  1. one thing i didnt mention, i have a full 2.5" turbo back exhaust on my rx with a new 3-way cat.
  2. i know the dark metalic blue on my 86 rx is called twilight blue metallic.
  3. i gota cherry bomb turbo 2 muffler on my rx, it sounds nice. i only paid $15 for it got a kinda a deep low tone to it and is baffeled, so it will pass inspection in most states.///
  4. subau engines were designed after the old porche engines back in the day. but subaru was the one that started the watercooling of engines in the equasion.
  5. yeah, gary, just putting it in gear isnt enough to to loosen the bolt, ive mosed the car trying that in the rx. you have to have something solid to keep it in place when you loosen it. the cranking the car over with a long breaker in the bolt works really well tohugh.
  6. first, remove the intake assembly, then below that on the bell housing will be a little rubber cober for the timing marks basically. pop that off nd wedge a flat head screw driver between the teeth of the ring gear and hte block. basically, stick the screw drver in there and start to turn the bolt, eventually it will catch and lock it in place. i reccomend using a breaker bar and an extention on that, like a cheater bar. i used the arm from the gazel excercize machine over the handle of the breaker bar.just revers the the process to reinstall/

    need a driver?
  8. pretty common issue in the 4eat tranny, they have an electronic center diff that like to burn out basicaly, at around 120k miles. i have seen a lot of older legacies that are no longer awd due to the diff burning out. have a mechanic look at i, they might be able to repair or replace it.
  9. the injectors arent in the head, they are in the runners on the manifold. you might be able to run two injectors on the runners aiming em at the inlet port on the heads.
  10. yeah, the best bet is either through the throttle body or the pcv valve. i reccomend not usuing more than 1/2 of a can through the intake and no more than one can per 3000 miles. it is sensor safe, but if you use it too often, it can be damaging.i sell that stuff every day and swear by it.
  11. idle air control valve, they let just enough air past the throttle plate when your foot is off the gas. keeps it from stalling.
  12. nice to see you finally made it here, by far the best old school site ive seen sofar.
  13. try a new thermostat.
  14. just go to your local parts store, apc has a set of led replacement bulbs that arent too expinsive
  15. a can of sea foam. the greatest thing ever made for cars.
  16. hmmm, not sure if youd get enough fuel with spfi to run boost, you might have an issue with running lean. also, you might need a different cam, turbo cams have less overlap than n/a cams. it could work, but it wouldnt be easy. it might hurt you at low end unless tou can get the turbo to spool up earlier than it normally does. any thing is possible if you take your time and have some money to burn. research everything first, figure out what boost range you will want, where your rpm range will be for the power band. that should help you determine what youll need to do for your build up.
  17. fel pro has a set of perma torque gaskets, you torque em once and they stay torqued. i sell them everyday at the parts store.i have never had any complaits about the gaskets that ive sold. most are sold to regular customers that are in at least once a week.
  18. de catting it shouldnt hurt anything but the environment.
  19. way to go will!! theres no stopping youo. congrats and keep up the good work.
  20. my door locks work fine, my issue is with thee windows, they all work fine, unless i use the panel on the drivers side. i think its that the switch corrodes or something like that, the pass side window will only move slowly, but if i use the switch on the pass door, it goes up and down like its new. gotta love mystery resistance in the lines.
  21. this would be good info to aquire.
  22. could be like my rx, the little pin for the hill holder cable rattles like hell. i thought it was a lifter till i put my finger on the pin, then the engine was quiet again.
