Putting a Hood scoop on RX
Cool, im glad to see there is another RX owner nearby. I dont see RX's at all in Sacramento except for mine. There is one other one driven by some old lady. We oughta get together and rally our RXs. I have a couple subaru buddies in the area and we try to get together every now and then to drive. -Brian

CB channel for WCSS7?
I lost a magnetic mount on the way to WCSS6 last year. Scared the crap out of me to hear it slide off my trunk and into my fender (and wheel). Magnet shattered but luckily it didnt peirce my tire. I stopped at the next radioshack and bought a new one. Me and Jibs will be Traveling north on I-5 from Sacramento to Olympia. We both have CB's and will most likely be on channel 5. if not just scan around. If we're nearby you will hear us We have ALOT of driving to do, and i doubt either one of us will have passengers in our cars. -Brian

The Ultimate Off-Road Song!
Since AMC was pretty much all american, i doubt any eagles made it to the UK. The Eagle is pretty much THE ugliest car. -Brian

Vollunteer needed. Need your artistic skills :)
Not to nitpick... but to nitpick I think it'd be alittle easier on the eyes if the blue border around the yellow letters were just alittle thicker. Other than that i think it works out pretty good. Might want to list a couple features we'll be having for the show. Like the Campground capacity, onsite features, the swap meet and the all terrain park will also be some sale points. How big are these going to be printed? I will be happy to distribute some around town after they come off the presses. -Brian P.S. Prices might be a good idea too... so people dont show up with an empty pocket and an attitude.

Putting a Hood scoop on RX
Odd... i want to send mine to you. Maybe i'll send it in the same box as that Laptop Screen I promised you 18months ago LOL I took the IC out of my car, so its not as important. Hit me up on MSN messenger and we'll talk more about it. -Brian

Putting a Hood scoop on RX
Sais you are from Davis. Is that Davis CA? Nobody makes custom hoods for our RX's Not yet at least. And installing a scoop really depends on which scoop you use. Calebs scoop was pretty easy to install since it fits within the center hump. Others, however, arent as easy. I have a scoop from a 2002 WRX and it is about 5" too wide to fit my hood. I will either need to make the WRX scoop 5" skinnier or alter my hood in some way. This is whats been keeping me from doing my installation. -Brian

IF they can be printed double sided, it might be wise to put a map on the back from Olympia or something. -Brian

RX Disty: Hitachi or Nipodenson?
I took the cap off today but didnt see any identifying marks on it. I found a 1 stamped where the #1 plug goes. There were no clips, but 2 screws. And no tabs sticking off the bottom of it to fit in the disty. I was going to goto the store and look at the 2 and make a decision now that I know what mine looks like. But then I started playing WoW. I just finished and its almost 11pm. So i'll need to get a cap tomorrow after work. -Brian

coilover and strut swap?
There is no reason why you cant. And if your going to lift the car then it doesnt matter if they're adjustable or not. -Brian

The Ultimate Off-Road Song!
In the Lyrics he mentions the car having 4WD. And with Low Ratio, there arent many Options out there for Dual Range 4WD Cars in 1980 -Brian

RX Disty: Hitachi or Nipodenson?
Went to the store today to get the stuff I was after... and the clerk asked if it was Hitachi or Nipo. I didnt know off hand and instead of wasting her time I told her I'd return. I thought Subaru would have picked one by 1987 and I wouldnt have to worry about it. How can I tell which disty I have? -Brian

First 4wd?
The very 1st 4WD that Subaru offered was in the 1972 Station Wagons. 1975 Might be when they were imported to the US, but FHI themselfs say it's so :-p FHI History 1970-1979 The 1st Brat was introduced in 1977 and all brats from production start to production end were 4WD. There are some very rare Gen1 Brats overseas offered as 2WD but mostly for delivery and hauling. -Brian

The Ultimate Off-Road Song!
Was playing with this new MP3 service I got and Im going through the Jethro Tull Collection. While sampling one of my favorite songs I start listening to other songs on the album and one I come across is titled "4.W.D. (Low Ratio)". I queued it up and am listening to it now. Kinda hard to make out what Ian Anderson is saying but I found the lyrics online. http://www.davemcnally.com/lyrics/JethroTull/4WD(LOWRATIO).asp I could probably share the MP3 too.... gimme a sec to put it somewhere. -Brian Not many can stand Jethro Tull... but for the few of us who can, here's the song 4wd.mp3

Holding up an Intercooler
Plumbing would be a *************** and I want small for the faster spoolup. Im thinking a nice fan under there and a hole in the hood should do fine. If i need any cooler maybe i'll spray some water down there. What i really need to focus on is the smog :X -Brian
