  1. Haven't seen that in years....kinda AMC pacer looking to me.... :-p Matt
  2. here is my 2 cents for against the wrx. Keep in mind that I looked at an 04 leftover sedan today with the prem. pkg. and really wanted to leave with it too! but a few things that crossed my mind... 1. wrx= premium gas 2. rs is much cheaper and looks like a wrx without the scoop (you can fix that issue) 3. longevity of the engine.... my big questions are on the heads and turbos. 4. relates to #1 rs=better fuel mileage 5. I know there are a lot of places to open it up out in SD but you can run an rs at 100 just as easly as a wrx. I've done this in my former OB in SD at 100-112 for miles upon miles (between 30-60 miles) no sweat....and that was a big OB not an OBS. Just imagine an rs.... don't get me wrong I love the wrx...but if I was buying a car to beat for 3 years and trade it off.... sure I would buy the wrx but if I was going to keep it for a while...hands down the RS. Matt
  3. interesed.....keep me in mind. Matt
  4. Mazda had a 626 turbo that had 4WS but it was part of a package. These cars usually had wheels on them that resembled xt6 wheels. Drove a prelude with 4WS once....WOW! that turned tight. Matt
  5. First thing that comes to my mind is that the brat and the OBS are roughly the same length (wheelbase) and I was told once that towing things that are similar in size is really scarry at times. Powerwise and whatnot you have enough snort in my opinion but the hills would bog you waaaaayyyyy down. If the OBS has a hitch and the brat has a towbar go try it out..... Matt
  6. If you are going to have a strip-a-thon I would be interesed in helping. You really don't have anything i need but you never know what might be in the pile. At any rate if you need some help i will do my best to try and make it up on a sat. The wife isn't afraid to turn a wrench too so LMK. Matt
  7. Food for thought....maybe it needs an oxygen sensor. I thought my impreza was just fine but I figured that at 140K I bet the O2 has seen its better days....and boy was I right...the thing really moves good now and much beter power all over the band. Another thing: Your clutch is most likely fine. As for feeling strange...I think they all do. My past soobs all had cable clutches but when I bought my 02 OB that I just got rid of it was a Hydraulic clutch. Damnest strange clutch I have ever driven or owned. Now that I have this 95 OBS with a cable clutch it feels like the old days again. Am I making sence at all or did the humidity finally get to me. Matt
  8. Drive down to Becker Subaru in Allentown PA. Talk to John Chicky. He will give you one heck of a deal....he always has for me.... (2 new soobs in 3 years) and he always gives a no BS price...even on the phone. Matt
  9. What is that darn Mazda and that Dodge doing on a Subaru page...shame on you Thank God that they finally got rid of the under car plastic crap that makes changing oil and stuff so darn difficult!!!! RS Pro: Looks interesting.....could possibly be my next vehicle....Wife likes it too.. Matt
  10. my vote is for an impreza RS. Matt
  11. I personally don't have a tire recomendation but I will say that once you find what you want see if you can get a better price @tirerack.com I got a banging deal from them on some tires of my old forester and I had them the next day.... Being that you are in the SE of PA you could have yours too if you call first thing in the morning and this is still using their cheap shipping method. If your garage man can't/won't mount them for you the people at tirerack will tell you who around you will. Good luck, Matt
  12. thanks guys... I appreciate all the input Matt
  13. I don't know if this has been asked before but if it has then please forgive me.... Simply stated what engines will bolt to what trnamissions. EA81 and EA82 engines to legacy/impreza AWD trannys? EJ22 or 25 to EA 81 4 speed with D/R? basically what has the same bolt patterns etc. How many combos of weird crap can we combine etc.? I have my reasons for asking....but I thought this might be a good topic to lay out on the board. Your input is appreciated. Matt
  14. Redneck Good luck dave, Matt
  15. Class act as always.... for anyone who has never seen this car in person it is the nicest and cleanest 90-94 legacy i have ever seen! As always Josh...great work! Matt
  16. Give me a few days to try to get the camera to interface with the comp. When I bought the camera it was before XP existed so..... but as soon as I get pics you will be the first to know... Matt
  17. Welcome to the board. Is Condrin still a franchised dealer? I used to go by there alot back in the day. I was a local to your area at one time.... I lived in Everett (bedford county) Once again welcome and get ready for the questions...... Matt
  18. did this years ago with a 90 legacy...just not as far. If I am correct the 4x6 isn't as high as the 4x8. whichever is closest to the height of the legacy works best (aerodynamics). Fill the tires on the trl. to max pressure (tells you on the trl.) Make sure you load the trl. right too. Too much tounge weight is bad and not enough is OH MY GOD!!!! this thing is all over the place. As for the clutch...let it go and drive gently...don't lug the engine (too low of RPM's) and no agressive shifting. You would be very surprised what a legacy can tow and how fast it can do it. I had a vehicle on a dolly once that all in all was about 4000 LBS. behind mine. My buddy called it "the little suby that could" Also, I towed a VW beetle on a tow bar behind mine at 75 on the highway (I know not smart...) but it did it and it did it well is what i am saying. And most importantly remember that stops are longer and turns must be taken wider. Good luck, Matt
  19. Like the saying goes....money talks.... It is going to ebay sooner or later but if you want it. Heck if you want the 3.8 i'll make you a banging deal on that too. talk to me... Matt
