  1. Hey it's only $17.49 and for a mere $19.99 more he'll ship it!
  2. Damn Rob you took that car to redline? Your braver than me! As stated, the dash swap is not a direct plug-n-play, more mix-n-match. I don't know anything about the shift up light or the CC thing. There are at least two diffs between the units beside the outward appearance. The '85/'86 has the outside temp gauge in it and it has two odometers (I think this is internal and wouldn't affect wiring?), the '87+ does not.
  3. I haven't done this swap and I'm not sure but I think this should be a direct bolt in swap. Rack, lines, pump.
  4. I love that interior, very cool. Yes RX trans, no center locking diff. The locking diif came in '87 as Corky suggested, with the full time 4wd trans. Your trans doesn't need a diff lock cause it doesn't have a center diff but not to worry, they do essentially the same thing, the only difference is when your cruising on the street, your in 2wd, the later fulltime trans is always in 4wd. Yours is a good strong trans, no worries!
  5. There was no 4WD GL-10 in '85, they were called the Turbo Traction model. In '85, all GL-10's were 2WD. In '85, basically all non RX turbos had the auto trans, the single range 5 speed made it's debut in '86. I think that's why your car has a D/R, it's a RX trans, this is not listed as a option but appearantly could be had. The LSD was available too, may or may not be there. These cars also had RX style seats rather than the GL-10 style that was in the '86 and later GL-10's. I did see one of these car once too. It looked like a RX but wasn't. It was a '85, loaded, with a D/R and it even had the RX checkered flag interior. A cool car, especially with only 50k on the odometer.
  6. I saw three of those wheels on a '82 sedan. I would've grabbed em but the boss where the center cap goes was broke on all three.
  7. How much for the exhaust system? What kind of EA82T race car do you run? What type of racing?
  8. Are you sure it was the previous owner or was it: "long straight...over crest...sharp right...CAUTION...HAZARD!!!"
  9. BTW, The guy at the Rally X with the XT-6 said he swapped on Legacy or Impreza struts, but those made it sit pretty high and he wasn't very happy with them. 2WD XT-6 is the most straightforward solution.
  10. Two things that will lock up the diff lock (rectangular switch on console) Tires of different sizes or inflation or a vacuum leak at or near the vacuum selenoid. You could possibly manually shift the lever from under the car. I'm not sure about actual fitment of the GL struts but I do know they are much longer and prferably, you are looking for 2wd XT-6 struts, they are non-air and they are short. I can't help with the other questions.
  11. We need samples please TROGDOR! BTW Caboo, congrats on the car, it's always fun to bring one back to life.
  12. The resemblance is uncanny! (the car, not ken:lol: )
  13. If the sub frame is tweaked it can be straightened. There are ways to correct the alignment even thought there's no adjustment up front. It's funny cause looking at those specs a car will pull to neg caster and pos camber, looks like they should damn near cancel each other out. Miles is correct that the caster it can be changed through the strut bar with mods. Another thing, the camber would need to be modified for any serious cornering anyway, you just have a little more work to do on the left :-)
  14. Gee Tex, nobody has ever asked me to Dyno with them before:o I would be down for that, especially if we can hook up with Witte. Might be interested in some engine management too. The RX is one of the better running stock T's I've had. I do have a spider intake, intercooler and a few mods in mind. Witte, what's you company called? What all do you guys do down there? I'm feeling a little silly, like I should know this. Mark
  15. archemetis gave you the proper way to tow your car. I just moved my '84 turbo coupe with a dolly. I took the back driveline out. It took about 5 minutes and I only lost about a quart of oil. I'm not sure if Subarus are affected this way but generally automatic transmissions are lubricated by a pump and the oil pump only turns and pumps when the engine is running. I think pulling the driveline and buying a quart of oil is cheap insurance, just try to find one of those transmissions or pay to rebuild one!
  16. Maybe day two isn't that far off. I know a guy with a '82 brat DL that has 4 headlights and no fun Tops. You probably couldn't get the Fun Tops as a option in hell but the third eye may have come in handy. :madder:
  17. Damn, that's some cheap fab work! Get some tires on there and post some pics! Gotta see it!!!
  18. Where's Thorp? I'm in Olympia, I have extra stuff laying around.
  19. Can't wait to see those mounted on the car. Sounds like a good price for the wheels, what did they do to them??? Did you supply the wheels and have them modified?
