not sure what its worth, i think i paid like $25 for it and a dead coil. i know it works casue i used in my rx with another coil back when i was trying to figure out another issue. what you want to spend on it plus shipping i guess. prolly like $15 plus shipping. unless that is too much, then we can work somethnig out for you. hit me up in a pm or on aol instant messanger.

the guy i used to work for put tractor tires on his son's ea82 coupe... had to take the front fenders off to fit em, but im sure there is nothing hed get stuck in. tractor tires do strange burnots though.

boosting power in a ea82t?
intercooler piping is what you nee to get sized right, you dont want it too small casue then it become a restriction, too large and you loose your boost trying to pressurize the piping, you need to find a happy medium, if you get it right, you shouldnt have much if any lag caused by the plumbing, in theory.

i nearly forgot about this thread. yeah, i had got the rx on the road, the first engine blew a piston and the second blew head gaskets, i just got it running again last week, now i need to get it inspected and reregistered. once agian, i am looking at trying to get ahold of a new header for the rx, maybe one that i i could have an interchangeable inlet for the turbos. same thing with the down pipe. that way i could run the stocker till im ready to run the td04... that and i wont have to get a new header when i swap the turbo.

R-134a retrofit kit for a GL-10?
just thought you should know, 134 isnt as cold as r12. if you can find someone that can replace the 12 for you, jump on it. r12 was much more efficiant, but i think it asnt enviromentally happy, sure, happy works, in the case of an accident. it is still available, you just neeed a mechanic with a liscence to et ahold of it, that or a home hvac tech, i thnk. i work at an autoparts store, the peopl that have converted from r12 didnt seem to happy about the swap.

the machine shop my first engine is at will be doing a port and polish for me for about $600 or so... this is also a shop that builds race winning engines, so i know he knows what he id doing. i just need to get the money for the work i want.

enjoy the rs, i have the 2000 rs, i love it more than anything else. granted, i also enjoy my rx, but the impreza was my first car.

that sounds like what most likely happened with mine. i am actually going out to run it for a little while. hell, if i dont sell it, i might actually drive it again, its a fun little car to romp around in. also, if i keep it. i might look into fitting a set of audi tt corner mount intercoolers to it. hmm, that could be a fun challenge.

well, looks like the smoke was just the crap left over from before the head gasket job. probably just what was left in the cat... either way, the lifter tick has gone away and it didnt smoke at all tonight. now it looks like all thats left is to find out where the little coolant leak it and figure out if the exhasut manifold is cracked.

well, i dont think thats coolant burning, but it stopped smoking today and the lifters quieted down a bit. the lifters are no longer deafining.i still think the manifold might have a crack under the heat shroud. i can see what looks like exhaust streaming out from the head sheild.

eh, just scrub the rims really good, then use a high quality wax on em, that will keep the brake dust from sticking so easily and make em easier to wash the next time.

yeah, mine smoked before the head gasket job, which is why i did it, and smokes just as bad, i think its still burning coolant, at least it still stinks like coolant in the smoke. i think that the lifter thats making all the noise might be the one that wouldnt come out of it's hole when i had the engine apart. its making more power than it did before the head gasket replacement, but its still smoking more than is acceptable. it was so bad that when i was backing into the the drive way, i couldnt see anything behind the car. and i couldnt really hear anything over the ticking....

i just got my rx back to life tonight after resealing the engine and putting in new head gaskets. it still smokes as bad as it did before the head gasket job and i think i now have the famous tick of death. sounds like the lifters are ticking about as loud as the exhaust at 2k rpm. my frined could hear the ticking from down the street when i did a test drive. on a positive note, the car has a lot more power than it used to and doesnt over heat anymore. but it has a couple new leaks here and there, looks like there might also be an issue with the exhaust manifold as well, possibly a crak on the driverside near the flange... why is it that every accomplishment is folowed by twice as many failures. damn, if i could get the engine done up right, i could finally sell the damn thing. all i want is a decent brat. granted, i love the rx, its a blast to drive when its running right, i just cant keep throwing money into it to try to fix it.

Brat went through emissions testing today. Some good news and some bad news.
thats why im glad its ever other year hear and gladly, my impreza gets plugged in and in less than 3 minutes im in and out.

Got Skidplate?
my skid plate got welded to the underside of an old mercades car that the boss's wife kept bashing holes through the oil pan. im thinking about looking into the primative racing skid plate, that thing is huge and sturdy. ive heard that you can even use it as a lift point for a jack.

it very well might be the pump, but mine made the same noise till i replaced the rack. well, actually, it went away once i got fluid to stay in the system, the rack was leaking bad enough that i couldnt keep it full.... just check your fluid.

it wouldnt really be the pump going out, but the seal might go cause of lack of use. i had to get a new rack cause of that. i noticed a bit of dripping under the car, looked at the rack boot, poked it and got a oil bath. the seals had blown out from sitting un used for so long. granted, my car sa for a long time before that.
