  1. Wow! That is Sweet! What are you going to do with it?
  2. I'm having a problem with the 6 part? One to one locked in 4th? I'm still trying to figure out what your talking about there? Build it!:burnout::burnout: :burnout: Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 4X4 84 GL Mad Max 4X4 01 Forester 4X4 none are 6X6:rolleyes:
  3. A Subaru in the Baja 500? That would be cool! I'd assume it would also be a first?
  4. My GL Hatch had one and now the Buggy has one...?
  5. ...ok, I'm running out of fingers. So I count 13 headlights? What are you going to light up? I'm thinking there's way too many lights here:clap: I have just over 600w shining forward on Summer and I'm worried about my alternater?:-\
  6. A new Subaru will not have the gears to climb like the old ones. Larger tires will just aggrivate that problem and take down your mileage. However the new ones have more power than the old ones and an automatic transmission may make up for some of the gearing issues. The question is will an auto tranny hold up?:-\ For dirt and back roads the cars can't be beat but for heavier 4wding an SUV with low range would be better.
  7. You may want to have the folded position on the front support below the roof line or at least even with the roof line. That way it will not catch the wind when it's not in use? Keep us posted!
  8. Ouch! That hurts to see your car like that. Good to know no one was hurt. I think it would be an easy repair. However the windshield area is really strong. It may take a bit of pounding to get it back into shape. Dents give your car "character". Good Luck, Glenn
  9. Anything you hit will be damaged, it doesn't matter what you make it out of. A #2000 pound car and a tree will dent anything you put between them. However, if you make some out of fiberglass, you would have a mold to make new ones when you trash the old ones? You may also be able to sell some to fellow Subie enthusiasts? If it were me? I'd cut the old fenders and find some JY flares that work and call it done! for cheap! I wouldn't waste a lot of time on this project... Carve and go! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer--no fenders 84 GL Mad Max--factory fenders 01 Forester--fender flares
  10. It would store well when you don't want a shell. I don't think it would last as long as a fiberglass or aluminum one...
  11. Can you borrow a bigger trailer and make one trip? The real question is do you have a place to put them? or better yet...Do you have a use for them? I could have a lot of vehicles for free but I refuse to start my own Junkyard. ...said the guy with six vehicles.... Many things to think about... Good Luck, Glenn
  12. Not quite as bad as it sounds. Your AZ $ are cheaper than our US dollars.... So maybe it's around $250 US?
  13. Maybe the Grizzly should be named the Phoenix?
  14. It certainly makes the car feel a bit unstable. Low speeds are where I have noticed it most. The car seems more grabby in a corner w/o the bar. My.02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  15. The fluid is changed but... Is the tranny fluid at the proper level? Low fluid can give strange results. Hummm.... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  16. Lookin way cool! I should have done that to my Hatch:slobber: Keep us posted on the finishing touches. I like it! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  17. How did she perform in that sand? It looks kinds deep and potentially soft?
  18. Tell us what you think of running 28's relative to your gearing? How's the power and hill climbing? I'm running 26's and I notice the difference. Give us an off-road report. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  19. I love my 2001 Forester L. My only regret is no Dual Range Tranny. Why do the Auzzies get all the good stuff? Oh well:burnout: Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  20. I thought someone was going to try this? I'd like to know if anyone has tried and what the results were? Inquiring minds want to know!
  21. I've had good luck with the cheap ones. My experience has been your always going to wait to "air up" after wheeling. I've nuked several of the more expensive ones yet I still have a Cheapie that seems to inflate faster and has not failed yet (15 years). The air tanks seem too bulky and don't hold enough air.
  22. I went to visit Mad Max this weekend. He's pinned in 3 feet of snow and can't move too far. I fired him up this weekend and noticed there was no Tack? No matter what I did, I had no RPM's? Is this a distributor going away or maybe a wire eaten by some rodent? Suggestions on where to look when I go back to dig him out? Thanks, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  23. Gotcha all beat. I purchased my 82 back in...1982! Yes it still runs and I still own it! I enjoyed driving it every day for all those years. It was fun to drive. By my math that's 24 years and counting. I changed bodies on it in 2003/04. SubaruHummer conversion, and it's even "funner" to drive. It was this stellar performance that made me want another Subaru so I purchased the Forester in 2003. That would be 3 years ago. I picked up Boobaru's old 84 GL Wagon last fall. That would be 7 months. I've never sold a Subaru! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  24. I think it might look good in the same theme as your other car? You know, the one in the cave? Looking good! Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
  25. Is there any connection between the Roto-Rooter truck in the picture and your snokel components??? Coincidence, I think not! Lookin Good, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
