  1. if anyone wants to get these injectors new, i found em at work for about $55 each. gp sorenson part # 8001010n http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=GPS&mfrpartnumber=8001010N&parttype=677&ptset=A for any one that hasnt been to parts america, youll have to put in your zip code before you can view parts. i work for advance auto parts, but they own parts america from what i understand.
  2. im not really worried about that, i was going to spell it slightly different anyways. good luck and let us know what you go with.
  3. your mechanic might have apoint saying that thats normal, if you have a free flowing exhaust, the car makes a lot more noises than it does stock. i have headers and a larger catback with a non restrictive muffler, my impreza pops, burbles, and such wehn decelerating and if i just tap the gas when slowing down. every ejXX ive seen with a performance exhaust does that to an extent. now if you have a factory exhaust and its making popping noises, you might want to get the internals looked at and get your air fuel ratios checked.
  4. hmmm, wrong forum bud, but it sounds like the first signs of head gasket failure or possibly a clogged radiator.
  5. dont waste your money, it will just hurt your car more than anything.
  6. whats this about stronger less expinsive studs?? cant wait to see it finished man, keep up the good work.
  7. why?!? what is wrong with these people? why not a honda? we need to throw peanut butter and jelly samaches at this guy and his home. thats just not cool. now im pissed.
  8. id be down to roll to obx. my dad sells houses out there. i have been wanting an excuse to get down there to drive the beach. lets do it this summer.
  9. come one will, you cant give up on us now. your always the one telling us that the ea82 is great. there are ways around the head gaskets, screw cometic, they just want your money, hell, the used to make gaskets for these engines from the engine builders ve talked to, they all said that o-ringing the block will solve this issue with head gasket failure. and its not too expinsive to get done. c'mon will, dont give in to bad luck or corperate bs from te manufacturers
  10. found some universal 534cc top feed injectors online for fairly cheap http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/blitz_top_feed_injectors/31220/ any one know how well those will work? here is the page i found em on http://www.prostreetonline.com/store/fuel/
  11. where exactly are you located? i might could use some parts of you are going to scrap it.
  12. hmm, makes a bit of sense there. granted, i am missing the electrical section of my fsm and never had any idleing issues other than too high, which is fixed. but i have no idea why i though that was the iac valve, i think its from selling ford iac valves all day at work. im used to seeing something that stands out.
  13. i think that the nissan injectors that you nabs are 185cc at 45psi, where as the subaru injectors are 185cc at 36psi. thus when you plug them up to the subaru system, they flow less than normal cause they dont have the pressure required.
  14. that is also the idle air control valve if im not mistaken.
  15. thats my plan. besides, i thought that the gaskets were cut by a laser using computer inputs. i read somewhere that someone had come up with the cad designs for the gaskets and then had em made in copper or steel for about $75 a set. eh, i dont know, thats why im going to o-ring the block.
  16. personally, i love both the new and old, i have the 86 rx and the 00 impreza rs. granted, i like the rx a little bit more than the impreza, its more of a drivers car. you are more in touch with things in te rx than the impreza. the old cars have soul. the best thing about the old school cars is that parts are cheap and when i cant find em in a store, i can get em from gary, lol.
  17. come on will, quite being a tease/
  18. that rx is hot. hopefully mine will turn out that nicely.
  19. i see that you found it john. try cleaning it up really good and replacing the wires if they are bad, then let us know if that helps.
  20. ill have to give that a try when i get off of work this afternoon.
  21. dont remember what one i turned, but i remember that it didnt go very far and had no difference in the idle. either way, the throttle cable isnt the culprit, its got the full range of movement that it is meant to.
  22. thanks gary. ill give that a try if i ever get any free time. i dont know if ill solder the wires to the sensor, but ill us a bunch of dielectric grease and new wiring to the plug.
  23. i tried the screw a while back, no change. i need to replace the coolant temp sensor anyways, i already have a new one.
