Pics of my gen1 brats(more pics & tech )

V6 huh...cool. -
The price depneds on the condition of the wheels, those are a pain to refinish. I think 14's are a better size for the EA82's. I have 14" pugs on mine, and will have 14's on my RX coupe too, when the 5 lug conversion is done. If you decide you don't want them, let me know, I want gold wheels for my '84 turbo cooupe with the gold trim...

Good Luck!!!

XT Turbo / XT6 Spring Rates?
XSNRG replied to All_talk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You can use the '86 to '89 Honda Accord front springs for the rear and they are bigger. I have not been able to find a spring rate for them though. Anybody have a Honda FSM? -
Seattle Area: Where to get POR 15?
XSNRG replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Does it work? -
See if they have an XT-6 clutch and flywheel. The flywheel is a bit lighter and the clutch has about 50% more clamping power. While your at it, grab me an extra XT-6 flywheel.

Thanks for all the input. I have the engine that came with the dual carb Brat but I'm not certain it's original. I'll pull the heads and check the valve size...
-
Are the heads or cam for the dual carb engines different from the single carb? Any way to tell them apart?
-
I'm pretty sure there is a limit on engine size too.

Excellent! A very nice group of Subarus. There are some of my favorites there, GLF coupe, Turbo XT, SVX, Brat, wagons and an STi! -
Broken screwdriver in flywheel
XSNRG replied to higgnoid's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
You could remove the dust cover under the flywheel and it may fall out. -
I was thinking the XT would make an awesome Gr2 Rally Cross car. I was interested in Hoent/BumbleBee racing unti i found out it's N/A 2wd only, I wanted to run one of my RX's.

EA82T in Gen 1 Brat, it's in there!!!!
XSNRG replied to garner's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Garner, I got your mail...did you get my reply? Let me know if you still need that part. -
They do that down here at the Olympia/Tenino Speedway but they call them BumbleBees...they have to be N/A and 2WD. I have a 2wd XT that runs good and is partly stripped for el cheapo if anybody wants to go racing. It needs a muffler welded on but is licensed.

I think when Scooby said 12 of 85, he was refering to the production date. The car is a GL with the Rally Package, the pre-RX model, essentially the same thing, same options. Should be an LSD there too.

Does anybody know the stock spring rate on the Accord springs? I'm wondering if they are stiffer or just longer. I assumed that front springs would be stiffer but on the RX the fronts are 157 and the rears are 179, so I'm curious about the Accoud spring rates.
-
this may have been mentioned but see if your disty is turning. i got a CAS code on a broken t-belt before.

Has any body tried XT-6 springs on the front of a EA82? I was thinking of using XT-6 front springs and the Accord springs on the rear of my '87 RX Coupe. I'll chop them down a bit so it doesn't ride too high. Has anybody tried this? Does anybody know anything about spring rates and stuff for this application? Will it blow my handling if the spring rates are out of wack front to rear? I'm trying to stiffin up my car (ghetto style) for Rally Cross. Thanks.

Gauge Range suggestions Temp/Oil Pressure
XSNRG replied to garner's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The EA82 pump has two ports. One is used for the anolog guage and the other is used for the digital guage. You could probably use the extra one for the aftermarket unit. -
How does a ea81T fuel pump get its power?
XSNRG replied to SuperRallyRoo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The fuel pump on the '82 Brat I had was wired directly and it seemed to work fine. I don't recall were it was wired to. -
Change the fuse for the horn:-)
