  1. I agree with WJM Wholeheartedly. The difference in torque is amazing, the sound is awesome. Noah, I undestand your point and Corky has a point too, which is relevant to me a bit I suppose. I use the water (20/80 meth/water sometimes) to control backfire risk. I am compressing LPG and have had a few expensive backfires. None reported after serious, serious abuse......and a little water.
  2. Be cool fellas. you don't want to be in the same cell as the dude after an 'event'. Let the cops handle it. Then blow up his mail box when he has been arrested.
  3. We fabricated the gearbox mount. The driveshaft needed cutting, there could have been a factory combination which worked, we didn't have time. The L series shifter needed shortening, so did the linkage rods. A low range cable needs to be rigged. Engine fits even better now, Ahem, I haven't hooked up low range yet.
  4. No worries Phiz, How long have you had the Brumby? I get no more than 12 months out of my boots. Sticks and rocks tear them and I think Dogs piss eats them too. You will learn the joys of the 36mm socket my young friend. But no more, ever! let me know when you are ready.
  5. Welcome, Konyak. Go with a SOHC cam EJ22 and you won't need to cut the frame rails . Most EJ20's are DOHC cam and too wide. If I started again I would go All Wheel Drive from the Start. Even with the EJ22 unmodified it was a handfull on dry road (in front wheel drive) Go with a Liberty or Legacy dual range AWD box or an RX full time box and adapter plate. HUGE DIFFERENCE (sorry to shout) Please ask anything you like. Cheers Matt
  6. Hear Hear, That is one cool looking car. Like many others....one of a kind. Automotive psychosis is expression too. Drools over the 3 x Hella rallye 2000's........yum Welcome.
  7. Cool, some shafts are fatter than others, there are numerous combo's. These will be actually stretched to final fit so it must be exact. BTW I can read metric and the other side of the ruler too.
  8. Righto Subyrally, send me your specs (shaft diametre and DOJ cup size). I HAVE JUST GONE INTERNATIONAL LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!!
  9. I bloody hope someone is interested- the amount of whining and whinging I see here about split CV boots is astounding. Those with turbos seem to melt the nearside one too. Heavy duty marine grade suede will not melt or tear. I will post a progress report.
  10. You want a care package from the metric world Scott? I can fedex them to you if you would like. Cheers Matt
  11. Still working on that, time and materials. we pay through the nose for genuine rubber ones here in Aus, the cheap ones don't last....the genuine ones don't last much longer. I am no bandit...we will work out something fair. Ballpark, probably $50-60 Aust a side. ISH! (subject to everything) Let me see how long it takes me and how the first run goes... I have some very appropriate testers who have volounteered.
  12. I am thinking of making a run, would many people be interested I wonder... Heavy duty, heat proof, lasts forever- custom made by hand. An indication of interest would be good. Cheeers, Matt
  13. 65,000 kilometres since the EJ swap, 18,000 since the blower went on and the boost arrived. I wouldn't say I have had no problems, but it runs like a good thing. Every morning!
  14. Hi all, I am about to rebuild the jet boat trailer, would like to match the rims to the WonderBrumby, has anyone ever made a trailer set up with Subie suspension? I was thinking the rear of a front wheel drive sedan? Any tips or pics would be much appreciated. Matt
  15. G'day Akira. What you need to do is have the existing radiatior nipples cut off and have larger ones soldered on. They are sort of right that it would be very hard to enlarge them, just replace them. You will need a 60 degreee elbow (male/male) also for the bottom hose, use it as a joiner, you will see what I mean. DO NOT USE the EA82 radiator, they suck compared to the EA81 in regards to cooling efficiency. The 81 one will work fine, I have a constant temp needle all the time and my EJ22 has a supercharger!!! As for the exhaust, get some flange plates, or cut some using a gasket as a template, then when it is all in the car and fitted up get your exhaust shop to bend some headers for you, the stock headers are restrictive and it's not always a drop in to get them to fit the EA xmember. If you run into any dramas, Ask! Matt
  16. It makes all the difference LP. They wont even be close enough to read the GL on the tailgate. Watch out for the arse end stepping out on gravel when you back off......in the blink of an eye!
  17. No vacuum hose on mine LP, there is the safety relay and wire though. That must make it electronic then!
  18. I know, its perfectly coincidental but fate has dealt us a cool hand. My speedo is 98% accurate (checked by radar gun and GPS). Close enough for me.
  19. Anyone who is interested can see her on the road In VIDEO here: http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...phillin5th.flv and here: http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...yhomeroads.flv
  20. I can pull away from the lights in 3rd gear, Have not touched low range in 4 months. A local wizard by the name of Will did my dash swap- in a morning.
  21. There are a few years with differences, mine was a plug and play swap. Came from a coupe, the touring wagoon ones work as well. You have to be a little lucky with year combinations. Also a oil pressure sender is required, and a unit to give intermittant on your wipers. Go for it.
  22. No LP, it is not electric as far as I know,- good idea though.
