update on EA82 steering wheel adaptors
XSNRG replied to subaru_styles's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
There is a part number on one of the momo dealer sites, I thought they were around 45 bucks. I bought a new momo hub, in the box off ebay a month ago for $9.95 and bought a momo hub, steering wheel and horn button with a nice subaru logo for $100 shipped, from germany. -
Will this stuff fit my Gremlin??? Seriously though, the XT-6 has a bigger control arm bushing than the EA82.

I need a complete set, Front control, rear trails, strut rod, front and rear sway bar sets. I did mail one of the vendors, not sure if it's the same one, I'll let you know if I get a response. I need these ASAP and will happily pay the 3-5 day freight.

The car Subaru never built... but should have.
XSNRG replied to All_talk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Funny, I took a long look at my RX awhile back, tape in hand. Sedan trunk and rear window close by. It would take a lot of work, I hate the back of the 3 door coupe, also yerning for the 2 door coupe. I love the picture you worked up... -

Just what I need... -
I need to think this over but I'm very interested. How soon do you need to order these and how long would it take to get them?
-
I've had GL-10s and Loyales and the Loyale feels noticably lighter and more nimble than the option laden GL-10. I bought my wife a '90 Loyale turbo wagon, I put a JDM motor in it and it was quick, with the 4eat would cruise at 90/100mph, I did this once for 15 hours straight coming back from Montana. I found myself wanting to drive the car, alot!

So all five sets don't need to be the same? Am I correct to assume with adustable dampers, that would all be the same but could be ordered with different spring rates and then springs would be available to change in the future? I have no idea what would be ideal for me, anyway to figure that out? I use my RX for Rallycross, where I understand real stiff suspension can be a negative but I may upgrade to some Rally Sprints or maybe even some Stage Rally at some point. Do you have an idea what ratio (front stiffness compared to rear stiffness) of spring rates front and rear would allow a nice balance? Is stock ratio pretty close? Sorry for all the questions.

Sorry to take this off topic... I'm going to buy one of these but may go for a SS or RR, does anybody know if it's worth the extra $$$? I read the features but you know a sales pitch always makes something sound good. Is there anyplace besides ebay to buy the higher end units at a decent discount? Thanks!
-
I would like a good one. What the big advantage of the electronic ones over just a little valve? Is there one that is a better value, combo of decent price and the right features? Thanks
-
Do you know the specs? Dampening, spring rate, mounted length, I don't know what else to ask but I'm curious. Whats the advantage over my RX stuff? Sorry, I'm learning...

1979 brat, e81 with dual range tranny trouble
XSNRG replied to spinsirs's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Hey, is this my old Brat, the tan one? Wheel bearing can be noisy too. Have you checked the gear lube in the trans? Does it do it in reverse? You want to sell the wheels yet? -
There's 5 within a 100 yards of where I'm sitting right now :-)

Subiesport Mag 'old school' Project
XSNRG replied to ricochet's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I do have a complete '87.5 RX Coupe for sale. There are a couple people in line for it but it may be available. You can drive it home. I also have a EA81T coupe I might sell if you decide to go that route and don't buy Richies. -

XSNRG replied to ricochet's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I agree, the EA81 would be a pain to get handling for dirt/gravel, a much more important factor than power, which is also a dis-advantage in the EA81. Sean's old RX is available for minimal $$$ I have a lot of related parts too and will donate some expertise as well. Zap, the car in the picture, is that the one that rolled? I think he has a coupe now??? not sure. I would like to see that car. -
Is that the one by McChord? Are there any other yards in Tacoma area that are worth visiting?
-
I'll check that car tomorrow for the FWD 5 speed...

Hey Pat! I hope all is going smooooth!!! -
That's funny, you didn't notice the subaru sedan parked behind your car when you took the pictures? I sold it to a guy named Travis in Lewiston...
-
Nice repair work. Any antlers on the elk? BTW, is that a imperial red '85 sedan? Is it a turbo? Just wondering, I sold one to a guy and he drove it over to idaho...
-
Hey Tomas, welcome. I have a couple RX coupes, I love 'em... I can't help on the electrical issue. Any fenders from a '87 to '89 (and maybe to '94) EA82, RX, DL, GL, GL-10, wagon, sedan or coupe will work and will accept your trim. The '85/'86 fenders will fit but they had glue on trim so no holes for the later style trim. Bumpers from '87 to '94 of the same model lines will also fit. If you can't find your color, you can paint one or get one from a DL or Loyale model, they are all black.

sheesh y am i the only one?

how rare is a 1985 mpfi non turbo sedan
XSNRG replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I had an '85 GL-10, 2wd, 5mt, MPFI, like you describing, a nice car but no use to me, no turbo, no 4wd, I threw it away. I did keep the gold enkeis that were on it though...
