  1. Where did you get the plates? Are they the WRX ones? Are you using them with coil overs? Is it possible to use camber plates on a RX with stock struts? You mentioned the RX struts are stiffer than the GR2, how much? Any idea what the spring rate is on the '86/'89 Accord front springs Sorry for all the questions, thanks!
  2. I saw a photog leaving the hotel in the morning...unless he was going to the doll show...
  3. Good call...looking at the mirrors in the pics it would appear to be the '86 model year.
  4. I wondered about that, the only evidence I had was the many pictures of painted bumpers in the '85 brochure and not one in the '86 brochure. My '86 brochure is the abreviated version though, that's why I wasn't sure about '86.
  5. The '85 2wd GL-10 had painted bumpers, I don't think they offered that in '86. This is probably an '85.
  6. Thanks for your service PK!!!
  7. You may not make money on the wheels if you pay $100 and need to dispose of the car. If there are good parts on the car to sell you might make out Ok. It might be better to send a potential buyer directly to the car rather than you acting as middle man, with the time and trouble involved.
  8. I bought a '93 Legacy SS turbo. It's wrecked in the front and the passenger side timing belt pulley is bent. The engine runs as-is but you can see the slight wobble and hear/feel the vibration. With enough force to bend the cam pulley, would anything else be damaged? Cam? Head? Anything else? Or, is it likely just the pulley?
  9. Setting up the Gtech Pro. I weighed my RX, 2580 with me and 3 gallons of gas.
  10. I'm pretty sure the '85/'86 have just a short line going from the pressure side of the turbo to the waste gate. The '87+ turbos have a stock boost controller mounted on the passenger side strut tower.
  11. Do I need to do anything with the hoses on the stock controller?
  12. not an rx with a digi. there have been a few of these turbos with the d/r spotted, I saw one, '85 with the checkered seats, digi, etc. Probably very similar to the rx but with a 5 in the vin. There is a good chance that these are as rare if not more rare than the rx and at the very least a fun car to drive.
  13. Is the big knob turned with a wrench? Does it have a allen screw to lock it? What about the one on top, is it just an allen screw or does the whole top turn? I know, dumb questions. It could be backwards but I paid attention to the arrow. Does the stock controller need disabled?
  14. I did find the FAQ's on the Turbo XS web site but still interested in any EA82T specific help. Thanks
  15. I installed a used Turbo XS deluxe unit with dual adjustments. Since it was used, I didn't get any instructions. Took it for a test spin, acceleration was good, then I looked at my boost guage reading 15 PSI. I tried turning the big knob both directions and closing the fine adjustment, it didn't seem to change the boost level. I would like to run it at 8 to 10 PSI, Does anybody know how to do the initial set up and dial in process? Or what is a safe level? I know about the fuel cut but using this for rally cross there will be no long pulls, just short bursts, so I'm hoping not to find the fuel cut.
  16. Nice low restriction intake...I hope a bird doesn't get in there!
  17. How did you change the front & rear camber?
  18. The 3dr windshield is definately unique, 1' taller than "any of the otherGL-Loyale". A Subaru expert should know this but a Stanley tape definately does!!! Not only is the windshield unique but so is the trim and it can be hard to find too, sometimes just the act of removal destroys it. BTW, I believe that coupe windshield of nearly every Subaru vintage are unique to the coupe, EA81, EA81 and EA82, not sure about the earlier stuff.
  19. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Yeah, they don't know what an RX is either, I went for pats yesterdy and the conversation went something like this: Me Do you have o rings for my injectors? Parts girl What kind of car is it? Me 1987 Subaru RX turbo Parts girl Is it a GL? Me No it's an RX Parts girl (head tilted, dumb look, scratching blonde haired head) The Mazda dealer is across the street... LOL!
