  1. "just a lot more expensive" until you don't buy a tranny cooler for your auto and it shreds itself, and you have to get a new auto, and then possibly a tranny cooler so it doesn't shred itself...... (never owned one, just my point of view..)
  2. I know nothing about turbos except what you and the other people talk about, but my powers of deduction would lead me to find the problem with the electronic boost controller.... as that seems to be what's causing your fuel cut if it's only happening when you use it.... (master of the obvious = me!)
  3. with the subaru trike in mind, you might want to check out the new "subaru transplants" forum, if you haven't already.. there's already been talk of subaru trikes in there, I believe
  4. dangit! no way to get to CT.... plus work.. plus no insurance $$ yet.... AAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!! :banghead: :-\
  5. it wasn't a strange place, it was a strange time/day, and a strange candidate for getting stuck (my front wheel drive xt6..) it was mother's day of this year, and I was playing around on some back roads I'd never explored. ended up trying to go through a trail with some mud in it to get to a huge field I found on state land. turns out there was a ditch across the road and I had to back out. which means my back tires were doing nothing, and my fronts were spinning in the mud. ended up walking 4 miles and getting a chevy blazer from my gf's house to pull myself out with
  6. theDirtyRue, check this out! http://www.xt6.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3257 they're available at advance auto, I believe
  7. this saturday might still be best for me, if it's alright with you... as you remember, it took me until about 5.30pm or something like that to get there last time, after some delays... so I could leave a little bit later and get there when you're around... not sure yet, these are all just "ideas"
  8. I'm scheduled to work the sat. after thanksgiving (this saturday!) too, but depending on the outcome of court tomorrow (might not be able to afford insurance, and will be pedaling everywhere...) I might be coming down to get that touring wagon from you, and it'd be great to meet some people too! <edit> and by from you, I mean "through" you, I guess......
  9. congrats! that's the coolest justy I've ever seen! by the way, where is the island of Malta?
  10. GAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MURDER!
  11. still waiting on the insurance co. gary hard to believe they haven't gotten ahold of me yet, even though I had my insurance co. contact them (neither have gotten ahold of me... calling them tomorrow)
  12. if I were to buy this touring wagon from moosens' friend, he suggested I get a resurfaced flywheel along with the clutch kit... my question is, where would I get a resurfaced flywheel, how much would it cost, and should I just get a clutch kit for an '89 ea82? I'm new to ea82's.... (and replacing clutches)
  13. they all look wonderful! ...not sure I'd drive a purple (or pink!) car though..
  14. might be ignorance... the kid might not have known what he was "up against" in terms of him driving the grandchild of your car... (or however you'd describe that relationship)
  15. for a long time there was this rusty old hatchback cruising around all the time, and I was always smiling and waving, etc, trying to get the guy's attention, but he never seemed to notice me. one day, the car disappeared. I noticed a couple months ago that the same guy was driving a toyota delivering chinese food. I just went out for a cigarette break while at work, and he was standing outside waiting for someone to answer the door. struck up a conversation, it was the same guy, and he still has the car, it just "needs work." so I gave him the URL to the board, here, and we talked a bit more about my xt6, and the turbo xt's, and it turns out he used to drive a cool older brat with t-tops. he said he'd check out the board tonight when he gets home. unfortunetly I forgot to get his name, hopefully he'll see this thread! (I'm excited, no older subaru people around here..)
  16. I asked about this awhile ago on the xt6.net board, and got a lot of "naw" and "pfft" 's so I dropped it, since I don't have an offroad rig anyway... but what I was going to do is run airline all the way to the trunk, and have a converted propane cylinder that you can fill up with the pump when it's low, then use the air out of that for tires. that way you don't have to try blowing up a tire on a little teeny pump that would take all day to blow up a bike tire <edit> not much conversion needed for that propane tank iirc... dad uses one as a portable air tank w/ a pressure gauge and a curly hose..
  17. crap.... I was REALLY looking for this thread the other night... too late now
  18. my mom's a manager at advance auto... and I try not to go there. but it's hard when you get a 15% discount.. to be truthful, though, they are a stupid, evil place that generally doesn't know anything about what they do (based on the employees in the two stores mom has worked at)
  19. I need a carfax report on JF2AN52B7ND415500 ASAP.... anyone that can help, I'd really appreciate it, as I've just lost my primary mode of transportation, and need a car
  20. are you asking if it'd be possible to machine 390mm rims to use a 14 or 15" tire? if that is in fact what you're asking, i don't know the answer, but maybe this will help clarify the issue?
  21. don't mean to sound like an rump roast, but I believe TPS stands for Throttle Position Sensor. Hit me in the face with a lug wrench if I'm wrong
  22. what if the speedometer doesn't work, Shawn? I have pretty much the same symptoms (not all the time though (??)) and my speedo doesn't work
