computer came up with had the wrong brackets on em. hey, even the worst advacne is better than pepboys, at least in my area.
  13. nissans do suck to work on. try changing a power steering pump on an altima.
  14. why not put the rx trans in one of your cars?? i thought you sold the limited slip. i am going to the yard tomarrow, you want me to see about getting a pair of trannies for you scrapdaddy? anyone else want me to looking into stuff at the yard??
  15. im not talking about puting a cage outside the car, but you could tie the cabin cage into thefront struts and the bumper to streingthen the chassis and increas rigidity. that and cages are just cool, besides, all you gotta do is add a couple more stickers to the car to make up for the added weight, four new stickers is what, 80+hp>?
  16. the best bulbs i have used were actually jdm blue "ultra white" bulbs. they were very much blue, but i never had any issues with visability, they were great in rain and fog as well. i second the vote for the silverstar head lights, they are bright and clan light and they last quite a while, ive had mine in the rx since i got it and the impreza for the last year almost.
  17. you should work in a full roll cage while you have the sheet metal off. increase structural sections and the such.
  18. the engine was lifted up by means of a jack under the tranny, i had to lift it up a few inches to get the oil pan out to change the gasket on it. now when i lower it back down, it doesnt line up. the mounts are at the outside fronts of the holes and i cant get the engine to slide back about 1/4" to get the mounts in place.
  19. the prep work ws easy. hte only hard part sofar was getting the cam carriers i and i accomplished that already, not i just need to get the engine mount into their holes in the crosss members, sofar thats getting to be annoying cause the power steering resivior is in contact with the hood. is there any trick to getting the mounts into their holes without unbolting the tranny and using an engine hoist? cause i really dont want to undo the tranny and i dont have a hoist.
  20. dont worry about it gary. ill get new rods most likely, i am already going to get new pistons.
  21. i want to rally, that would be so fun. maybe i will enter some beginer races if i ever get a project car up and running right.
