+1 ^^ PICS!! A hover craft with a subie engine on it, there's something I never thought of. Makes sense because the aviation guys use the ea81's...

92 loyale quit on my daughter.

Power to the coil? What about the cap and rotor? They look good? Plugs and wires? Just running down the basics here... What about fuel? Your fuel pump working? Fuel filter? That's all I can think of right now... -
When I do my EJ, I have been thinking about swapping in a '93 impreza 4EAT to replace my 4EAT in my loyale t-wagon as well and just the full EJ driveline swap. Having AWD with all the EJ power in a EA car just seems like a good idea to me Good to see someone do it with a 5mt though! Good work!

Wanna know the coolest thing about this pic? Your car Rob! It's soo badass that your car is hanging out there amongst all that Detroit muscle That's awesome! Old Skool Subarus FTW! All those other cars there though, :slobber: Good stuff. Sweet they invited you to hangout with your RX! Thanks for the pics!

This is why I like the ZR1. Chevy does still make high performance cars from the factory, the ZR1 is a prime example, just the "normal" person will never be able to afford it. Chevy is really about the only American car company that seems to really do that now days and it really too bad :-\ Just look at BWM (M3, M5), Nissan (GTR), hell even Subaru with the STI. They all have tuned factory cars that are actually worth something. Kinda sad most American companies got out of that game.

+1 to this! That hose just failed on me, and what a PITA. While your in there replacing that hose, do yourself a HUGE favor and replace that hose clamp with a spring one instead of a stupid screw clamp that you CAN'T access. That way you will actually be able to remove the hose clamp to replace the hose in the future without needing to remove the intake :-\

Ask McBrat he did it recently: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=110563&highlight=half+doors Might be a little different than your setup, but you get the idea...

For the remote start, I installed the Valet 562T model I believe and it works great! Picked my unit up used for $20 off ebay! I converted my power door locks to "progressive" meaning press unlock button once it unlocks drivers side door, press unlock again unlocks all the doors. I still have all the documents and diagrams I used to install all the features in it, so if you go that route I can e-mail them to ya. Here's the thread where I got alot of usefull info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=105193 The heated seats seem like a cool idea, let us know how that install goes. If it's fairly simple, I will probably to that myself. Seems like a cool upgrade, no pun intended Congrats on making a subie fleet! Sounds like this should be a fun project and be pretty cool when it's all done! Good luck!

Here's a thread that I started asking about putting a 4EAT from an impreza into my 1990 Loyale T-Wagon: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=108422 Towards the end of all the replies Gloyale has a link to where he actually put a legacy 4EAT into his wagon. Not quite the same setup as yours, 4EAT instead of a 5MT FWD, but it might point you in the right direction. Hope it helps and good luck!

Thanks for the info! Good to know that there are options for me -
Picked mine up in October from Les Schwab. A family friend that works for Les Schwab said the tires should still be around for him to order… But that was in October. I agree they are getting hard to find, I had to call around to a bunch of different places, and someone on here mentioned to call the Les Schwab in fife, and they had a set. Don't know if was luck or timing, but I managed to get them within the last six months or so. They are about an inch taller than the stock one. I like them alot so far!

Damn that's a beautiful car, and I haven't even seen the outside I sure wish I had that type of money lying around :-\ :slobber:

I was browsing around Harbor Freight the other day and they had a couple different types of plastic welding kits. I think that the cheapest one was about $45 or something like that. Seemed to come with everything you need to get the job done. First time I had seen anything like that before.

+1 for those tires. Rockin' the exact same ones, without studs. About an inch bigger than stock. Been a great tire so far! 5,000 miles and hardly any wear...

Blown Head Gasket.- help!!!
eulogious replied to Sioux-baru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Just for future sake, please post a new reply when there is an update instead of editing the first post. That way if people are looking in the future for the same symptoms, they can see what your car was doing, and then see what you did to fix it. By editing the first post, you lose all the context for your fix, and there is no indication of what was causing your problem :-\ Also, what if they symptoms come back? You will have to repost your original post to get help, or post a new post asking the same thing :-\ Not raggin' on ya or anything, just trying to make it easier for folks to see from what you did to fix your problem Glad you got it working! -

