  1. To remove the centrifugal clutch on a Stihl chainsaw, you would use the factory tool...which is this plastic ball on the end of a plastic handle that goes down into the spark plug hole and jams the piston aganst the head.
  2. Sounds good to me. Anerobic sealer would work on oil pump, too.
  3. I'm gonna try my damnedest. Our new house is supposed to be done in the beginning of June, so theoretically, we should have sold our current house, blah, blah, blah. Tim, if I can't make it, that's no excuse for you not to go. Maybe you should go to Morgantown and pick up Trogdor!.
  4. Yes. They will do it for free. Well, I know Advance Auto parts will.
  5. It would be a heck of a lot easier if you hold out and got one that was awd, instead of diving into the headache of swapping. Seriously.
  6. Somewhere between 90-94 or 95, the crank sensor changed. They are probably functionally identical, the difference is the later one has the connector on the sensor body, the earlier one having a 10" or so lead. I paid $200 for the early sensor on http://www.1stsubaruparts.com, and saw later sensors for a ridiculous fraction of that.
  7. Meh. I may be moving, or homeless, or in some other turmoil that weekend. I'll keep you all posted.
  8. You can try a silicone spray on rubber bushings if you believe one of them is doing it. Petroleum products will attack rubber, i'd stay away from grease.
  9. Dyeing the motor oil is a good way to find hard-to-find leaks. They put a few ounces of flourescent dye that dissolves in your oil, and drive it around for a while. The dye is visable as a bright orange under ultraviolet light. If the smell persists, I'd go the dye route. I'd bet you have cam seals that are leaking. You can't tell unless you take the timing covers off, though.
  10. That doesn't bother me, if I bring a friend, it may be an issue. Maybe I'll bring a tent.
  11. My subaru doesn't even have a radio, so my answer may be biased.
  12. Hey, can I sleep on someone's couch? If I'm driving out there, then I'm staying the whole weekend.
  13. If I'm driving out there again, I gotta put a CD player and speakers in the RX. You can listen to your engine only for so long.
  14. I saw the movie and thought, "I wonder how many threads will be started about that brat?"
  15. I use 15w-50 mobil one in a couple different generations of Subarus.
  16. 3.5k ohms is better than 4.9-11.5k ohms, in my opinion. There are those that would argue that OEM is the only way to go. I say go with the NAPA wires.
  17. I seriously think it's mostly hype. It's probably got seal conditioners in it or something, but I doubt it's worth the extra coin.
  18. Is Memorial Day weekend official?
  19. You nursed a split axle boot for six years? I applaud your procrastination.
  20. You could run a stand-alone ignition controller, like MSD, to run the ignition. The fuel system would then be up to you.
  21. It's a **** your pants sort of excitement right there. Oh man. Ask how I know.
  22. Well, c'mon. They say to start with the easiest stuff first, right?
