  1. I have to say that I like the quad setup also. The thing is I need to remove the 2 middle lights (INTAKES) and replace the 2 outside ones with the HIGH/LOW lights. Is this quick? I would imagine.
  2. Thing is, did they do the research on a turbo charged engine? Probably just some V-6 with no real performance. The thing is it wont break down like dino oil does. If you change your oil ritualistically at 3000k then don't use syntheic. Also, I dont know if you know this but all the new turbo subs out there say nothing less then full synthetic, why? Inside the turbo the temp is extreme! With regular oil, when it runs inside the turbo to lub it up you have a good chance of coking the oil. <-- This is when it breaks down and sludges up. Take some coke or pepsi and pour it on to a got burner and it will carmalize = coking. With synthetic it has an extreamly higher coking threshold, allowing the turbo to run better and keeping that crap out of the engine or cloging your oil lines. Also Along with this you can run synthetic for a far long period in your engine due to less degredation. Ask the WRC, F1 or the forbidden (forgive me for these words coming out of my mouth)Nascar:dead: what they run in their engines, they will tell you FULL SYNTHETIC!!!
  3. That's hilarious! The only thing thats got me wondering is the tread was for a hood scoop for a brat. Actually, I like the scoop!
  4. So does it matter what year Impreza? I know I am going to have to change out my clutch in the ER27 especially once I boost it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have thought about ceramic but that might be pushing it and my budget! If someone had some part numbers or even a good web site that would be even better. Thank you guys!
  5. What did you swap out in place of the ER27, an EA81 or EA82? How long have you had the MS installed on the ER27? I would really love to see your setup and feel how it rides. Also, I might need to get that tuning file from you some time if its not that big of a hassle. I am glad that I am not the first person doing this, I hope that we can chat in the future about this. Thank you!
  6. Ya Odd so how is your setup working? I have every thing for the edis setup except the 6 ignition coil. Soon I will be getting the MS setup. OOH ya whats the deal with the APC boost controller how does that work out for you? I have access to one that I was thinking about selling. Thanks man I will probably have questions for you in the future but you probably know how that goes.
  7. Hey Gravel how much did that IC set you back? What psi are you running through it?
  8. I didnt mean the pictures were to have the children follow (lure them) me anywhere. Man one simple "bad" word choice and they tell you to call Michael Jacksons lawer.
  9. DAMB IT!!!! As much as I want to tell every one what I am doing I want to keep it a secret/on the down low, that and I dont want to jinks myself. I am short 1 part to complete the major componants and then I have to plumb the system and pray to GOD! But in reality it still will only be experimantal until the whole car is finished. I will be making a full write up of the setup with beautiful color pictures for the little children to follow.
  10. YOUR THE BOMB GARY!!!!do you know why?:-\ Ill have to find out what he has. Thanks a lot!
  11. Wow... Its neat being a pioneer but at the same time it suck when you have no one else to turn to for help (as far as xt6's go), I guess Oddcomp is the go to guy and any other EA82(T) guys that have done the swap. :-\
  12. Hey Fellow Subaru freaks Has anyone actually done a full MS n' EDIS-6 swap to a XT6 yet? How about just MS? OR EDIS-6? I have been searching the threads with a comb and only found that a very few people have even talked about actually doing it but many suggestions to try it. This is one of my next big projects in the TT build and I would like to know how many people have attempted this feat. Thank you!
  13. Very much agreed! Like I was saying in normal case situations... or did I say that? If you have no plans of going to a FMIC and stay with the TMIC they yes that is your best option. ' ' How bad was the parasitic loss from the fans? ' ' ' ' Hint Hint ever heard of freon?
  14. Thanks MorganMDo you have any pics of your radiator setup? Thanks bud!
  15. True that^. Another problem is the amount of room the whole system take, which is not a lot, but more then and air to air. Also think about this. An Air to water cooler is not a whole lot more efficiant then air to air. The water that is heated by the intercooler still needs to be cooled off through a water (or oil type) cooler. **These are all rough guesstimations** So say ambiant air is 72degF A/A I/C 72F blowing through an A/A I/C could only (at max efficiency) cool the charged air to 72F. Now, A/W I/C. Lets start at the water cooler. Say the water temp is 72F in the system because this is the coldest the internal water temp will get due to the water only being able to be as cold as the ambiant temp from the water cooler. Now also dont forget the water resevior, if the water temp is hotter then that 72F and it mixes with the other water it will dilute the temp closer to the hotter temp. The water runs through the A/W I/C at a higher or if not equal temp as an A/A I/C. So what do you think? Some of this info is pulled out of Corky Bell's Maximum Boost. Either I am right or just I am reading the book bassackwards. The most efficient IC is the one I am building, It will be announced upon completion. Sorry I know everyone in here hates long waits.
  16. Do you know how I could get a copy of this catalog? Thanks About the Minimum lift being 6", That might be what I want to go with. I am still contenplating on going with the 4" or 6".....
  17. Thats one beautiful subie indeed! It books at $6600 in NADA. OOOH I would love to get my hands on that and restore it. That little engine would be a lot of work. I dont think my wife would go for having a fifth car though. Check it out! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4560788015&category=6467&sspagename=WDVW
  18. Thats awsome.. I was at the junk yard also today hot as snot!!! I picked up a few things that I needed to get my old legacy running legal again for inspections. Hey Subieguy how much crap(tools) in pounds do you carry into the junk yard with you. I have so much that I am going to be getting a military rucsac to stash the tools in considering they are designed for that. We used to carry rocks in our rucs for "practice" or so the military said.
  19. I have one of these I might be willing to give up if the price is right. It would work perfect with very little tubing. Its from a Dodge Sprit. Its nice and big but compact at the same time .... if thats even possible?!?!
  20. Thanks for the insight archemitis. The only other way is to throw in a T-case and them I could, but I really dont want to lift it that high. By the way what would you imagine the minimum height that you would have to lift to drop in a nissan T-case? Also about the radiator... Call me crazy but what my "PLANS as of right now," I want to mount the radiator in the bed of the brat along with a fuel cell and my battery. The only thing I am concerned about is if the XT6 water pump will have enough power to pump coolant back and into the engine without an additional pump.
  21. Subaru freaks Quick Question. Has anyone ever moved the mounting point for the engine and transmission back any? Like 2 inches or so? This is just a crazy question. I know that it would mess with the axle angles and all kinds of other crap, but just wondering?