When I said that I didn't realize it was you Once I found it was actually your car, the small tires made sense I am hoping to make it, but we shall see what the wife says I will be around for sure, I love my subie! Keep up the good work man, can't wait to see this thing with swampers and a D/R! -
Heater Core Replacement
eulogious replied to eulogious's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ya, the only way I got that screw clamp off was with angled tip pliers. I thought that there should be some sort of other clamp to use, I will look into getting a spring clamp and using that instead of zip ties Good ole zip ties came through in a pinch though for sure! I would honestly say that so far the ea82t hasn't been THAT bad for me. I think that I am one of the lucky few that has an ea82t that was well taken care of and treated properly. Other than this coolant leak, the damn thing just runs and doesn't leak a drop so I can't complain at all. I love this car! It has it's few quirks, but so far I actually like this motor. Yes, a pain to work on, but hey, I guess if I can fix an ea82t, then I can fix almost any subaru! At least I keep telling myself that Don't get me wrong, as soon as the ea82t starts giving me trouble, I will be calling you GD to help me with my EJ swap -
Heater Core Replacement
eulogious replied to eulogious's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I feel dumb One of the main reasons it over heating was because it was missing about 3/4 of a gallon of fluid. I thought that "reserve" bottle would drain if the car needed water, but apparently I was wrong. The reserve tank was full, but the rad was basically empty :-\ I also managed to find my actual leak this time, at least I HOPE this is the last thing I have to deal with. It was the line that goes from the under intake to the AAV. What a PITA that sucker is. How are you supposed to get a hose clamp on that thing without taking the intake off? Seriously, I had to rip the hose off, and then use a pair of pliers to pull the hose clamp off. Luckily it was one of the hose clamps that has two "rings" around it, so it pulled off easily, but now I can't get a new hose clamp on it. Well, I can get the hose clamp on it, I just can't tighten it. I ended up using a couple zip ties, because that's the only way I can get anything to be tight in that spot. I know, I know, zip ties are not ideal at all, but what else am I supposed to do beside remove the intake? I really don't want to do that at all :-\ I will post pictures in a bit to show what I am talking about... -
Waterwagon 3 Build-up, and the SJR+EJ Lift Thread!
eulogious replied to Ratty2Austin's topic in Members Rides
DAMN! I walked by when you guys where getting out! I seriously turned to my wife and said, "That's a lifted legacy, I would really like to have once of those someday. There's a guy on my forums that's lifting his and this reminds of that one. I wonder why he doesn't have nicer tires on it…" No joke about that either. I knew I should have said something! Serves me right for being "shy" once in my life. Well, it was nice to almost meet ya! -

Did you happen to stop by Leavenworth this weekend? I was there Saturday and Sunday and saw a lifted wagon looking kinda like yours there while I was walking around the town... -
The one thing that I have learned is, to each their own, and who cares what others think! People might question me on why I like my auto trans and tell me to swap it out, but I like my auto 4EAT, and screw what you all think One of the biggest reason I love my subie is because I can make it my own. They are easy to work on and take apart, so they are also easy to customize. I have added a whole bunch of options to my car and I love it! I might not spend that much money myself, but I also have a lot of other projects and a wife But either way it looks good and it looks like you know what you are doing when it comes to installing things like that. I bet those lights seriously brighten up the inside like day! Keep it up dude!

Heater Core Replacement
eulogious replied to eulogious's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Today on my way to work, the car almost overheated I did not get into the red, I pulled over and let it cool down, but I turned around and took him home :-\ What's the easiest way to get rid of this air bubble? Should I just drain and fill it? I really don't have the money to do that, but if that's going to be the only way I can get rid of this bubble... Is this the best way to drain and fill? It's for an EJ, so does it apply to EA's? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21681 Thanks! -
I like how you ran the power wire, good stuff! I think I will copy you when I get around to installing my stereo someday. Looks good, keep it up man!

It's great! I like it sooo much better. I really didn't notice the difference until I installed my DCCD knob and tried out the FWD mode. Now that I have been driving it around for a little bit now, I really like the legacy TCU better for the AWD. When I used to gun it with the old TCU, the tires would spin, and there was a jolt when the back wheels kicked in. Kinda like nothing to the rear, and then all the power at once. Not gradual and sounded/felt horrible. Now it's super smooth and gradual and I don't even notice that the rear wheels have kicked in at all. At first I thought it was because my tires where new and warmed up, and there wasn't too much water on the road, so that's why I wasn't slipping, but when I turned on FWD mode and drove it around, the tires where spinning all the time! I was really surprised. I didn't even think that the AWD was working since I couldn't feel the jolt and there was no tire slippage, but running around in FWD mode made me realize it was working all the time, and working great to boot! No more jolts, and, most importantly, no more wheel slip! So far the toggles are working good. I need to do something about the design though. Keep me updated as to what you do. I might want to copy your ideas, it's not like I haven't done that already I didn't use hollow tubing, it's solid aluminum, but it's super light and does the trick. Hollow tubes should work as well.
