'86 Wagon in Utah up for grabs!
Sweet82 replied to Zeebadoo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Go Subarian! Don't let this go to the crusher. -
If I remember right, I'm 52 up front and about 75 in the back. It would have to be a real short 52 degree climb to not power out. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8813&cat=500&ppuser=584

demo derby in a soob.... :P
Sweet82 replied to Meeky Moose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I cheered on a little 82 wagon in one of those. Did good for a while, but... Unfortunately, it only took ONE front end hit, before he was dead:eek: Got to avoid ANY front end contact with those little beasts. -
How to remove an engine/tranny without a hoist
Sweet82 replied to Numbchux's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I used a sawzall and got the motor, tranny, suspension, tires & wheels out in 20 minutes. Not a job for the squemish! Oh, wait, you wanted to re-use your body. Never mind:lol: -

I just talked to my neighbor again and told him I even had the trailer to go pick it up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We can't let this go away... -
My garage is now complete!

Brian, I don't see one of these on the wall? How can it be complete? It's about 11ft long and is a must for your garage! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=10439&cat=500&ppuser=584 I'm sure we can figure a way to get it to you. Glenn, -

I'll come pick it up if no one wants it. Subarian, how about you? I have been trying to talk my neighbor into it, I'll ask again. These are getting rare around these parts. It should be restored, best case or at least used for donor parts for other subies? -
I second the motion on pics! I'd love to see the motor and some action shots.

Hummm! Have three..... Would the wife notice an other? -
Don't feel bad, when I tried to climb that same tree, I had to use the winch too! I did make it though? Next time try the other side. I think that is where the line is...
-
I think I was mislead. I thought the 4.44's were HERE!! Hummm!
-
It looks much better with those finishing touches.
-
Part of me says... Thats just gross! Who'z gonna clean that baby up now?:-\ and the other part...!
-
An on-board saw can make your driving easier! Bolt cutters make driving easier! A tow chain. Lock picks. Oh ya, and explosives:lol: These all help me to get places easier.
-
So I'm assuming the 390's are just enough different that you can't get away with a standard 15" tire...:-\ or is it that no one will mount them for liability reasons?

Pics, Pics, Pics! I wanna see the winch! More pics please:D Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester

I'll take all the advice I can get.
Sweet82 replied to bratgrl's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
These engines are too simple. A tune up usually cures everything! I'm suspecting something else. If you were to put all the old crap back on would it run smooth again? I think something you did caused the problem. I think it's just a matter of back tracking to find out what happened? Are the wires snug on the plugs and the distributor? Are your fuel filters clean? Are any plugs fouled? How did the old plugs look? Any unhooked wires dangling around? If it used to run good then back track to find the problem. what do you think about this item?
Sweet82 replied to moshem74's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Seems to me it's a great solution for nothing? I'll file this in the "I don't get it department". Oh ya it seems kinda ugly too! Pass! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester -
Wow! a Driving Range in your own backyard:slobber: I'm jealous:-p

It's all about knowing your car and how to approach the problem. We all get stuck sometimes, but "Summer" has yet to get stuck. I know my time is comming. Great video Glenn 82 SubaruHummer-Summer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester

I'd guess you may get up to around 80hp out of that engine on a good day.

Seems to me there is no real question about the trail! The only real issue is when? If I was there, I'd be planning an exploration trip with you:rolleyes: Now I'd just have to figure out which Subaru to take..... Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
