The diaphram on the end of the air breather snout that controls the gate (closes when it's cold, opens when warm) - $100 from the dealer - $60 used from AAA Subaru. I know it's not in the hundreds like some of the other parts mentioned, but this is such a small, insignificant part that it's just a blatant rip-off.

I believe Edrach has a set of alloy 14's for sale right now. I can fit 205/75/14's under my Brat with very little fender modifications. Much better gas mileage, too.

Your best bet is to: 1. Visit the USRM on this site and then 2. Go buy a reliable manual to walk you through the process. Neither operation is too technically difficult, but to give detailed information is time-consumptive and probably redundant - visit the USRM first. It has a ton of good info. Good luck.

Think of it this way: If the guy who had it for sale is unscrupulous enough to strike a second deal after yours, would you trust him to believe you were getting what he said you were? There may have been problems he wasn't disclosing - if he's dishonest about one thing, it's quite possible he's dishonest about others as well. You may have dodged a bullet.
