  1. "Drive by wire" Call the dealer and have it towed in immediately. Thats very dangerous and should be covered under 3yr/36k.
  2. Check your power steering fluid level and replace the belts if they look dry or cracked out. 15 minute job and 40 bux in parts is worth it.
  3. I could get you a LHD one, its already pulled. You'll have to do the homework and find out if it will work with your engine, or better yet source a LHD intake manifold and know it will work.
  4. I think that'd be reasonable...you paid 900 all ready so I kindof think they ought to just do it for the cost of the pump.
  5. LOL! Yeah, I make MY passengers rotate a little prehistoric crank until the window goes down.
  6. You'll have to use air tools to get the bolt off or break it loose with the timing belt still on and hope the tension of the belt holds it although I dont recommend this as you can bend valves very easily if you aren't careful.
  7. Something is causing it to have an air bleed in the system. Head gasket can cause it but you really need to rent or borrow a cooling system pressure tester and pump the system up to like 13PSI and see if maybe you have a pinhole leak that you cant normally find or something. If you don't its probably a Head Gasket. Autozone will loan them to you.
  8. Gotta mow the yard to be able to find the bolts you drop while working on it.
  9. That'd be me. I wouldnt call it plug and play you still need to cut it to length to suit your needs but all the unnecessary stuff is removed and all of it is tagged and ready to be wrapped in your protective plastic and installed. $200 plus shipping each way. To do it: Pull the entire wiring harness from a 90-94 Legacy. Also pull the complete intake, MAF, ECU, ignitor, relays, etc from same said car as you need to pull all your donor parts from the same car. Strip off the tape and plastic and place the harness into a box. Please plug your ECU and ignitor into the harness and ship that along with it. Get a quote for shipping it to me and from me to you and paypal the $200 and the return shipping amount and state in the paypal how it should be shipped back and to where....or even better make a return mailing label for me. Write a short note letting me know what year and model you are installing it to, what year and model the harness is from (I usually can tell but its nice to know), and whether or not you are going to want A/C to work on the harness. Mail it to: Shawn Watson 9506 Otis St Westminster CO 80021 Any questions please feel free to PM me.
  10. Likely a bare wire or wires between the dash and the taillights. Youre going to have to take the right side (pass) sill plates off and OHM the wires from the circuit and such to try to find it and replace the section that is burned up.
  11. Wow, no redneck stereotypes broken here. Car in Cinderblocks in front yard, dangerous working conditions..............ill stop there.
  12. 1. This is the Auto trans computer. You can eliminate it. 2. If you want Cruise control for an Ej22 swap its alot easier to use an Audiovox aftermarket unit. I will install one in my wagon when its all running and operational but until then the only snafu I can see is the speed sensor bracket and magnet...shouldnt be terribly hard to fab up though. 3. Yes its the ABS computer and you can eliminate it. Basically any wires coming off the car that arent in the dash or forward can be eliminated but to make things easier strip out the Auto trans and ABS stuff and you will probably find that virtually everything in that clump of mess virtually falls out by itself.
  13. Closing thread. This is more suitable for Off Topic than anything but probably wouldn't have been approved in Off Topic by every moderator/admin.
  14. I saw 2 parts cars at Pull n save of this era Brat today.
  15. Front wheel drive 79 wagon with right around 100K on it. I snagged three parts from it but if you own one of these and are local you really should go check it out. Its at Action Auto Salvage in Aurora CO , a pull a part yard with decent prices. Its kindof a golden yellow color and its an automatic. I grabbed the carb shield, DL emblem and the Automatic emblem from the rear lift gate. $3/ea plus cheapie shipping. Emblems are in VERY good condition. The car has A/C and the weirdest clutch fan setup I have ever seen on a Subaru. Sadly the car looks like it would drive out and except for the tops of the fenders is pretty much rust free.
  16. The Kennedy ones work really nice if you are putting it in a rear engine application. http://www.kennedyeng.com
  17. That'd make a nice USRM article... Junkie when u get it fixed up would you mind posting it in the forum?
  18. I plan on doing that exact thing on mine this week! Take pictures and I will as well....this could be competitive!!!
  19. Pretty sure i saw that too on the I 70 freeway about a month ago. (yes I was going to pull n save). You will also want to keep an eye out for an 83/84 turbo coupe with a rally paint job. I know the owner...rather fast back in the day and finally running again.
  20. Maybe look for marks of a manufacturer and number on the sides of the bearing?
