RX....why?
Why an RX? Cuz they are worn the F out. I finally got the grassroots car on the road and drove it on a trip farther than 2 miles for the first time since I came across the car in Jan of tihs year...and finally purchased the car back from pleiades after we built it for the challenge.... that thing is worn out! Shifter is all over the place! Road noise....squeaks...noises all over....brakes suck...so much work...the only thing thats right on it is the engine now!

Slotted rotors are becomming a reality+pads
Rotors? I would imagine around/close to the same price. Pads too. and you are welcome for the cooler.

opinions on clutches....
well....in my turbo EA82 experience.... the stock 4wd clutch is good as long as it IS the OE one... NAPA Reman SUCKS big time. NO good for constant autocross launches and higher than stock power... The OE XT6 (NAPA NEW...but its just the same OE stuff in a NAPA box) is t3h bomb y0! Held up to everything Ive put it thru so far.

Burnouts
I laid down several 100+ footers with the RWD RX that JWX has now (its FT4WD now tho). SMOKE EVERYWHERE!

Carb Vs Turbo Long Block
Oh, i missed that LONG/SHORT block part...NO..wont fit LONG block...but will SHORT block. 24k miles. s_s: Yes, 9.5:1 as compared ot 8.5:1 is ALOT in turbo world....I still dont see how the shortblocks have different compression ratios....as the P#'s were the same the last time I looked them up....

Slotted rotors are becomming a reality+pads
Ive priced the rotors and the slotting process...at this time, TOTAL cost (pending finalization of the slotting process costs) for a PAIR of rotors for our EA82 Leones....look to be $80. Plus shipping ofcourse. How many people would be interested in such a thing? Right now there is no "group buy" issues or any kind of "we have to have this many to do so" type deal...it could be done on a 'one at a time' basis.... we also need to figure out what kind of slotting pattern we would want to set as a standard for these rotors...keep in mind, the more complex...the cost might go up.... Still...interest? Oh, and on the brake pads... Looks like EBC green stuff pads would be about $80 a front set as well...and the Carbotech Bobcat and panther XP compunds (500000x better braking grip than EBC/stock) run about $110 per axle set. DOnt forget Ive got Brainded stainless brake lines for the front, $55 shipped. edit: those of you with XT6 5 lug conversions or what not, an EA81 stuff, I can get rotors and slotting done to them as well....i have not done up any costs for those yet.

I Finally Got myself an RX
I will give you $100 for it....i dont care if it runs or not. probably a simple fix such as timing belts.
-
Carb Vs Turbo Long Block
everything will bolt up. Be careful aobut timing and run premium gas. the only mod is the rear block PCV vent is not present on CARB/SPFI blocks...so you will ahve to block that off for the turbo stuff on the manifold. Easy peasy fix.

EA82T Blues
Maybe the head gaskets were not 'seated' before the cooling system came up to temp and some seeped thru. From what i have heard...the HG's for SUBARUs, and I know the NAPA ones do this but not quite as good....the HG surface 'melts' at temp to bond on the head and block, creating a really well sealed enviorment. Thats why those heads are very sticky on the block and the stuff takes forever to get off the heads and block. Some kind of carbon/fiberglass/ or whatever...it is. Some kind of composite i think. anyhow, i think those napa ones were slow to do so, and with the next heat cycle it should be done. Just leave the rad cap off until it gets warm and that t-stat opens...then put the cap on and see how it does... thats my .015 cents....yes, 1.5 cents. lol

EA82T Blues
Personally I would NEVER use napa HGs on a turbo....but alas, I DID...but I did something totaly whack to them....so they have held so far. W/out the whack mod the last turbo car i did with napa HGs blew up 4 days later. TOTAL HG failure. Try oddcomps suggestion frist tho.

Those are NOT stock for sure. Should send one of those off to RC ENg. and see what those flow at...someone might have at one point had engine management with those injectors and htey might be HUGE ones as compared ot stock....???

What kind of gaskets did you use? OE SUBARU ones I hope...

do any one recognize these injectors
ALL injectors for the EA82 MPFI/TURBO should look like the one on the right. The one on the left is an experimentation.

is this too much?
I usually use a braker bar.

Need help
you probably simply just pulled the TC off the shafts, that will create a leak. Put it back on the shafts and it will not leak.
