  1. Ohyeah, Mudrat79 also can modify the 5speed D/R so it has LImited Slip in the front diff...none of this center diff with limited slip. It's pretty cool that he's developed a way.
  2. If you posted this in the New Generation Forum, I'm sure you would have received a much faster of an answer. we don't know anything after a Loyale! [HTi]Johnson
  3. Carb rebuild? Fuel Filters?
  4. Hello, I'm an old gen owner asking if Subaru still makes a dual range transmission? I've heard rumors of them being available in Japan. Thanks, [HTi]Johnson
  5. But you could be one of the few to say "I have a Subaru 360" [HTi]Johnson
  6. What did you do to the engine...did you put the t-belts on right? WHen I did my engine, I put the passenger side belt on wrong. So it was only running on 2 cylinders. [HTi]Johnson
  7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6467&item=4544963619&rd=1#ebayphotohosting It's a 360!!! Sorry if this is already posted I was too excited to look. [HTi]Johnson OH yah, this thing is soo old, it's not old school, it's preschool.
  8. Are you a carbed, spfi, or mpfi? I'd think it was your catylitic convertor. [HTi]Johnson
  9. Do an oil change, and add 1/4 to 1/2 a quart of ATF, yes ATF to it. Drive it hard for a while...then putt around...then drive it hard, then putt around...then hard, it should go away. ATF is a detergent...it will help clean the lifters out, if anything is clogged. Maybe you do have an oil pump seal going bad, but this is a cheap try. [HTi]Johnson Oh yeah, when was the last time the oil was changed. Maybe it thinned out too much??
  10. Keep it 2wd...then you won't be tempted to hurt her. Oh yeah, if you do make in a manual...do you call it a sex change? HAH.
  11. Sorry to jack your post... but what are swaybars made of...what kind of metal...spring steel? Thanks. [HTi]Johnson
  12. I'd start with fuel filter. If that doesn't help. Timing...on turbos I believe it is 20' BTDC. You have to hook the green connectors together ...which on my GL-10 are under the steering column behind a panel. There are two black ones too...don't connect those. They pull codes from the computer. Then check the cap and rotor...and wires. Or it could be your turbo crapping out..that's almost the worst case though. Pull the intake off the top of your engine and look for oil...well I guess you would be burning it too...does your car smoke alot? Sorry for the fragmented reply...hope it helps though. [HTi]Johnson
  13. FSU(fook stuff up) of course . I like to drive fast on gravel...so I was thinking I might rally and I wanted to be smart about it. I knew about using plates...thanks for reminding me...i forgot. I guess I'll have to look at cars with them. THANKS! [HTi]Johnson
  14. In an EA82 wagon, where would YOU mount an internal rollcage...? If you have pics...please direct them to me. THANKS [HTi]Johnson
  15. DO it. where is it legal to drive fast on gravel roads? Other than organized events like this. DO IT. I was thinking of trying some rallies myself. Oh yeah, did I say DO IT?? [HTi]Johnson
  16. Hello. Will an EA82 Subaru GL Sadan hood fit on a EA82 Subaru GL-10 wagon? Thanks.
  17. FIXED IT! That's right. No more T.O.D. I did an oil change...with 15x40w Castrol High Mileage and a new filter. with 1/4qt ATF. I drove it normal for about 10 miles. Then I got pissed when it didn't fix. SO I reamed on it...high RPMS....like 7000 to 7500. For about 1 mile. THen I putted around about 1/2 mile then reamed on it and it faded away. YES!!
  18. NO NO NOt piston slap...!! I was asking if it could lose power because the knock sensor could be sensing the massive tapping. And wouldn't bad lifters make it so the valves open later? THis is coming from one side also...the driver's.
  19. Yeah I started my car up today ...first I thought I was getting an exhaust leak...nope...it just got worse... So, I went to the store and got supplies for the oil change. But before I left, for the store, I put in a 1/2 qt of ATF...20 miles...and still noise.(That worked for me last time,MMO didn't.). SO I'm kinda thinking that my oil thinned out...way out... I bought Castrol High Mileage 15-40. Tomorrow I will do the change and report back... And would the T.O.D. mess with the knock sensor? Because the car's drivablilty sure did goto crap...it lugs in low rpms and kinda misses in high. I only posted this because this is the worst tick I have ever heard... 1987 GL-10 Turbo.
  20. Hey man, don't sweat and don't take it to a mechanic. You can probably do all the work yourself. As for that noise in the timing cover area...i'd say it was your idler pulley falling off(coming un bolted) and that caused the belt to pop off. There are two belts (one for each cam gear). Just pop the outter covers off and see if the belts are on each gear. And Inspect them. Believe me, belt replacement is not that hard. Oh, if your belt breaks or anything of that nature, nothing will happen to the engine...AKA your valves won't hit the piston...you just won't have a running car until the belts are replaced. That hole, right next to the exhaust port...my car has one too...I believe it is just a casting design... The squeaking....take the belt off the water pump, and move the pump pulley up and down..and in and out..if it moves more than a fraction of a millimeter...i'd say it's in need of replacement. I hope this helps and don't get discouraged by this. Once you get it running, you will have yourself a very reliable car. [HTi]Johnson
  21. What about wiring harness? [HTi]Johnson
  22. IN Oregon, I believe the law is you must have all the seats with belts available filled first, then you can pile in the back, but since there is belts with the jump seats no problem. My friend and I are going to install some into his brat...some one cut them out along the line...so we went to the junkyard with a small generator and a cut off grinder...got the whole setup for $50.!!! [HTi]Johnson Oh yeah, if you look in the back of your Brumby...you'll either see spots by the cab, on each side, that have threaded holes or just raised squares in the bed, that's where the belt buckles are fastened. I'll try to get you pics.
  23. WOW Here's my background
  24. I"ve always thought that you "down under folks" we're crazy. This makes it a fact. You wouldn't need a coffin if you crashed on that thing...just a mop and a bucket. [HTi]Johnson Oh yeah, that'd be sweet if it had a suicide shifter on it...
  25. I will have a hood scoop installed once I get the time to. I know I need to cool the air, why do you think I installed the intercooler in the first place.
