  1. You can without a Doubt use the 5 speed Hi-Lo and You could use the 4 speed, But I wouldn't suggest it...... To do the EA searies 4 or 5 sp. you will need the adapter Kit I build to mount it to the EJ-22 Let me know when you need one, Have fun, John
  2. Remember, Most if Not all EJ-18 motors were put into Automatic cars.....these Motors tach higher which if fine in an Auto with torque Converter, But they have less actual crank Torque than an EJ-22.....In a Brat I'd Say go for it.....You should be happy with it , and as was already stated, the price is Great..... I know A guy who can supply you with an adapter Kit... Later, John
  3. Getting Ken taken Care of..... Did I e-mail you back Raven....? I can't remember..... Sorry its Been Super busy here lately.....I've now Got 4 2.2 Conversions to do........before May...... Let me know Raven..... John
  4. Paul.....you are going to want to put a bullet in my butt..... I was sleep deprived the morning I went to Seattle....I forgot to lod your darn rims...... :-\ I'll call you soon.....I just re-found your Fed-Ex info, I'll try to send the boogers out this coming week....... I've been buried in work here.....Tis Why I am just re-sponding to you now....... Stay safe Pat......Good to meet you, See you soon I am sure...... Later, John
  5. I'll Have a Very Clean Bolt in Kit available towards the end Of February.......It will gain you 4" of tire clearance at the strut, as well as 2 " of ground clearance before you go adding tires and rims , so you could get a total net gain of 3-4 inches of actual ground clearance..... It is in the proto-typing stage right now, We are getting ready to stick the first one in an 04 Baja, but the same Kit will bolt into your Early Legacy as well....... This is the Beautiful part of the design of the kit.....One size Fits all...... from 90 Legacy up to a 05 Baja or .....????? If your interested, E-mail me or Call...... # is in my Sig...... John
  6. I AM going to have one of those.... Looking at the Smaller tire pic, It apears to have leaf in the rear and Something close to stock with blocks in the front.....Remember Legacy front lower arms have a different llook to them than older gen cars.....I think what you are seeing in the front is the rear of the lower arm blocked up some to accomodate the bigger tires....... The MONSTER LEGACY has Leaf for sure in the rear , and Possible up front , but front almost looks like they fabbed in the entire front IFS from under the Donor Toyota....... I wish I could read Icelandic....... Later, John
  7. I know Someone who is right now Trying to Make that a Reality.... I'll Let him show Pics when it's Done........ John.......
  8. Josh.... For now just find an Ingition on wire in the EJ-2.2 harness.....wire this into the fuel pump you got from me......This should get the thing running if all your other harness stuff is in order..... biggest thing I can tel you, Is make sure you have all the propper ground wires hooked up...... Later, John
  9. I like grummieb have replaced many of these with the same issues over the years......2 issues I have found Are improper Torque, or when it happened the first time , someone didn't replace the axle shaft.... You can assume that if you threashed the splines in the hub, you at least took some material off the axle shaft as well....Even if it looks the same clean..... If it were me I would replace the hubs again as well as Axles on both sides, Make sure you torque down proper, then come back and Check them in a week or so......And then again in 4-6 weeks if you find that they loosened a bit after the first torquing.......Also make sure bearings came through the whole process with out metal fines getting into them from the hub going bad.....If you see metal dust in them when you pull the hub and axles, Replace them..... Good luck, John
  10. Sorry, I am full of beans this morning... I was thinking EA-82 car .....Ea-81 does have to remove to make it easy to pull the doghouse that the Motor sits inside of..... I pm'd you , Let me know, John
  11. Noah...You shouldn't need to remove the Glove box to gain access to the Heater motor......????? IT should be viewable from underneith all the passenger side plastic.....3 screws with either philips heads or 8mm heads will take it loose, and it will have a single 2 wire plug connector attached to it..... HAng a few And I'll pm you ...I have another Turbo car sitting here.....I'll run out and Look real fast to verify I'm not full of Beans this morning.... Brb.....
  12. Drive Down to Eugene , I'll give you one for 20.00.... Call me I'll give you Directions.... John P.S. # is in My sig....
  13. Caboobaroo......You of all People should know better than to say NOPE CAN"T BE DONE....... There has been way to much can't be done stuff DONE here..... time + money = Anything can be done...... Slap your own wrist...... Later, John P.S. a glassed in ,covered Baja would definately look different......
