  1. BWM's wagon is in a state of being stripped to build a new one. He's looking for a replacement now that he's got all of the components to put together his dream machine. Let us know if you're headed this way and we'll throw together a meet and greet.
  2. Paul, was out of town. Thanks for remembering. I'll drop an e-mail soon (tomorrow with address).
  3. Torxxx, that explains why I missed you in Fairbanks this weekend. I had the Brat there and it ran great, even in the -28 on Friday morning. Good luck with the wiring- hope to see you in April for the lift session.
  4. Yeah, and I bought my Brat in Portland, so that must count for something.
  5. Paul, I mentioned some door handle cups for a gen 2 brat and a d/s mirror for the same brat. Is that still in the picture? I know you're busy and have a family, and a life and... No pressure, just wondering if those are available (door handle cups = gray)
  6. It appears the USMB was well-represented. Good job, guys.
  7. Kaja, wow, you have the worst luck. The car will hold in gear and the one that works best is the one opposite gravity. If the car is pointed downhill, use reverse. If uphill, first.
  8. John, I got mine yesterday. Too cool. Thanks again. I'm sure Snowman will be sorry he didn't order any of the latest production. This batch will probably set him in on designing something for the next round.
  9. What does snow look like?
  10. This could turn out like Jackass: The movie, part 17 - Fox on the Run.
  11. I know it's a long haul, but one of my students has a (he says) rust free 88 xt that runs well but has some problems with the tranny. Bring your tranny here, slap it in and drive home. He wants 4 or 5 hundred for it, but needs money.
  12. I'll bet he's happy he didn't have to pay by the word for his write up. What a long-winded spiel. He could be a Baptist minister.
  13. So, do you suppose it's instant oatmeal, or old fashioned oatmeal? I prefer the more organic myself.
  14. It looks like somebody put some thought and effort into it originally. It's not just a hack job.
  15. Thanks again, John. I will wear my apparel proudly and show Norm what quality work you turn out. Maybe he'll contract some business for the new high school he works at.
  16. Front end parts are all pretty much interchangable with Gen II styles except the fenders from an 82 are different in the placement of the antenna. Tailgates are hard to come by and trim is even rarer. Good luck with it.
  17. Mick, maybe you can load up some of those beanie babies and take them for a thrill ride in your R/C Brats.
  18. Kelly, it's probably just an agreement between the parts manufacturers and the mechanics to make the process such a pain in the @ss that next time you'll pay the money to have a certified mechanis do it. And then, they will only say they did it and pocket the cash.
  19. Check compression using a sall airtank with a spark plug fitting. If the cylinder leaks profusely, pass on it.
  20. I suggest you get another dealer to workon your car. Is this the same bozo who caused you grief earlier, or are you just cursed with bad repair work?
  21. That shouldn't be a big problem for you.
  22. I always consider it a good trip if you're not getting towed out. It's a bummer that you've got to replace your engine, but in some camps, that's the cost of playing in the woods. Fortunately, subaru engines are relatively inexpensive. But when all is said and done, you still will have had fun and wouldn't have traded the experiences for anything.
  23. That's almost like milking a radiator. MOOOOO
  24. Yes, there are a lot of people in East Guatemala; they're called Guatemalans. They live there.
