  1. You have come to the right place, Welcome! Tell us about your Subies... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  2. So are the Lugs suppose to be torqued to 72? I have always done mine to 85? Does anyone have the specs for the years and models? (01 Forester too) Thanks, Glenn
  3. The Forester roof racks are tough!!! They are solid not hollow and low profile. I had a tree fall on my rack and it didn't even dent the rack...wish I could say the same for the car. In fact the rack saved the car from more damage. I don't think the metal I hauled was over #100s anyway...and I did pad the rack/roof so it wouldn't scratch anything!
  4. Foot Rest? I was wondering the same thing? In my old Hatch it would have been the pedals or the firewall/fenderwell? I kinda considered those to be essentials? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  5. Where do I get those clips and metal tabs that secure the ends of the flexable brake lines in place? The metal tabs left with the old body... They are just zip tied now..."Summer" would appreciate it. :-\ Thanks, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  6. I went to the home store yesterday to pick up some 12' sections of steel roofing I had ordered. Trooper was in the shop and I had the Forester so I decided what the heck. You should have seen the forklift drivers face when I had him load the Forester roof rack with the steel sections The 12' sections actually fit well on the Forester. All the pickup truck drivers were staring at the specticle:D What a great SUV! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  7. I sold my body or 3/4 of it to the recycle folks and it weighed #440. I think when you add the whole body in it would weigh in the #550+ zone. What are you doing to this poor subie? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--use to be able to lift the tube frame w/axles before it was finished. 01 Forester L--#3170 on the scale.
  8. I second the motion on the Cap, wires, rotor. I'd give it a good basic tune and see if that doesn't clear it up? I had the same thing many years ago and it turned out to be a wire? A basic tune finally took care of it for me. Good luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  9. I have no answers but..... This would be better if it was posted in the newer Subie section??? They may have something?
  10. Got pics? That may help...
  11. I had my 01 Forester done on this same recall. It's a silicone sealer for the cooling system to prevent those small leaks. There are some old threads on the subject... Good Luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  12. WCSS = West Coast Subaru Show - 7?
  13. Don't forget the Differential abreviations........ Open Diff = A diff that has come too close to a big @$$ rock! Usually found up ugly trails! Closed Diff = A diff that doesn't drip gear oil! Locker = A diff that will not turn! no matter what you do:banghead: LSD = An imaginary thing that you'll never find at a junk yard
  14. I'm still not convinced it's not the dimmer switch messing with you
  15. Being broke didn't stop you from getting your first Subaru? Why on earth would it stop you from getting more My bet is by the time you 18 you'll have three and it will just get worse from there Good luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  16. If its your daily driver I wouldn't mess with it too much Clean it up and keep it up! (till you can afford to mess it up! ) My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  17. What kind of car are we talking about? On my 82 GL Hatch the dimmer knob would cause my dash to go off if I bumped it or moved it just a bit. Try messing with the dash dimmer knob and see if you have dead spots on the switch? (or if the dash dimmer knob is adjusted all the way off ) Just a thought.. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  18. Just plane cool
  19. He says it's underpowered until he hits the N2O. Wouldn't it be nice to go wherever you point your vehicle Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  20. I can't get the aquajet link to work?
  21. I have an 01 Forester L, I was playing around with the dash today as I was driving and noticed a "P" button on the top of my steering column. I had always thought that the button on the top of the steering column was the hazards? Of course I pushed it and the park lights came on. The park lights already come on when you turn on the lights with the blinker knob. Why is there two ways to turn on your park lights? (yet another unimportent thread on usless car information) Inquiring & Simple minds want to know... Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  22. Dr. Got the crap today! I've got one pimped Forester now! Thanks, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, no frills all business! 01 Forester, spoiler, brush guard, rock sliders, hitch, tweeter kit, center gauge pack, wood dash, security system...is there anything else,
  23. STOP that now! Your guy are making me hungry! Think I'm gonna go have some ribs for lunch today..... I agree with what Jason posted earlier.... Two trips, both would be fine for family/friends but the main difference would be the terrain. I'd think you'd have to expect some brakage/carnage in Moab as opposed to a nice trail ride on some SUV trail in the South West. The Mountains in SW Utah are getting pounded by snow right now so any higher elevations trips would have to wait... Going to lunch... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  24. Ouch! We feel you pain...at least you didn't hit the Subie! Seems like a good job to me. What kind of car is that? Lumina? I'd have posted that in Off the Topic if it was me... I know nothing about body work... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester---needs body work
