That car is in such good shape!!! That is so cool to see such a great condition Subie. Great Pics, I like the last picture the best. Looks as though it should be in a Subaru brochure.
-
It's fairly obvious that whoever made that, wanted the Subaru left on! It would have been so easy to get rid of it and yet it is painted and highlighed! Someone wanted to make a Subie Statement! I think they did a good job!

What he said... Somethings messed with the site, too much traffic? -
Tony, You can find out a bunch of info on the 360's in the "Historic" Subaru Forum. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=32 Do a search and see if you can dig up some info. The reality is if you have a newer Suzuki, I'd think you could find a newer Suzuki replacement motor easier. The Subaru 360 motors have not been produced since 1971 and parts are not easily available, at least in the US. I'd think a used Suzuki motor would be newer and a direct fit replacement. My .02 Glenn

I was not sure so I browsed the brochure section. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/Literature/brochures/brochures-80-89.html It showed only 4sp up until 1987. I'd bet they never came with a 5sp?
-
That looks way fun! Wonder how well it turns those 31's?

Have you taken a good look at your Fuel Pump Control Unit? That is what sends the power to the pump. A quick and easy fix relative to wiring up and mounting a new fuel pump? It should be the black or blue box hooked up to your hood release lever on the firewall. I'd check the wires headed out of that box and see if it quit sending a signal to the pump? $3-5 at your local Junkyard.

Suggestions on hatch (Now in my garage!!!!!)
Sweet82 replied to jeep5.9litre's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I always had to jack my Hatch on a suspension part (A arm or rear trailing arm). Everywhere else was just too rusty. Last thing you what to do is put the jack through the metal into the car. Don't jack it on the recomemded jacking points on the rocker panels. They just won't hold up anymore. I think this will be easier than your thinking... -
I second the truck bedliner idea.
-
Way cheaper too! You may have to pull an axle if you wanna "unweld" it for the city.
-
I believe all the 4sp trannys would have had a one piece drive line. The 5sp trannys have a two piece drive line.

How about using a come-a-long and slowly pulling it up on the trailer? or you could bring a fresh battery and just drive it on the Starter Motor! Filling up any tires that will hold air would be a plus! Don't forget to check the spare? That may help. Do you have a set of wheels you could borrow? -
Your right, the leading 0 needs to be in a different spot to make it fit well. 340k would fit 34k would not. It could be this engine is not an original? It's history is not known. If my math is right this motor would have been produced in June of 1982?
