  1. hey gary, i looked it up today, the valve cover gasket set for the xt6 includes all the gromets and is a next day order. the price is like $26 a set.
  2. hmmm, indeed. nice work. is that a stock cat welded up in there?
  3. are you sure that each? i thought they came in a set, besdies, i get 20% off, ill look at it today when i get there.
  4. i think that we sell em at advance. ill look tomarrow if i remember. call my cell and remind me sometime,
  5. hmmm, i need to look into this.
  6. hmmm, indeed. when you gonna have them ready for sale?? i might be interested in a set in a bout a month or so.
  7. hhhmmm, $200 a set?!? i think i could swing that after the holiday season. im thinking b-day prisent for myself in feb. who makes these studs??
  8. i was fiending last night, i needed the oldschool fix.
  9. to run the impreza engine, you would need a lot of work. i would try to get as much power from what you have before moving up to a different engine. where are you located?? sounds like you have a cool project underway though. good luck and get some pics of the action.
  10. looks like what i used, only reccomendation on that would be to move the rubber hose from direct contact with the turbo. get a stock intake hose if you can find a spare, and put that at the turbo inlet and then get a 2" threaded pipe union thingy to connect the two hoses. i hope that makes sence to you, it did in my head, but ive only been awake for like 15 minutes now.
  11. make sure its clean, and then hit it with rubber under coating or spray on truck bed liner.should give a good level of rust protection.
  12. there is a company that does rings, i think they are actually name gapless rings, but i hear that the no gap rings are actuall a waste of money, they apperently wear out faster than a standard piston ring. the same company makes regualr rings that are of very high quality and used a lot in racing from what i hear.
  13. hardware store would be the cheapest fix, just dont use the plastic pvc bits near the turbo itself, they will work for a few runs, but then start warping and melting. i ended up using a peice of threaded steel pipeing about 2" in diameter and 2" in length to connect the hose on the turbo to the rest of my intake. i havent ad any melting issues since. if you must ge the stock part, the dealer will be happy to hunt one down for something like $60 or so. at least from my expiriance, ive gone through 4 original inlet hoses, they were all used and all fell apart on me. you might be better off building something more reliable.
  14. the pins are smaller, the skirt is longer and there are no impressions for te valves. the longer skirts might make it less prone to piston slap. but thats about the only thing i see of any value with those pistons. personally, id get my money back and go with someone that works with these cars on a regualr basis.
  15. thats how mine is set up, it runs great, right up t0 8psi on mine though. bu it did end up with a boost controller put in that spot though.
  16. hmmm, indeed, im thinking that i might go with a slightly smaller gring, maybe a rally/street grind. hey gary, let me know when you get it fixed. actually, if you havent already done so, you should stop by frederick motorsports and have scott build you a larger exhaust. he does excellent work.
  17. ive only ever seen that happen on cars with really worn pads or loose mounting bolts
  18. watch out, there are people here that will tell you its impossible. i think you should be able to do it, you will need a new ecu and at least the engine wiring harness. you will need better exhaust as well. as for the people saying it wont fit, i think that the left turbo needs to be moved to fit it in the car, then you will need heat sheilding around the turbos as well. but other tan that, i dont really know cause i havent had a chance to do anything with that engine. all i can really say is, take your time, dont skimp on the swap and dont cut corners. and on top of all that, good luck, id like to see this done as i cant afford a twin turbo engine of my own. peace tim
  19. i9f the car ran at all with deisel, the cat mgiht be toast. there was an elderly guy that put deisel in his legacy and the car still ran, but it destroyed the cats and it needed a major fuel and intake system clensing. the car never really ran right after that though. good luck with getting it fixed.
  20. oooohhhh, that might be cool to get.
  21. sounds cool will, keep us updated on your progress. how well is it running with the higher comp engine?
  22. i just noticed that you are near wellsboro, you should fix that car up and run it in the rally there next year. that would be a freaking sweet.
  23. you might be able to find a fwd tranny for it pretty cheap if you dig around a little bit. i personally wouldnt run it in a derby though, but in a compact class, it should hold its own. all i can say is " have fun"
