  1. the legacy b4 was a beast from japan. i want to say that it had like 280 hp, but i really dont remember, i havent payed much attention to it. i just know the car is amazing.
  2. NO!!! pics now dagnabit. will, im sure what ever you end up with will wow everyone that sees it. good luck with the work on it, cant wait to see the fineshed project
  3. i have a spyder and a xt-6 throttle body, but they arent together or on the engine, not yet anyways. im hoping to have em find their way together soon.
  4. tlak to the guys at ram preformance engines, they mentioned larger stainless steel valves for the ea82t.
  5. if im not mistaken, the rear wheel wells are metal in a brat. your bes bet would possibly be to get sone mew metal shaped and welded in. also, i think that the wheel well is also structural where it holds the rear struts. i might be wrong on this though, i just fell outta bed like 5 minutes ago. im sure that someone with more expiriance with brats and other ea81 cars will chime in soon though. peace tim
  6. ok, good news, looks lie the cookout is on, just moved back about two hours from when i wanted to start. i got things figured out at work and will be able to host the cookout at 2 instead of 12. ive updated the first post with some info and what not. peace tim
  7. i think that i might have to change the time of the meet, i gotta see if i can change my schedule at work, even though i requested that day off, two people got canned and im scheduled to for throught the cookout. ive got to talk to my manager to see if maybe i can open and maybe got outta there around 2 or so, if thats the option, then ill just have to move the cookout back a couple hours. ill know by tomarrow, sucks cause ive been planning this since last year. and i requested the time iff over a month ago. ill keep you all posted
  8. after the cookout, theres thoughts of ghost hunting or go cart racing. if we co go carting, id suggest that you bring about $30 to run a few races.
  9. grease didnt work for me. when in doubt, duck it. i used a bit of duct tape over the rockers and that held em. i managed to get teh carrier back in after a bit of though and couple cigarettes. after i cooled off a bit and started thinking rationally, i finally got it on. granted, i noticed that i cracked the back side of the timing belt cover, not that i usually run them on the car. are the back side covers at the cam gears neccisary? i know that the one by the oil pump is needed to keep a gear at the right position, but what about the one thats cracked?
  10. i am trying to finish my head gasket job on my rx, the tear down asn head gasket replacement went by with out any real issues, but now that i am trying to reassemble the engine, i am hitting walls left and right. i am doing the job in the car as i dont have a garage or an engine hoist. i cant keep the rockers on the lifters. everytime i go toget the cam carrier on, one or two rockers fall off, then when i get those back on, the others fall off. im getting rather frustrated with this cause i really want to get it running before next weekend. i know there is a way to get this together in the car as a few poeple have already done it before. if i had an engine hoist and a garage this would have been done the other week. are there any tricks to getting the cam carriers in without the rockers falling out? thanks
  11. youd be luck to find any "quick". but maybe we can rig something up when you get here.
  12. for $139, you could get a real intake for your car.
  13. unibody construction = no lubing theframe needed. the u-joints are "lifetime lubed". sounds like you have worked on a lot of american cars or trucks before the forester. the only time youd find zerks on a suby is if you have replaced the u-joints with an aftermarket replacement. if im missed anything, let me know.
  14. way to go man, just remember that you gota get her into cars at an early age. congrats on the new addition to you family.
  15. yeah, gravelrx, you should come. maybe ill be able to save some $$ and buy some of the other parts you are bringing. i cant wait till the cookout, im hoping to have me some fun. would be really fun if we could do some off roading up here, but there isnt much around. well, not that is legal.
  16. hmmm, does anyone have a trailer that they will be bringing to bring a car on? if so, id like to get my rx to the meet if possible. well, if i get it running again anyways.
  17. looks like the control arm is laying on the ground there, you might be able to fix it, but it wouldnt be cheap, well, from the look of it anyway. might make for a good parts car though. and its a turbo, unless its the ea82t, its rare. find out if its the ea81t, if so, $100 would be a great deal on it, just get it rebuilt and resealed and youll have a stout engine.
  18. ill have to stop by and talk to jim, the owner of the shop, and see what he will quote me at.
  19. it all depends on your machinist. and the shop you take it to.
  20. if you cant get copper gaskets, you could get the block o-ringed/ it keeps the gaskets from blowing out under high stress.
  21. rent a trailer, they are usually likes $20-50.
  22. i could dig the rx 5 spd with ea81 splines. i wouldnt mind 3.0 but then again, i never had any problems with 3.7 in my rx. yeah, id just be happy with a 5spd that i could bolt into a brat without too much effort.
  23. dude! you are placing blame on the wrong party. its not the store's fault, it is the destributors and manufacturer. remember , iwork for advance, its not the first time thats happened, but its not the store's fault. monroe had that problem with struts a couple years ago. they would send back the cores in the gas-matic boxes. unless they hassle you about it, dont blame advance, remember, the company they get their parts from serves most part stores. and always open the box when you order parts, that the first thing i do, and i even work there. trust me, im your frined, i wouldnt lie to you, its not always the store, and when it is, its usually an accident. *end rant* peace tim
