  1. What's wrong with the car melon? I might bring two cars but I need to find out the run order, I can't run the legacy before I get my points for PGT.
  2. I'm interested in a EJ/EA plate/kit as well...
  3. No need for explanation, I totally understand what you want/need to do. I have a set of stock 2wd XT-6 rear units that will raise you up about 3 inches, let me know if you want them. Stock wagon setup will accomplsh about the same thing, may jack it up more though. I'll try to get a comparison on length, I know the springs are the same rate.
  4. Yo...Just a stock set of GL wagon struts and springs in the back that will raise it about 3" (spring rate on the XT-6 and GL wagon are the same in the rear). I had to do a lot of mods on the rear struts to get it at that ride height. Not sure about the front but it sounds like a setup like Qmans would work.
  5. The show was awesome, had a great time. Somebody was actually selling rice krispy treats, can you believe it!
  6. Hey---I remember you from the show too, right? I was in the red 88 wagon with my wife and kids on the trail run, I stopped and talked for a bit. I was admiring your car cuz I want an Impreza. Yep, that's my white RX that slays all big dollar iron. If you and your friend are interested, we can have fun, not much of a budget but I never run out of beer money! Shoot me a PM, Mt Hood is Oct 22, tech at 8 but stages don't start till 1pm, service around 5pm, guessing, over around 10pm then awards party...
  7. I bought a '91 Legacy Turbo Rally car from Barrett Dash, some of you may know the car. If Rally America will give me a comp license, I'm entering the Mt Hood Rally on Saturday 10-22. I'm looking for a couple volunteers for service crew. It is a one day rally and there is only one service, should be a piece of cake. Worst case we may need to retrieve the car from a stage. If your willing shoot me a PM or post back here. Thanks
  8. Bravo! Nice work and pictures. That was worthwhile and probably a lot less work/hassle than parting it out and building a new car.
  9. Brats can be competetive, they are proven. They race in the truck/suv class which is a form of open class and allows most mods. Check the rule book specific to your region. I have a Rally Cross RX, most of what I did you can apply to the Brat. I got the basically stock engine running and performing really well with a clean effecient fuel system and bigger exhaust. It should be legal for you to use a Weber carb and high flow air cleaner. Make sure your cooling system is adequate. I added front and rear strut tower bars. I added front camber plates to get rid of the 1+ degree of positive camber Soobs come with stock and took it to around 1 degree negative camber and added a bit of caster. I replaced all of the suspension bushings with aftermarket urethane bushing from Superpro, including the rack bushings. Check out post by PORTER, that's the guy to get them from. This keeps the tire square to the ground and helps the steering to be precise. I put the biggest sway bar I could find on the rear and left the front one stock. I removed around 300 pounds of useless weight from the car including the A/C some interior, etc. Every pound makes a difference on these low powered cars. I got the best tread pattern I could find that is legal in my class. As Zap said, the driver is a key element, get some seat time and work on your mental game. Good luck, keep us posted, Rally Cross is a blast!
  10. I'm going. Any schedule yet?
  11. The show was awesome, a great weekend. Met more people this year and saw a lot of killer soobs. Thanks to the Organizers, Volunteers, Sponsors and Mason County!
  12. Actually, that used to be one of my RX's, now owned by Subeguy. I was the guy talking with Subeguy when you walked up. I left my RX at home (it only has front seats for racing) and brought two Legacy Turbo Sport Sedans and my offroad GL wagon.
  13. I logged about 150 miles...but...that was three trips!
  14. You're welcome...I should've demanded to ride back with you! I'm really glad you're happy with the car and the trip went well, talk about covering some miles! It was a pleasure to meet and deal with you. Thank you for the positive feedback on the Trader Rating System. Thanks also for the great seafood that you and Kelley brought down, what a treat!
  15. Welcome to the board and thanks for the invitation. I have that day free and may be able to make it, I know there are some others here that would be interested as well. I may meet you en-route if possible, I live down in Olympia. Post a heads up when you have a definate itinerary and start time. XSNRG
  16. Subeguy-if you have some decent stock size street tires, you may want to run them. I mailed janice and they are running the '04 rule book so no aggressive tread in P or PGT. Ed, you may be on your own but it isn't hard to find. Call me if you need help. You will travel west off I-5 to Oakville, turn left at the bank (on right) as you come into town, this road takes out the south side of town and you will follow it around to the right and through the reservation, when you come to a bridge after going over it take a left onto Garard Creek Rd? Anyway just turn left after the weird bridge, wind around for a few miles and watch for a sign that reads Brooklyn 10, follow that road to the rally sight, you will travel on about 7 miles of gravel.
  17. There will be a bunch os soobs cruising through there on Saturday going to the Brooklyn Rallycross. I gotta work on Tuesday:-/
  18. Qman, EdRach, Supperralydoo, Subeguy, if we are the only caravanners and I think we are all racing afternoon, we can meet later in the morning, maybe around 10 or 11? and we can just meet at my place, I know a short cut:-) It takes a little less than an hour to get there.
  19. I guess it depends on which rulebook they are using. The new book says wheels and tires are free, period. ORG is still running by last years rule book which allows any wheel but tires must be stock size and no aggressive tread in P or PGT.
  20. What other mods have you done? Pugs will put you in the open class.
  21. ~EDIT~Please check in and let me know who wants to meet and if you are racing morning or afternoon. My race is in the afternoon and it seems most of the guys that are meeting me are racing in the afternoon. If nobody needs to be there for the morning session, I may set a later meeting time. If anybody wants/needs to meet still in the morning I may make a trip up there in the morning too.~EDIT~ For those of you that haven't been to Brooklyn or would just like to make a soobie caravan [other non-soobs welcome too:-)], We can meet at the gas station at I-5 exit 88 near Rochester at 06:30, I will be leaving the gas station at 7:00 am, this will allow Northbound and Southbound travelers to meet. It's a nice drive out there, including 7 miles of nice gravel.
