Disposable cars are great. Funny you say this i know where there is a Lanos for $3500 too. Must be the going rate. GM dealers are supposed to stock/offer parts for these cas because of the buyout....also you would be surprised what is here on ebay parts wise for these. As for the ones with glass issues....can't glass shops make windows for cars? I was told that they can....atleast my local ones supposidly. Matt

I was in Lancaster PA on monday around 5pm and saw a 98ish OBS with 1st gen forester L steel wheels on it. It looked damn good. Just a little food for though for any of the OBS owners who hate their hubcaps or lost their hubcaps doing doughnuts at the mall in the last snow storm or aren't lucky like me to have a nice set of WRX alloys sitting around. Anyhoo like I said it looked damn good and is a cheap alternative to some of the other options.... BTW, if you (the person in the OBS I saw) are a board member...I like your ride but you need to not follow people so closely.... Matt

At work we have some plows for sale. They are for a small compact tractor (front) and are roughly the width of an EA81 vehicle (I can measure next week). If I remember correctly they have a pin in them to swivel and I know for sure they have the springs on them when you hit something. They of course have the skid shoes on them too. I am not sure how much they are but I know they are in the mid $200 area. They are all steel and are of good quality. If anyone is interested let me know and I will get more specifics and measurements. Limited quanity... (4) Matt

the best I could do for you is the OB label on the back of the car. My impreza isn't a true OBS like the later models. Mine is when the OB label just ment that you had tutone paint basically. Why don't you go to a dealer and snap a few pics? Matt

95 was the last year of the 2wd's. 96 was full line AWD.* * the SVX may be the only exception. Matt

The A/C gets in the way if you have to charge and recharge the freon....not to mention all of the electronics that have to be unhooked from the rest of the motor. Matt

If you have a working A/C Unit don't pull the engine....what a pain in the rear. I personally have seen a legacy trans ( 5 speed) on the floor in 20 min. Car was on a lift though.... I like the EJ's personally....but the EA81's are the best for being bulletproof in my book. Matt

I'm ummmm speechless. are you planning on making a fill in panel so you can't see all of the ugly metal pieces that the stock (plastic) bumper hides? How about some better finished pics in better light.... Matt

I don't think they are.... I would be almost willing to bet the bank on the transmissions being the same 90-94 turbo wise. I would take a crap shoot at it....If you can't find one used I can hook you up with a guy that gets Jap import ones and you can have him install it. He is local to me (Lancaster County PA). I had a 5 speed turbo trans (from a 93).... Junked it. As for the question about the dude's car...turbo wagons are all automatic in that vintage. the only turbo legacy with a 5 speed is a sedan. Matt

I like the lowered hatch idea.... go for it. The RWD idea sounds cool too.. If you really wanted to get funky...get an AWD trans. (5 speed) and then you would really have something that can cut the corners. Makes me wish I had a hatch and a torch(for the springs) Matt

I had an H6 in an Xt once....it was very smooth. One thing that I don't like about the new gen H6 is the fact of no manual trans....that kills it right there for me... Matt

If I remember correctly...there is a screw or 2 into the side of the shift lever...remove and pull up on the "t" handle maybe? I would look at my forester for you but..... 5Speed Matt

While I was looking at it a guy pulled up in a Mitsu. eclips and he was looking at it too.....he said he was looking for a winter ride (no crap? really!!!) so maybe he can buy it....I think he might need it more than me anyhow As for Florida... never really thought of that...hmmm the only thing about that is there is this nice Merkur and ..... oh no here we go again. They want $1300 for it....in my opinion that is a bit on the higher side....but it does have a fairly fresh PA inspection sticker and that means something atleast. I think there is a bit too much rust to believe that the sticker guy must have been a friend... I really want a brat but seriously the hard top idea is really killing it for me....if it was a t-top I would worry about the trans. later. Sigh...anyone local interested LMK. If you aren't local don't waste your time....it isn't THAT great. Matt
