  1. Sorry to hear of your OB problems,....but on the bright side You just got a new BAJA! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester (I wanna see pics of your headlight rock guards installed)
  2. While pulling a Yacht with my Hatch, I decided to race the guy beside me.... I tried to shift too fast and nuked my syncro between 1st and 2nd. Now I have to shift slow and it pops out in 1st when I lug it Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester Oh ya!......I won....but I guess I also lost.
  3. I heard there was shortage of vaccine for this sort of thing What if everyone got it? What will happen to the world
  4. Congrats on the Subie! I could never buy a car that I had not driven and looked over for repaired accident damage? As long as you have your sales papers & insurance, you should be able to talk your way out of any sort of problem Drive carefully and keep a phone with you! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  5. What they said! Besure you double nut the adjustment end of the cable other wise it will/can change your clutch adjustment! Good luck Glenn 82 SubaruHummer---been there done that many times. 01 Forester---
  6. How do you guys find these deals I want a piece of crap Brat to build a MONSTER out of Why don't you post some pics to make us even more jealous? Glenn Living in the land of no old Subarus.
  7. I think Ultimate is a matter of opinion If you factor in it's owner/handler (they do have a mind of their own) and their intended use and terrain your going to get a bunch of different Sub's all thought to be ultimate? I like the EA-81 platform probably in a Hatch body (If you must have a body?) I'm not sure there is one ultimate configuration. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer---body?...who needs a body? 01 Forester
  8. Matt, What about a rock guard for an 01 Forester? Got any real good deals on one? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  9. Jared, Are you talking about the NW corner or AZ? I have heard of several trails in that general area like what your describing. I have a buddy that is trying to get me to go down there and check those out. Subaskeet, there is a handful of biking trails in the St. George Area. You should try them some weekend. I have been on the J.E.M trail near Hurricane, just outside of St. George. Glenn,
  10. I think it might make a fun project but before you could begin you'd probably need to know; What is the HP associated with a motor like that? Where would you get parts? Knowing that you could figure out what size cart to build. ...or you could use it as an outboard motor for your monster Subie!
  11. Welcome to the board! What kind of repairs/modifications did you want to do on your Outback? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  12. Humm.........? What car are we talking about here? Turbos are always good
  13. That sounds great! Count me in... :-\ ??? How do you get there from Utah?
  14. If you buy a few Subies just to sell them....does it really count? "Look Honey these are just investments!"
  15. Ebay is the answer! It's as close to a perfect market as there is. What ever it's worth there... is what it's worth...
  16. Thats good to know, I guess it's good to be reminded about those sort of things every now and then. Easy to forget about those things. Welcome to the board. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  17. If you can make the $150 in the 15 minutes it takes to un pin the cable at both ends and slip a new one in its old path then you should hire it out. That's the same method I use to assess my automotive projects. However I can't earn the equivelent in that amount of time it takes to replace that cable. I have never had one give me any problem after it was installed. The only adjustment is where you want your clutch pedel to be? Replace it yourself. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer---eats cables 01 Forester---better not
  18. I pulled up the dangleing wires for the trailer hitch and moved the Trooper and it looks as though the varmits have moved! :-p None of the traps inside the vehicle have been sprung. I put out a bunch of mouse bait in the garage and they took it! I also found three drowned mice in my teter totter trap It's war!
  19. The cable is one of the easyest parts on the car to replace. Don't pay to have it done!!!! It sounds to me like your cable is out of adjustment not strecthed or broken. You may have messed up the retaining nut that keeps it adjusted properly. If thats the case just tighten the nut (pulling the cable) so the clutch acts right again. Then throw an additional nut on to insure it stays locked in place and does not unthread in the future. I could probably do the cable in 15 minutes. You won't spend a hour learning how to do it your first time! Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer---gone through so many cables and they all seem to break in the middle of the intersection while waiting to turn Left 01 Forester---I hope they solved that problem.
  20. Welcome to the club! Screw them down harder on the little hindge clamps. I used a thick piece of paper in the catch holder to make it tighter so it wouldn't twist down. It kinda worked. Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer...been there done that 01 Forester...going there doing that
  21. I think we have all learned a lesson here If it seems too good to be true............... Tow it! immediately
  22. I finished welding the "strap steel" along the bottom edge of my diff hanger. I'm thinking this will be stronger for the added strain of a welded diff... Oh ya I also added a Mega skid plate up front. It's an eighth inch (1/8...oops) steel plate covering everything in site. It's attached at the front frame and the rear at the cross member. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--armor plated.... 01 Forester--Jealous
  23. I've only seen it done with brats...wouldn't make much sence, bobbing a hatch (although many have taken the tops off ) As for the front end there is not much to take off lengthwise because of the lights and radiator. I believe Zapar just removed some metal under the bumper of his hatch. You should be able to find the thread. SawZalls and Subarus are not strangers! Saw on Dude Glenn 82 SubauHummer 01 Forester
  24. Shawn W. has a block heater on his Brat, you could ask him... My Sub has always started well in real cold weather??? I usually get heat in a few minutes even in the coldest of times  Good luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer with heater! 01 Forester also with heater!
  25. I don't even think Subaru considers the plastic belly pan to be a skid plate. It was never designed to take any impact like a skid plate. Until you add a dual range tranny, I don't think you'll need a real skid plate. In my opinion the Forester isn't an SUV. It's a great all wheel drive wagon though! My .02 Glenn 82 SubaruHummer---off-road ready 01 Forester---Dirt-road ready
