  1. I have an 01 Forester L, I was playing around with the dash today as I was driving and noticed a "P" button on the top of my steering column. I had always thought that the button on the top of the steering column was the hazards? Of course I pushed it and the park lights came on. The park lights already come on when you turn on the lights with the blinker knob. Why is there two ways to turn on your park lights? (yet another unimportent thread on usless car information) Inquiring & Simple minds want to know... Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  2. Dr. Got the crap today! I've got one pimped Forester now! Thanks, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer, no frills all business! 01 Forester, spoiler, brush guard, rock sliders, hitch, tweeter kit, center gauge pack, wood dash, security system...is there anything else,
  3. STOP that now! Your guy are making me hungry! Think I'm gonna go have some ribs for lunch today..... I agree with what Jason posted earlier.... Two trips, both would be fine for family/friends but the main difference would be the terrain. I'd think you'd have to expect some brakage/carnage in Moab as opposed to a nice trail ride on some SUV trail in the South West. The Mountains in SW Utah are getting pounded by snow right now so any higher elevations trips would have to wait... Going to lunch... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  4. Ouch! We feel you pain...at least you didn't hit the Subie! Seems like a good job to me. What kind of car is that? Lumina? I'd have posted that in Off the Topic if it was me... I know nothing about body work... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester---needs body work
  5. I was curious too.... http://4wheeldrive.about.com/library/uc/ucgraphics/Bruttus_rusu.jpg Lada Niva Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  6. The top lights are Harbor Freight @ 7.95 a pair 100w you can't beat them. The "Headlights" are Baja 100w @ 9.95 ea http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=31&sort=1&cat=500&page=2 Pretty sure Brian (SubaruJunkie) has these too. Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  7. I'm still looking for an adapter that will fit over my stock tray and then adapt a snorkle off that. Any Ideas....? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--wants a snorkle real bad! 01 Forester--a snorkle would make people wonder...
  8. Exhaust (as we all know) is a bad thing in the cabin. I'd start by looking on the exhaust system start to finish for a leak. You'd sure smell/feel/hear it quick under the car. That's most likely the source and the first thing to fix. After that I'd look at how it got inside the car. Although once you find the source that may tell the answer on how/where it got in. Just stating the stupid...because that's what I know the most about! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester

  11. I have noticed on some Subies that the odometer display is off when the car is off and other Subies have the odometer displayed all the time whether the car is on or not? Is there some sort of display option for your led display for the miles? Ya I know it's stupid but...Inquiring minds want to know Glenn 01 Forester--yes the miles are on display all the time! 82 SubaruHummer--miles are also on display?
  12. Bump! Have not heard from Utah folks in a while... Is anyone out there? Shout out if Urine Utah!

  17. I was worried about the same thing when I mounted ATV off-road tires on my "Subie" rims... I took the rims into the ATV dealer and didn't mention they were actually going on a car http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=32&sort=1&size=medium&cat=500&page=2 Don't ask, don't tell... 18. My 82 didn't have anything like what your describing Tell us more...
  19. I purchased my 01 Forester L in April of 2003 and I paid $11,900 for it. It had 38k on it and was spotless. I looked for a car with the proper amount of miles for the year and at low book. No body work/repaint or high miles. It took a while but I was able to find my forester at low book with nothing wrong with it (miles, body work). I'd think if you held your guns and waited and demanded low book and didn't compromise on miles etc... you'd be able to find something eventually. Good Luck, Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  20. I'm wondering what would be covered here that would not be covered in the Older Generation forum? Seems to me that most of the swapping and retrofitting is for the Old Generation cars anyway? So is the Old generation Soob forum for "Unmodified Old Subies" only? Slightly confused? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer--Which forum am I? 01 Forester--New Gen for now?
  21. How tough is the conversion to a T-case? What drivelines does one use? Is there a write up on the transformation somewhere? Just thinking out loud...nothing planned? Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  22. It means your suppose to STOP! It knows what you did at that last STOP sign, It's all part of a new government plan to monitor your driving! The rest of us don't have one in our cars. It's just your car! Aliens implanted it in your car for the Government. It's all part of a larger conspiracy! We all got the memo on that one??? Maybe we missed you
  23. Looks good! What size tires are you running? How's the gearing for climbs? Train the dog to be your spotter for the trail rides. Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
  24. Don't all three go to that evaporator tank hidden just above where the lines are mounted? On my Hatch I believe all went into the evaporator/collector tank then back to the actual fuel tank? So two of them went from the fuel tank back to the evaporator tank and one came from the charcoal canister tank under the hood to the evaporator tank. Good Luck, 82 SubaruHummer--now uses those two lines as a tank vent:brow: 01 Forester
