  1. I actually found a universal sandwich adapter in Jegs for $25 free shipping. Looks promising. It should have no problem fitting a EJ22, you just need to make sure you have the right inlet and outlet dia. and thread count. Either way this kit looks like it can do them all. I plan on getting this set. DrKrazy I also think this might help prevent leaking. If the filters diam. is to large for the adapter this kit has an extra wide adapter for large oil filters. I just hope that one of these will be able to manage the outlet oil line being "Y'd" off to 2 seperate oil coolers and then into 2 seperate turbos running in parallel. Any thoughts? Do you run the lines directly to the turbos or just to the oil cooler?
  2. Ok Never mind i am retarded and answered my own question... I mean I posted this info for others to use. Yea thats it yea. These are actually the specs for the oil filter. Which confirms that we can use the #3961 sandwich adapter on an ER27. SWEET!!! Thanks alot DrKrazy! How do you like the adapter? 3. I have looked at flex-a-lite. I saw the model that said subaru I am just wondering if it is the right thread count, thickness and diam. Does any one know? Ill have to go out to my shed and find my oil pump of the ER.
  4. Thats what I thought but wasn't to sure. Thanks. But still wonder if the ever did come stock with the sandwich adapter. If you have one PLEASE POST A PICTURE!!! and please let me know what year and model. Thanks!
  5. Hey Subaru FREAK!! I need help I was looking in my Chiltons and it shows that turbo model engines have an Oil sandwich adapter that run high a pressure line to the turbo. I looked at the turbo XT in the junk yard here and it doesnt have one. I really dont want to run an external oil pump if I dont have to. Does anyone have one or seen one? Will they fit an ER27 oil filter? Thanks for the help!
  6. AWSOME I had the same problem!!! Look in the oil ports there are 2 hiding inside very very sneaky!!! Once you get them out the engine will fall apart! It took me about almost a month of PURE FRUSTRATION AND ANGER to get it apart. The one day I looked at all the pictures I took while taking the engine apart and I saw the bolts in the pic. I ran frantically to the engine in the frigid cold and POOF there they where stairing me in the face. Made myself feel like a dumb rump roast! Make sure you use a rubber mallet or a piece of wood ie 2x4 and tap it with a hammer. Should be easy. My related thread http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29359
  7. Powdercoating is not much worse then painting as long as you have all the right tools to do it. Once you aquire the tools you will never paint again... as long as you can heat up the parts above 400 deg without melting them.
  8. You did a great job on your roo. I dont think the paint will really affect the IC. I might be powdercoating my IC's. The nice thing about powdercoat is the thickness is absolutly minimal and will keep the heat transfer at a max. Props! Keep 'em coming!
  9. I like it to only its a little to grey for me. What kind of paint did you use? Keep EM COMING! Doesnt have to be just a subaru engine. (<-- dare I say this:-\ )
  10. I did have in mind keeping with the REAL carbonfiber colors with at least one other color to give it pop. (non of that fake carbon fiber crap, that junk drives me nuts!) I was thinking about the blue and yellow but I think it has been done too much. What ever I come up with on the engine bay will most likely be the basis of the rest of the cars interior and exterior. Keep them coming!
  11. That is pretty sick! I like the subaru colors! Looks like it was powdercoated. This was one of the ways I was looking into.
  12. Whats up fellow Subaru freaks! I am working on putting my ER27 back together and I trying to come up with a really cool color scheme to use under the hood. Both of the turbos will be visible unlike normal stock turbo placement. I want to cover every thing that may discolor or become corroded from the nuts and bolts to the throttle body weather it be even polished aluminum block and then clear coated I dont care. I have access to just about any method of coloring every part under the hood; paint high/low temp, Powdercoating high and low temp also super high gloss and mirror effect. Some of my powdercoats also have very similar looks of chrome. I will be using CARBONFIBER as well but how I will use it I cannot disclose right now sorry:brow: I would appricate it if I could get A LOT of good help here. I have my own ideas but I always love the ideas put forth by my subaru family. Go ahead and post some pictures of; colors, finished engines, anything you like I dont care. The more the marrier! Thanks Everyone!
  13. Reddevil How many lbs of boost did you say you were putting into that engine? Do you have any other upgrades on the engine? Do you have any clue as to why the piston cracked ie heat or predetination? Thanks
  14. I used to live in Iceland a few years ago. The people there are very cool. I wish I knew they were doing this while I was there. Mabe I will go back some time and go wheeling with them!
  15. Hey there buddy you might be in luck. I have a set of 4x140mm pug 15in rims that I was going to be using on my brat before I decided to go over to a 5 lug conversion for the TT setup. I removed all the paint on them to have them either powder coated or custom painted. I would like to keep them but if the right offer comes along "HINT HINT" I might part with them. They are in wonderful shape and cost me a pretty penny on top of getting the paint removed. Let me know what you think. If you would like to mabe buy them PM me and we can talk money. Check out the pictures! there are a few leafs in the grooves in this picture. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=7238&size=big&sort=1&cat=500
  16. LOOKIE LOOKIE I GOT THE COPPER GASKETS!!!!!! These things are a thing of beauty!!! So pretty, So shinny. Well Its been about a month now with a lot of waiting and a lot of patiance but they are finally here. and they look great and very beefy they feel about 5 times more durable then common head gaskets. I had them specially built from Flatout Gaskets fully coated in rubber using their special bonding process to prevent any fluid leakage that regularly plauges copper gaskets. I sent off the new head gaskets I ordered from cortico to have them reverse engineer them. I ordered the .064" thick set. The final cost was $137 this includes shipping and handleing and taxes, and this is the very most that you would have to pay, these are their most expensive gaskets. I would imagine if you wanted a set of these for an EA82 EA81 or EJ22 25 you will be looking at anywhere from $65 to no more then $100 for RCC gaskets like mine for the 4 bangers. If you are interested it these contact me and I will give you all the information you will need so you can get a set. Clear rubber coated copper XT6 head gasket Copper and Cortico side by side Original Cortico I sent off Beautiful isn't it! Pictures do it no justice
  17. Ok BBalls. Did the injectors with the red top look anything like these ones on the left? They came out of a turbo xt4. It would be nice to actually see a picture of the two injectors side by side if you have the means. Without that verbal discription only goes so far. I personally have not been able to find any spider manifold injectors, but would be willing to see what I can do to help. Thanks buddy
  18. Welll I was looking into working in a side feed injector setup along with my top feeds. As far as injectors that I can get my hands on for side feed, I have only found some from a 2.2 Legacy, and I highly doubt that they will be much higher flowing then our top feed, mabe, mabe not. I will have to do some research. Odd I am still trying to work out why my jectorrate pulser wont work mabe I am just retarded. I am going to bring the Jrate to some guys on base and see if they may be able to troubleshoot the problem. Once I finish this I will have no problem doing your injectors. I can still strap power up to them flow them and clean them but I will have to use my ghetto method of pulsing them with a 9v battery and tapping the leads. I will post some pictures probably tomarrow of how many injectors I have and show you guys the differences in the before and after of cleaning. I have still not completly finished flow testing the injectors, I should be able to get a few test results by the end of the week.
  19. Beautifully put! I wonder how many others can understand electronic jargon. HEHE Thanks buddy
