  1. Ok, I thought I would show you guys another set of these fenders. I got the call a couple hours ago and decided I should go get these. First, the box. I have to say George did a great job of packing these. Here is the right fender. Here is the left fender. Both together. Rough hanging on the Brat. Now without flash. So, what do I think? Well, I am on the fence to be honest. Are they worth the money for the rarity of the part, yes. Should they be in better condition?... The driver side has a lot of cracks and most noticeable is the signal area. Passenger side door opening is cracked as well. Most noticeable is the bubbling all over each one?! What is this and is it common in fiberglass? I assume I can sand this down but I am not sure as of yet. Am I happy, yes. I am kind of sad that they are in such bad shape but they are very old. Aside from the bubbles and cracks they are kind of gouged and scratched. But I am a perfectionist and everything annoys me. I will get over it though and make them work. I truly hope that my new signal assemblies fit correctly and that these are not warped. So far no warping. I am very thankful for being led to them and the fact George has them. He is a wonderful guy and I cannot praise his conduct enough. Jon
  2. That was a good read. Would love to have that in my pocket, er uh, my garage.
  3. Power and reliability? I would not settle for less than a 22. I would personally try for a built EJ25 from a newer Rex. Completely new suspension is a must with coils. Subframe additions Armor Rollcage to compete Basically you want a CORR truck with a Subaru body?!
  4. Seems like Rock Auto is hit or miss for almost anyone I have ever seen order from them?! Not like a 1 in 10 thing gets messed up but 50/50.... No consistency is my point.
  5. I don't mind the "nub" but of all the things wrong with the Brat, the pedal gets the most flack, lol. PM sent for pedal. Thanks.
  6. All I have now is the arm and the nub for the pedal. I cannot seem to locate a pedal anywhere. From what I gather the pedal attached to the floor as well? Is there any special trick that you have done to get another pedal on there or?????? I can weld up/make anything. I just wanted to ask before I waste too much time. Thanks all. Jon
  7. Had to, I am a bad person. I cannot mount any turn signals until I have new fenders as mine are shot. I am sure I will be needing a windshield gasket soon too. It never stops. Oh and to verify, George (guy with these fenders) is a top notch guy. He called me today and let me know he received my $ and will be shipping tomorrow. Very nice to deal with and has a ton of info on finishing fiberglass. So maybe next Monday I will have a package for me?!
  8. I bit the bullet and ordered a pair. I had to use the windshield gasket money for them but you gotta do what you gotta do. I will post some pics when they arrive and try to remove my rusty metal fenders to test fit.
  9. Nice ride and story. Got me thinking I want one of these too now. Hmmmmmm
  10. Forgot to ask where you snagged the doors?! I can't find any local parts. Not to deter the thread but do you have access to any fenders?
  11. Top mount is prone to heat soak and at lower speed will do more harm than cooling. If you are able to do a FMC you will be better off. Don't worry about snow either, Colorado is not that bad to hurt that. Unless you are gonna be plowing snow and drifts that is. If it were mine I would do a FMC.
  12. Cool, another Gen 1 Brat - Yes, need pics. Welcome. This place is pretty darn cool.
  13. Alas, a set surfaces to the board. Might have to save up for a set. Please throw em on and take pics!
  14. As posted in the payment thread: Just moved and saw that the $ is due. I have to apologize and opt out at this point. Thanks.

  16. Not to be a D-Bag and focus on me but I was hoping to hear what you all thought about the route I took? Anyone have experience with a similar setup? Thanks.
  17. I personally have gained very much from this thread and feel it pertinent for those seeking answers to the "trailer wheel" questions. To add to this thread I offer my latest ideas and purchases. I have been reading a ton and pulled the trigger on a set of wheels and tires. Based on my drawing from below and the fact I have received the wheels and tires, I feel I found a great answer to the trailer wheels questions. Here is my drawing of the wheels that I used to order the wheels: Here is what I bought: Kuhmo Ecsta's in the 205 50 R15 flavor and US Wheels 70-5760P in the 15"X7" flavor. As you can see the overall dimensions are almost exact. My only concern is the width with the new 205's. But, I am hopeful they will not rub. Here they are unmounted: Due to the additional height of the wheels and the additional width of the tires it looks like I will clear the rear control arms by a few millimeters. Just need to get them mounted up and the hubs converted to 6-lugs. Then I will know if I was right mathematically?! Jon
