  1. I can't believe the very first post didn't proclaim Moosens as the Subaru Meister of CT!
  2. Now is when the learning process really begins. Good luck with it.
  3. Welcome to the board. I'm sure that before long you will find all that you want (and more).
  4. Nice looking ride.
  5. Why do you want to rev a cold engine higher than 4800 rpm? Let the poor thing warm up, extend the life of the motor.
  6. Go buy the cheapest, gaudiest contact paper you can find. Peel the back off and apply it sticky side down. Lift up, and ta da!
  7. The problem with them is the cost of the tires to put on them.
  8. Sometimes it's the easy things we overlook. Since the plugs are in a tough area to reach, you might check to make certain the plug wires are firmly clipped on to the plugs. I've seen people who pushed the rubber boot on, but the metal end of the plug wire wasn't over the end of the plug.
  9. You're absolutely right. This is indeed a worthy concept for a new forum.
  10. One of the purposes of this venture is to establish a help network in the event of breakdown. We would welcome your inclusion in this mission.
  11. I'll be around. Give me a ring. If you need my phone #, PM me.
  12. Mount some on the back, too. It'll create the illusion of going faster.
  13. I heard on NPR this weekend, on Car Talk, that you could go on their website and find a list of recommended shops and mechanics from around the U.S. according to makes of cars and geographic areas.
  14. Scam. You might as well mount a pinwheel onthe hood for all the good it will do.
  15. Build the garage. The car will come. (If you build it, they will come. If you build it, they will come....)
  16. Welcome to the board. The idea was originally kicked around but never materialized. This set of posts is the second go round and Kelly (snowman) has agreed to spearhead the operation. As he is a college student, he's quite busy, but I am confident it will be a go. If you want to do a meet and greet, let's put one together for sometime in Jan.
  17. I know, replacing them is a royal pain, but it's something I've been looking at for too long. Thanks, Paul. I'll keep in touch.
  18. Demand a new transmission and a Christmas ham to boot!
  19. Paul, the ones I need most are the small one on the driver's side, the far one on the passenger's side, and if you have it, the one in the middle that's also a longer one. Mine are all rotted and the one on the driver's side has vanes that are no longer connected. Thanks. Matt Welk P.O. Box 671841 Chugiak, AK 99567
  20. Paul, I'm sure you didn't forget about the Brat vent louvers, but I thought I'd ask anyway, just to be sure.
  21. There's a guy in Soldotna, AK with a plow on the front of his Brat and a homemade wrecker set up in the bed. It looks pretty primitive, but it works to shift cadavercars around the lot and adjoining yard. If you want an idea, Paul, the next time I'm down there I'll take a couple of pictures.
  22. Welcome to the board. for mods info, do a search and you'll be surprised at the info already archived As for lifts, www.ozified.com There is also a local guy here that has an Ozified lift and drilled out rims with Super Swampers (15" rims, I believe) who wants to sell the whole set up - lifts, rims and tires - for around $500. If you're interested, PM me and I'll put you in touch with him. Mudrat also sells and installs custom lifts of almost any size. He's in Oregon.
  23. Try this: get a half dozen of those chemical hand warmers and put them around your carb. Then wrap it in aluminum foil, and then put a towel around it. That should melt any ice you mighthave in the carb. If that doesn't work, you couldalways try what I did as a young adult - kick the damn thing. It never made the car start, but I felt better afterwards.
  24. Welcome to the board. My inclination is that you're dealing with a car worth over $20,000 U.S. dollars. I'd have the work done professionally and avoid potential headaches - and not void the warranty.
  25. Own 3 subbies- 96 Legacy = 190,000 miles 93 Legacy = 130,000 miles 1983 Brat = 145,000 miles Expect to double current miles
