PICS!!!!!! i am so happy, too bad i need an adaptor plate to hook them up. it also has an audio alert from what i can tell if the temp gets too high or the oil pressure too low. There is a blue wire that looks like it would go to the oil pressure switch. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=918 nipper

none of them detect it off the glass, even factory. There is a sensor that mounts in the grill, mine is on the license plate. The biggest PITA is finding a spot through the firewall. i use the gas pedal gromit, and that is rather crowded. The mirror kit is desighned to easily pass through things. The only complaint i have is that i have to reset mine from degree heading to degree fareinheit everytime i start a trip. i LOVE the auto dip, it works great. nipper

I finally solved the gauge issue. I got a JDM gauge set from ebay, complete with factory harness and senders. It mounts in the pocket under the radio. I paid a bit much for it, but i worked it out in my head as justifed, considering how much individual quality gauges are, then the work mounting them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=190027289998&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT they bolt right in. Now i need an adapter plate at the oil filter to screw in the senders. nipper

A jumped timing belt can cause a emissions failure, but the car wouldnt run better with just an 02 snesor then, it would still run odd. When was the last time a belt was changed. what were the values on the emissions, we really need to know this in order to help you out. It may be a bad converter, but we need those numbers. he has to give you those numbers, go to a differnt shop. nipper

The subarus have a driveshaft that goes to the rear wheels. In the center of the car is a carrier bearing, and there are 4 sealed universal joints. When the center joint foes, its a comon practice to take it to a drive shaft shop and have it replaced with a ford ranger ( i think, been a while since i had it done). If the car only lasted 180-200,000 miles it would be ok. But cine they go far beyond that, when they go (not often) they need to be replaced. With the grease fittings they will last for ever. nipper

replace the pads, and get new rotors. You can machine the rotors, but 90% of the time your better off with new ones (not all that expensive). Also check the sliders on the calipers to make sure they are free. Get yourself a haynes manual and that will cover it, its not really all that hard to do. nipper

i used the pull down menu to pick the make model and car. The only options were a 2.2L turbo and a 2.5L turbo. i get the feeling this is generic box that fits anything. i also get the feeling it may over ride the ECU instead of reprograming it. Would be interesting to see the install directions nipper

heheheh you funny. When i worked for the fuel cell company, i wrote the manuals and got to name the assemblies and parts when they werent named already. This is true for most engineers, they get to name thier own parts (i wrote the manuals and desighned processes and parts). We ddidnt need no stinkin books, we just made it up as we went along. I even named one part "widget" nipper
