  1. It's almost always simple things that get you.
  2. Did you check connections on the battery posts?
  3. Thanks for introducing a new forum - much needed.
  4. Brian, welcome to the board. Please explain what it does after you close the hood and start to drive.
  5. Radiation and chemotherapy. Oh, you mean rust... never mind.
  6. My wife gets 28-29 in her 96 Legacy, and my son 26 - 28 in his 92.
  7. The diaphram on the end of the air breather snout that controls the gate (closes when it's cold, opens when warm) - $100 from the dealer - $60 used from AAA Subaru. I know it's not in the hundreds like some of the other parts mentioned, but this is such a small, insignificant part that it's just a blatant rip-off.
  8. There are worse places to be.
  9. 5w30 in winter, unless you have a head bolt heater of oil pan heater. Then run the same as the rest of the year, just plugit in.
  10. That price is high even for my neck of the woods. With mileage like that, you should get it for way less. I'd say $1500 tops.
  11. Happy to see you figured out the problem. Have you put a new one on yet? How is Haggard running now?
  12. I believe Edrach has a set of alloy 14's for sale right now. I can fit 205/75/14's under my Brat with very little fender modifications. Much better gas mileage, too.
  13. Your best bet is to: 1. Visit the USRM on this site and then 2. Go buy a reliable manual to walk you through the process. Neither operation is too technically difficult, but to give detailed information is time-consumptive and probably redundant - visit the USRM first. It has a ton of good info. Good luck.
  14. So, you're looking at putting over a grand into a car that books for about $8oo. What do you think?
  15. Welcome. I'm sure you'll learn to like the performance of the engine even better than the sound.

Try www.Ozified.com - they are BYB kits made in America (San Diego) by P.K. Davis. I believe he either has a kit for Legacies or will be coming out with one soon. In my opinion, these are the best d/i/y kits available. If you live or are traveling near Oregon, call Mudrat and he can virtually lift anything to about any height you want. Good luck
  17. It could be the envy of Honda owners in your rear view mirrir.
  18. Snag it, man. Even with the cost of a complete motor replacement, you'll be money ahead.
  19. Sounds like it could be a problem with the throw out bearing.
  20. Think of it this way: If the guy who had it for sale is unscrupulous enough to strike a second deal after yours, would you trust him to believe you were getting what he said you were? There may have been problems he wasn't disclosing - if he's dishonest about one thing, it's quite possible he's dishonest about others as well. You may have dodged a bullet.
