  1. goody I finaly get to see that wagon of yours lol hey PM me your new addy when you get the chance and who knows I might book it on over there sometime and I am guessing that its in between I-5 and 205 then
  2. if I can afford to, that sounds good and oh yeah forgot that Flowmaster87gl will be at the rallyX too
  3. Hey wing where at in Portland are you? and yeah Witte was the originator of that and I think he still has it too and he lives somwhere in Washington now with a STi none the less too lol
  4. well if you want to go oldshool with it or a mixture of Oldschool and newschool suby with the adapters that someone is making now the old 5sp and 4sp manual tranny's don't stick out that much and actualy they stick out less than a porsche or oldschool VW tranny so more clearance
  5. it's ok Clayton there is always next time cause it's in Hillsboro and also an update from another thread it appears I was wrong about Ezap/zapar being there but he has a wedding to goto so he won't be there
  6. Yeah it does haul, haul enough for 5th place in truck/SUV class in last years Rallycross championship and that paintjob was done by the previous owner and was a singlestage and he botched up the last coat and made it look flat but oh well it's gettin stripped and repainted about the same color but with George Barris sized metal flake and also yellow markings in the same metal flake
  7. hmmm interesting I might look into that for when I redo the suspension on the 76.....
  8. Yeah Gloria when I saw your name I was going WOW she finaly found us is it too early to volunteer for next years Oregon Trail Pro Rally per chance?
  9. so it's a messed up keyboard I am guessing and for the tally so far that I know of..... Edrach, GLCraigGT, Qman, 84SOOB (I think that is his s/n), superrallyroo, XSNRG, EZap, and I are defanates for maybe's Mudrat, Garner (with front liscence plate hopefuly this time around ), and hopefuly a few others like Witte (which I havn't seen on the board at all for awhile and also not at the rallyX's I have been at this year) soooooo there is a good sized contingency going to it from the board and we all should meet up together in one spot so we know who is there and say Hi to each other and to warn you I will be running in morning session due to what I am running
  10. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY it is rallycross over at Hood River come one come all hehe and I will be there sorta early cause I am running morning session
  11. goto www.oregonrally.com and the info is there it is on October 3rd
  12. for that conversion the older topmount starter EA-71 to install the sidemount starter 4sp d/r you had to use the fatcase EA-71 bell housing and flywheel and IIRC the fatcases came in 2wd hatchbacks and you had to use the disc and pressureplate from the fatcase motor too cause of size differences in discs and plates that were limited to the flywheel that is from the fatcase.... the main question monstaru was asking is if a 5sp would fit on the EA-71 in place of the 4sp d/r and it depends if it's 2wd and 4wd if it's 2wd the input shaft should match up with the clutch disc hole but if it's a 5sp 4wd s/r or d/r then the shaft would be too large I would have to say if you want to experiment and have the disc that will fit the shaft of the 5sp 4wd tranny to see if it will mount in the flywheel and press' plate of the EA-71 conversion and if it does/doesn't let us know that way it increases the knowledge base on the board
  13. would clackamas county work? or even Washington county or Multnomah counties? LOL cause there are alot of guys down in these areas also including me but hey next weekend is the next rallyX over at Hood River and I know of a few boardmembers are gonna be there including me
  14. Mike you logged off before I could tell you I would show you how if you dragged the rustbucket over here to my house one of these mornings
  15. coat it with oil or maybe petroleum jelly just remember to wipe it off before installing the new gaskets
  16. by brand new OBS does the same thing and it's just a sensitive throttle that's all and I have gotten used to it and in fact in some situations it comes in handy too
  17. hey wierder things have happened to me before like dropping washers and bolts onto the crossmember and the car driving for a long ways on some bumpy stuff too and when it was time to pull the motor for replacement of the headgaskets and clutch we found the stuff laying right there so grease does have a tendancy to hold onto stuff like that for some odd reason for long periods of time and to just find it later on or to find it in say a oil drain pan after draining oil or gearlube
  18. Clunk..... tink tink tink tink tink vrooooooooom...... oops there it went time to coast to the side of the road that's about what it would do prolly
  19. yeah there are a few areas on the bahn that are speed regulated now but the majority is still that way and as for the tires it's because of the high speeds that you have to have certain sizes on certain cars to ensure the safety of the car and passengers
  20. I goofed it's 6207 is the correct bearing # and just look through graingers catalog and you will find it but to warn you they are a lil spendy at like 20 bucks a pop but they are worth it to me that is lol even though I went through other means to get mine but they are being tested pretty good and I didn't pack any grease in the cavity between bearings so it is a ultimate test for sure but also look around for a bearing supply house cause there are quite a few out there the reason why I know about this is cause it was mentioned on the old board a long long time ago and I tried it first with the 76 when I found out my work has them in stock and have had good luck so far with them on just one side and the 83 has them on both sides now
  21. yeah I was wondering how that could have happened but it could have been nesting on the crossmember and you brushed against it at the right time and it fell into the pan w/o you noticing it
  22. pure stock coming back from oddcomps on the 205 bridge (read: NO COPS AT ALL cause it's the border ) had the speedo pegged on my 83 so figuring about 98 mph with no shakes at all and still had room on the tach for more but traffic came in the way, the 76 with the EA-65 has seen 90 a couple times, and I won't say what the 04 has seen or should I? oh heck I should..... 110 and had to slow down for traffic again for that one and still had way more room for going till I hit the govenor that is won't find out soon though unless I get to drive like a maniac over to Hood River for the next rallyX that is
