yeah as grossgary said already in this thread I think... he did this on his xt6 a while ago... haven't heard of anyone doing it on a new gen though

I think that's pretty much what I'm going to build for the front, at least, of my xt6... no hitch obviously

I was talking to my dad about this over christmas dinner... his response was "you have the transmission out of the car already right?..... bring over a differential and I could do that for you in a couple of hours" bearings, shims, tolerances don't seem to bother him.. he is an engineer it's what he does

could not agree more. ford escape, jeep cherokee, grand cherokee... all new SUV's seem to have utter CRAP ground clearance, except the nissan xterra. bigger tires on my legacy with no lift would put me higher at lowest point than coworker's '99 jeep cherokee

what would you suggest for my single range 5spd in my xt6.. for general street / mild offroad? is it going to be a real PITA to swap a new front diff into this transmission do you think? sorry for questions, don't have FSM with me at work

what he's saying is that he's never taken a transmission apart... me either... and this is a good question.. what's involved in getting the old diff out/ new diff in once you have the transmission out of the car?

yes the legacy has done many a donut already this winter... and for some reason I slide around every corner I come to sorry I'm too poor for a video camera and don't have any friends to take pics

yeah this cold is really killing me and my legacy... doors freeze shut all the time, windshield frosts up on the inside, doesn't start all the time.. blahblahblah I hate upstate NY winters it's colder than 99% of norway
