mystery wire on 85 wagon
MorganM replied to diluded000's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes two wires per connector that we are refering to here. Two for the IAC and two for the injector/TB. Two from the wire harnes to IAC and two from the wire harness to the injector/TB. Grand total of 8 wires and 4 connectors. Hopefully I'm not confusing you more but it sounds like you are getting it squared away. -

I belive you are refering to the Idle Air Control Valve. It has a red/black and black wire coming off with a plastic black connector. There is another very similar red/black and black wire with similar plastic black connector; thats for your Injector in the Throttle Body. The mating connectors will be coming from your wire harness off to the 'right' near the battery. The connectors look interchanable but they are proprietary to one another; only goes together one way dotn force it -
I spose I could use another forum to waste company hours on

Front tires are wearing normaly and evenly. EA82 BYB 3" lift. Thousands of miles on lift and tires now; offroad, street, and interstate. Actually my tires are hardly worn at all. They still look new really. I bought tires rated for a truck twice the weight

I painted mine for a little over $400 (this included buying air compressor) and it looks like crap. You get what you pay for http://www.mnchopshop.org/features/suparoo/painting.htm Scroll down to 'painting the body' I wrote this before I was done. I finished it since then (years ago) Lemme know if you want any gaps filled in.

Rear Swing Gate Allied Armament
MorganM replied to Shadyirishmen's topic in Products for your Subaru
Offroad events and parks require tow points that pass tech inspection. 1/2" grade 8 bolt on tow hooks. Screw in clevis is acceptable as long as where it's mounted is again secured with grade 8 1/2" bolts. What I did was bolt on my custom bumper using the proper bolts and attached the a 3/4" clevis to the bumper and I've passed several tech inspections now. Food for thought when building offroad bumpers -
Are you done messing around with ancient fuel delivery technology and gone SPFI yet or what?

I use two of them. One behind each seat.

Nore were either oils at full operating temp. But the displays are fun to play with while you wait

Point being; just slapping in taller springs isnt the total solution for a suspension lift. Have to lower the tranny up front also to try and relieave the CVJs and DOJs. I've made countless mods since my BYB 3" lift kit install
-
Taller springs = more angle on CVJoints.

Put it on a manual switch and then you have full control over it. Turn it off if you want to listen closer. Honestly though if a problem isnt loud enough to hear over an electric fan its not worth worrying about!
-
I'd run a 3.184:1 low gear with out worrying about anything!

LOL didnt I say right when we pulled over? "wonder if your rotor just flew off inside your dizzy cap" Had it happend twice on my EA82 even ============= Mine used to be a daily driver untill I started moding it heavily. Then it became stricly my toy and I bought a daily driver. My KIA has a warrenty, gets better milage, and goes 110 MPH

Pretty rare that mud is going to be JUST deep enough that your diff hanger is dragging but your unibody isnt.Whenever I'm in mud its upto the floor boards and higher; flipped upside down the diff hanger would still drag All the drag against the unibody surface and pushing against the front is far worse than the diff hanger.

Yes a Phantom Grip.

I would suggest crawling underneath both and taking a good long look at whats really going on under there. You'll quickly realize why there will be no swaping of a frame You'll also come up with a far better plan of how to get the XT6 running gear onto your Brat. When you are planing all those fancy sub systems also factor in how you are going to fit a Twin Turbo ER27 into the engine bay of a Brat. An NA ER27 barely fits into a hatchback. Placement of two turbos under there will have to be clever. Good luck.

I hear ya with the rear main crossmember lift blocks Singletrack. I know SubaruTex has an issue with it also and came up with those skids. Here in MN up north is 90% big old iron ore rocks. Just a mater of time before I smack against a big rock and rip one side clean out of my unibody. There will be no bending back and driving on for my rig; too much rust. Once, MAYBE twice, it could happen and then it would be time for welding in some seriouse reinforcment for me. I hope to get some more skid gear on my rig before the 4th of July and then I wont have to worry as much. Then we can hit some of the other black diamond trails we skipped last April

bah those arent mudders; those are ATs doesnt look like a bad option though if one was trying to stick with OEM wheels.
