Why do you think your transmission is bad?

At the very least; get it for the 5 lug stuff, if not a good running wedge. Back when I was looking at another Subaru to get, a wedge was my 1st choice. Xt4 or Xt6. There have been 3 on CL down here in the past 4 years. Not so rare up north, but non existent down here. Go for it!

2-1/4" x 2" It should have a little metal tab on it. Both of my brats (85/84) have the black, 6 six wire connector, box. As opposed to the blue 4 wire one.

Howdy, the fuel pump only receives power when the engine is cranking. There is a little black box (sometimes blue) that controls the fuel pump power under the driver side kick panel. That's, more than likely, what needs replacing.

I have a cherry bomb on my brat. It sets of alarms at around 4500rpm. VERY LOUD. Pretty deep sound relative to fart cans. +1 on Idasho's advice. Factory air cleaner poses to restrictions. Weber should be your first goal.

This problem has seemed to have solved itself for now. No idea what it was, went and started it up today the tach climbed and got stuck. Then it resumed to normal functioning.
