  1. As I strictly hang with car people I cannot say the Squirrel (80 Brat) has been hated on. But she sure does stick out like a sore thumb in my driveway and I absolutely love it! I get more looks driving her than I did in my 2011 WRX. So glad I sold that WRX, lol.
  2. Bump for a great guy! Thanks Todd for taking the time to talk to me and gather parts. Nice to meet someone who is willing to help. Thanks!
  3. Cool, got a response already and pics. Jackmans are on it for sure. Guy states he will ship fenders and stuff so I am thinking anything goes.
  4. All that in two weeks?! Shenanigans until I see pics, lol.
  5. As you said, more beer! And of course yes, pics!!
  6. Gotta dig this up. Anyone know what the BS on those wheels is? Look like older Toyota wheels so I am thinking 4.5" Anyone know tire specs as well? Look like 205 50 R15's?
  7. Forgot to ask if you noticed a power decrease with the extra circumference?
  8. Looks like he had a few sets of the 100's laying around though.
  9. Good find! Love your overflow bottle, lol. Get to work!!!!
  10. I just gotta beat this What do you all think I could pull off on a 1980 Brat to make it look like this? Would a 205/45/16 fit on a Gen 1 the same way it does on this gen 2? I still have no idea what BS to run? Are these going to really stick out far? How far maybe is a better question. I want to make it look like below but have no idea which BS to get on a gen 1. Would a 205 even fit? The diameter is almost the same as a stock tire. Any definitive help would be greatly appreciated. Jon
  11. In this last pic I see where the shifter rod enters the top of the case. I have an EA71 4-speed that leaks right here. Can you show me or explain what needs to be done to fix this leak? Are there seals on that rod and can you get to them from here?
  12. Another good writeup: http://offroadingsubarus.com/6stud_conversion.html
  13. X2 Amazing to think where we have came. Subaru still makes (rather) inexpensive 4WD's that will still go almost anywhere. Jeep still makes Grand Cherokees but without straight front axles and they will still go almost anywhere. The times have not really changed and the demand is still there for both. Irony defined.
  14. I was thinking some steel rod to use as a plug. Have a bevelled edge on the plug and use the bevel holes on the wheel. Use enough to get a tack or two going and you won't need to sit there and try and fill the hole with weld? Anyone think that would work?
  15. So, if I were to get some wheels that were 4" backspacing like yours I would have no clearance issues with a 195? Would you think a 205 45 R16 would clear as well?
  16. Sweet, you are going my route - tires and wheels that cost more than the car, lol. I am so torn between 15*6, 15*7, 16 *6, 16*7....? 3.75 or 4 back spacing. 195, 205 width....I have no idea what will fit on a gen 1 Brat?!
  17. Nicely done! I am betting you will be flamed for that method but I would have done it too. What is your offset or back spacing at you think? 3.75, 4.00? I am trying to get an idea of offset for my gen I Brat.
  18. So what offsets are you people running then? For a 15x6 would a 3.75 put too much out of the fender? I have located a 4.5 backspacing but I don't know if that would rub?