  14. Rear bumper with hitch so you can just tow a spare Parts car Around with you.........Put all your extra gear in it, so you've got leg room in the Wheeler.... Seriously...... For the Rubicon we Took pretty much everything thats already been listed.... Took multiples of Axles and Easily broken Items, and One or 2 of many other things....But we Also broke several big things up between the 3 Rides that went......So as a Collective Whole you have it all and then some, but One rig isn't carrying the entire load..... If you are fortunate enough to have a Welder along.......Steel to fix or scab things together to get you off the trail needs to go as well......We had this for the Con, and Used some of it....... One thing Not Listed yet, another Ride or several......To pull you out, or run for parts if Needed....... Later, John
  15. Qman, Zap, Tex.......When We going....... I think A couple OB/OBS properly Prepaired would Be the Shiznit out there...... Do I hear any Volunteers...... Need to start chatting about it now for this coming Summer...... Nice Pics Guys......I saved several for Wallpaper......You guys are close enough to do some serious ReCon For us all...... Later, John
  16. MPFI pump will work with No issues..... SPFI may, But I have not used it myself......Your running a MPFI motor ( 2.2 ) So I would say use a MPFI pump....( EA-82T ) IT has worked on the 3 cars I'e put together with 2.2 in them..... Later, John
  17. Arch.....I was refering to Factory Pumps...... All Legacys And Newer have pump in the tank, This is why Most retro-fitters have not used them...... All Loyal and Older Subies indeed have them under the car or in the engine bay........ Factory SPFI Pump and Factory MPFI pumps are different.....I have several of Each in My Yard..... Later, John
  18. SAR-Baru..... Sent you a P.m....... Talk soon...??? John
  19. CHECK FOR CODES FIRST........... You should always start by checking for codes..... Your ECM is under the dash almost center iunder the steering wheel..... Pull the coverplastic if its there, and with the key in on position you should get a series of led flashes.....If it is just a constal even flash start the car up..... Now if there is an Engine Management issue the ECM should start flashing long and Short dashes......long is 10 short is 1 so 2 long and a short would be 21.... Get the picture....???? Have pen and paper ready, as it may spit out a bunch of them..... My first guess off hand Would Be Coolant Temp Sensor, But if your Check engine light has not come on , Then it would suggest that it is an issue outside the ECM's Control.....leaving only a few area's to look..... Check Codes, and let us know...... Hope this helps, John P.s. USRM has code referance in it I believe.......
  20. archemitis..... and... all the ea82 spfi, turbo, and er27 pumps are the same...??? All Ea-82 and ER-27 Pumps are not the same.... Ea-82T and ER-27 may be the same....???Not sure I've not personally looked at an ER-27.....But Ea-82 SPFI is it's own Volumn Pump , as is the EA-82T , and the Carb'ed EA-82...... I used a Ea-82T Pump to Power the BEAST with the 2.2 in her, with no issues....It was the easiest cheapest Route......I know Austin is Running the same Pump on his Yellow Wagon with the 2.2 and had no issues....Running it several hundreds of miles down the freeways....... What ever you choose to do, Go with something you know has been tried and Worked before.....SubaruBrats ER-27 swap or The EA-82T pump we've been using..... Hope this Clears things up for you, John
  21. Call Rallitek......or check out http://www.rallitek.com I know they get them for all Generations of Legacy, Impreza, and WRX Later, John
  22. Texas...... As I said over the phone......IF......and I stress the IF ,we go over the 1 1/2" Mod , then there will be extra wear and tear on the cv's.......As long as we dont go past the 1 1/2" mark, you'll get normal life out of them............the Forester is Running just fine on his Originals, as well as the Outback Sport ..... Not sure if you got confused about the different things we chatted about or not....??? Let me know, For the others....No "Mendancy" intended, But you would have to look hard, and Measure the strut to see something was odd about them..... No blocks involved in this Lift........ Later, John
  23. The Mechanicals inside the door on your 88 are broke for that function....All it is is a Small tab...... The 3 door is Propper......Nels', GL-10 has the same issue.....Just have to remember....... Later, John
  24. Not Sure if it is True or Not.....I'll call P.K. to verify, But I think He was giving up on the 2" Body Lift......The New Gen cars are way different in the way things bolt to the Car frame......So there are more Blocking Points...... I can Build a 1 1/2" to 2" Strut/Spring Lift for any 90 or Newer Gen Legacy, Forester, Outback, OutBack Sport, Impreza Sport, Or Baja........ Also In doing it this way I gain you Clearance at the Bottom of the strut for larger than Stock diameter tires...... so with lift + tires, you could gain as much as 3 1/3 inches of Ground Clearance........ Let me know if your interested......Cost on Most models is 650.00 plus shipping.... Later, John
