  1. Where are you stranded, guy. If you're close to my place (Chugiak), I'll just pull you into my garage and you can work on it there. If you are in the Anchorage area, give Snowman a call. He's always up for a wrench session. He is a wizard with the very car you're wrenching on and is enrolled in the UAA auto program - might be able to wheel you into the shop and out in no time. Drop a line if you need some help. (The SKA is here to help).
  2. Man, you've got The Supremes hiding out underneath your car!
  3. Is there any word of Subaru building a hybrid car in the near future?
  4. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25390 Try there or Moosens.
  5. Probably about the same position as your eyes after the wreck. Glad you're all right.
  6. PM Richierich. He has a shop in Portland and can fix it for you at a decent price. He a great mechanic, honest as the day is long, and fair. He might even be able to point you to a potential buyer.
  7. Congrats. Does this mean you're going to be a used car dealer? Don't those rank socially right along with lawyers? (Just kidding - good luck)
  8. Richie, that's the route I'm looking at going - converting to a 5spd d/r tranny and an lsd. Since I'm not sure where the problem is, I am probably money ahead to just swap out the entire driveline and throw in a lsd while I'm at it. If you should run across an lsd that can be converted, or one of those elusive 3.9's, snag it for me. I'm good for the cash at any time. Parts aren't always easy to come by here, but I can probably find a tranny and driveshaft locally.
  9. That's an interesting concept. I'd like to see some dyno results on it.
  10. Not me. I just wasn't clear on the meaning of his message.
  11. I had a similar problem a bit back. I had some debris in one of the jets that controls the idle speed. Take it apart and clean it thoroughly, if you feel comfortable with carbs.
  12. Look at all of the fun we have when we do favors for friends.
  13. Welcome to the board. Go buy a pillow and drive it like hell.
  14. You'd better take it easy on poor old Haggard at least until you get that Brat up and running.
  15. Took it for a ride with Kelly (Snowman) today to confirm the squirrelness of the Brat, and he agrees, something is WHACKED. So, I guess I'll be looking to do a conversion to a 5spd D/R and while I'm at it, I may as well put in a LSD (3.9). I can probably find the tranny and driveline locally, but will need a headhunter from the land of Pull-a-parts to drum up one of the coveted and highly elusive 3.9 LSD's. Ed, are you interested?
  16. Please clarify your message a bit. Because of your limitations with English (not your fault), your message could mean: 1. You are trying to deal with someone from Romania who has promised to send you parts and you are wondering about the logistics/legality,... ? 2. You are living/ going to be visiting Romania and want someone to send you parts there...? 3. You have struck a deal with someone in Romania and want approval/blessings/ permission from someone on the board? I don't know how to answer you with the way the message is written.:-\
  17. Do a Kelly blue book search on both of themand see which isa better buy. Buy that one, resell it and then buy a Brat.
  18. It was a shock as we had about 5 inches a month and a half ago and virtually nothing since. The affects of global warming have had the temps in the mid 50's at times in MID NOVEMBER!
  19. That would be SKA (Subaru Klub of Alaska). Yup.
  20. I'll gladly send you some of ours. We got a foot overnight on Thursday.
  21. I've been to the one in Soldotna, and they are good. Best place in the state for an oil change (oil and filter installed = $10). But the best shop I've foud is Dave Miller's Subaru in Eagle River. When I have a problem I can't figure out, I see him. He is the dude.
  22. USMB He's one of the founders of this site. He doesn't run a shop, he's just very knowledgable and friendly.
  23. That is a score. I could see a 2.2 in that.
