  1. Im sure you can. Any professional shop would be able to do it as well. ive seen plenty of aftermarket moon-roofs in Subarus at the yards. Not sure if it will lower the car tho. -Brian p.s. No wait, im pretty sure it WONT lower the car any
  2. All the pictures I took of you, Eric, had a huge blur right over your face? Dont know what it means, but I hope you have longer than a week to live (lame "the ring" joke). Only time I saw you were the times you told me to keep it slow... didnt have the camera on me -Brian
  3. Not true. I have a 3" lifted wagon as well, and i get even less respect from the Jeepers than I do from the riceboys when they see my RX. -Brian
  4. Only thing I can find at Pep Boys are rims, exhaust, tv's and stereo's (all cheap crap btw too). Dont even waste your time at the pep boys "parts department". Actually, i should change that to boycott Autozone because the last time (which will be THE last time) i went in... the punk kid behind the counter saw my shirt and said "ahh... subaru, yeah we wont have it." Didnt even ask what I was there for.... But i then told him to look up a distributor cap for a 87 RX. He didnt have it. Then I asked him to look up some plug wires for the same car and when he couldn't find them he said "See told you we wouldnt have them" At least napa will ask me if I'd like to order them (which they can usually have by 5pm same day). My best bet nearby is Napa and Schucks. -Brian
  5. CSK will beat anyones price by 5%. Helps me out cause Napa carries CV's for just over $57... and CSK will beat em and i end up paying alittle less than $54 for a CV (without core charge). Even tho the guys there are stupid, they are also very gullable. Makes it easy to get cheaper parts. Shop around, do your homework... then goto CSK and get the best price by 5%. Also, i go in there wearing my Subaru tech shirt, and they usually dont question me. I also check the box to make sure its the right part before I walk out the door with it. Overall, ive had no problems with CSK. I call ahead of time, they hold the part. If they dont have it, they tell me where it is and i go get it. IF anything... BOYCOTT PEP BOYS!!!! -Brian

I just came back smelling like burnt clutch... that got everyones attention at the award's and raffle handout. The tubes worked great. Except for when i got stuck and flung rocks at me -Brian
  7. I believe his name is Subaru_Styles. I will tell him to check here next time I see him online. He has done the 5 lug swap on his Wagon and his Coupe is lowered just like mine. I would like to lower the rear a hair, but alittle rake doesnt bother me. -Brian
  8. It has the RX springs in the rear still. It has KYB GR2's front and rear as well. The front springs are still XT and they are really soft. -Brian
  9. I kinda lowered my RX. Here's some pix of the car after I installed some front struts from a 2WD XT: Now it has a rake to it, and I havent done anything to the rear. You can see some damage to the tire from the fender rubbing in that 2nd pic, and I have since changed to 13" alloys to solve all the rubbing. -Brian
  10. Yeah, and they should be on 1981 and 1983 models (early '83 i believe). Its not that rare, and wouldnt make the value of the car any higher. A $2000 brat better be under 70k original miles and have no scratches or dings -Brian
  11. You will need to make sure you get an adapter for your intake. Chances are, if its an 85 wagon or sedan it has a EA82. And if its a Hatch or a Brat than it has a EA81. The Intakes on the two are different, but there are adapters out there for both of them. Look for Redline i think, they sell the carbs new and the adapters too. Its a common swap so it wont be hard to find one. The carb you are looking for is a Weber DGV 32/36 or DGEV 32/36. Might be able to find the carb off a production vehicle and take a crack at rebuilding it, here's a link i just found... these guys will do it for ya: http://www.racetep.com/webrebuild.html -Brian
  12. The kumho will be a MUCH better tire for the road. Im running Discoverer STT's in 26", and they share the same tread pattern as the kumho's. Road noise is apparent, but you can only hear it opposed to the swampers which you will probably feel and hear and get sick of. For off-road use, the swampers will beat the kumho's hands down. But my Discoverer's have never let me down, and ive put over 6000 highway miles on them. (2 round trips from Sacramento to Medford and one from Sacramento to Seattle). -Brian
  13. Alot of guys at the show were in Awe. Cant be too skeptical. I would think anyone who had their lift casted would have done all their homework considering cv angles and camber issues. I saw it off-road, saw it dirty, and saw it drive home. I didnt see it get 4' of air however. -Brian
  14. Very stealth!! I like it. good thing I have a cargo cover to hide my two 10" Kickers. -Brian
  15. signature sais its a mudrat lift, 4" looks great -Brian
  16. I remember seeing that a while ago and saying to myself... "NOW WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT!?!?!?!" I'd have to try it at least once. -Brian
  17. Im sure Laurel did. She's in love with your car. -Brian
  18. Than why not say screw it and remove the thermostat all together? Subaru's engines are designed to run most efficiently at 180 degree's but running a 160 shouldnt hurt a thing. Provided you can find one. I was searching for a 170 for my EA81 in california, and even Napa couldnt special order one. Intercool the car as soon as possible, i can tell a noticeable difference with my engine temps with the intercooler on. -Brian
  19. Thats alittle far north from me... so i guess i wont be able to help in an emergency. I think Subi81 Lives in Redding tho. -Brian
  20. Noah has pix of the AA wagon in the air. It wasnt Shady driving, it was his business partner. I was the one that donated the struts to save them, but the car still had to be towed to camp since he blew out both passenger side CV's (front and rear). The lift survived, but the strut didnt -Brian
  21. Ted, of course! Send me a PM and i will reply with the info. -Brian
  22. I missed this post Gary, gratz on the 300k RX. Mine hit 165k on the trip to WCSS and 166k on the way back. Still a baby in comparison i guess. Oh, and i like where your boost gauge is installed -Brian
  23. I love it, im all for it!! But to make it a true Subaru icon you must have AWD. But with a $2000 budget i guess you cant get too crazy. Where is this race held? Is there a webpage to learn more about it? -Brian
  24. Woah... thats kinda out there. When I saw the comercial I didnt think of terrorists one bit. And I thought it was a very smart way to market their ugly new SUV. The platform is a good idea, and hopefully by 2010 it will look good I give the Commercial a thumbs up -Brian
  25. Okay... well noah's pictures are down now. He told me to remove the album in AIM, and then went to bed or something :\ -Brian
